Being part of an event like this and seeing it come together after so many months of planning and preparation is one of the highlights of my summer. I am proud of the club’s team effort and passion to present the old car hobby as we were able to do. Not only were we able to share our club’s support of the old car hobby, but with the city’s help we were able to do it in a way that drew thousands of people’s attention to the cars and to AACA while enjoying beautiful weather amidst the charm and character of downtown Fredericksburg. I have received a number of calls and ee-mails complimenting us as a club. Some of our sister clubs are interested in using our show as a model for their events. So, in conclusion, not only am I thankful for the weather we had, but also for the fact that our club is willing to support each other by working together to have an event that is enjoyable to us and so many others. Congratulations to all the winners and don’t forget our supporters on page 5. Thanks to you all -- J. Members Attend Fairfax Show Doug; Lin Bourne, Wally Hunt and myself attended the Fairfax Show on May19th. It was hosted by the Northern VA. Early Ford V-8 Club and was held on the grounds of the Fairfax Courthouse. This show is co-hosted by the City of Fairfax and is open to all cars and trucks. It always attracts a wide variety of vehicles, from Model T's to Lamborghinis. This year marked at least a dozen years in a row for great weather and it attracted an impressive number of cars from classic Packards to modern Cobras. The NVRG V-8 Club is a group of truly dedicated and willing workers so I strongly advise giving this meet a looksee. Wally participated in the Model T Club's take down and assemble demonstration as scheduled for our own show on June 2nd. Lin Bourne won a fine trophy for "best Commercial" for his 1937 ford pickup truck. Nice going Lin. This show entails enduring some Northern VA. traffic for sure but overall it is a really nice way to spend a Saturday in May in a beautiful setting so why not give it a try next year?
