The RoadRunner is Ionbond´s response to
the tool manufacturer´s continuous demand
for higher productivity and innovation. The
design is based on years of experience and
best practice in the operation of coating
equipment in Ionbond´s own coating centres.
The RoadRunner is the most flexible platform, ideally suited for full-scale development of new coatings. It can be configured
with round or planar cathodes or a mix
thereof and additional sputter sources.

Bernex™ BPXpro CVD
Bernex™ CVD systems are used by all major
manufacturers of cemented carbide inserts.
They are increasingly used for forming and
molding dies. Since their introduction in the
1970s they have proven their reliability in
hundreds of installations worldwide. Full
computer control, process integration, and
safe handling make the Bernex™ series the

The PACVD process produces low-temperature DLC coatings for multiple purposes such
as low-friction coatings for components,
wear protection on cutting tools used for
exotic metallic and composite materials,

Bernex™ CVA ALUVAP
As a further development of the CVD platform the CVA system is dedicated for the
­diffusion coating of super-alloy components
that are subject to hot corrosion. The Bernex™ CVA system is used for the alu­min­
izing of such components like hot-section
turbine blades of aircraft engines and landbased gas turbines.
