STUDENT COUNCIL’S ‫ טבת‬theme
was “Clean Up Your Dress” directed at
focusing on our ‫צניעות‬. The girls heard
a beautiful poem, written by Tova
Lavin (see below), and those without
uniform infractions enjoyed a donut at
the end of the day.
Dress to Gain
The way we dress changes how we act
And the way people think of you.
Our beauty can be our greatest gift,
but can be our biggest struggle too.
When things are holy, like a mezuzah,
they are covered by a special case.
As daughters of Hashem, we should be like that too;
We should be elegant and have grace.
This month we’re cleaning up what we wear,
to see k our beauty from inside.
We’re giving out necklaces to show,
as princesses, we should have pride.
Correction: The Dvar Torah at the
Grade 10 Melave Malka was given by Mira
Goldstein. We apologize for the error.
Our school recently got an
honourable mention in the
MISHMERES MONTHLY newsletter.
Our Mishmeres participants shared
great tips on including others,
“leaving no one out in the rain.”
Tips included: calling a girl before a
school function to tell her you want
her to come, picking someone up
on your way to Shul on Shabbos,
and not discussing topics that
exclude others in the group.
Mishmeres
has
also
incorporated a MACHSOM L’FI into
our daily schedule. Every day at
11:00 (and all day too, of course),
Tiferes is focusing on our words to
ensure that no ‫ לשון הרע‬is spoken.
Each day’s Machsom L’fi can be
dedicated to the memory of a loved
one or for a ‫רפואה שלמה‬.
A GAME & PIZZA NIGHT to benefit
Tomchei Shabbos was held at the
home of Daniella Philips. Organized
by our chessed heads, Daniella Philips
and Avigayil Rosenberg, the program
included a fun game of Bingo,
delicious ‫מלוה מלכה‬, and a chance to
help this very important organization.
ZICHRON BINYAMIN CHARITY FOUNDATION
is a non-profit organization established to
raise money for Toronto Jewish Schools.
When donating, please consider
specifying Tiferes Bais Yaakov as the
school you would like your donation to
assist.

After a short break, the WEEKLY ALUMNI SHIUR, held every Thursday at 8:30, resumed on December 31,
bringing together alumni from all graduating years for an inspirational pre-Shabbos talk. Mrs. Kleinman
spoke about sensitivity to others, providing examples from the Torah to exemplify just how far we have to go
to avoid unintentionally hurting others. Tiferes alumni attended a shiur by Rabbi Akiva Tatz at the home of
Mrs. B. Koenig. Rabbi Tatz spoke about the concepts of ‫ בחירה‬and ‫ השגחה‬and how one can affect the other.
An ALUMNI GET-TOGETHER was held in ‫ ירושלים‬during ‫חנוכה‬, at
the home of Mr. & Mrs. Kalfa, parents of Tiferes alumni Tehila
and Avigial.
The ALUMNI TRIVIA NIGHT will be this ‫מוצש״ק‬, January 16th.
All alumni are welcome. Please RSVP.
‫ ב״ה‬our alumni list is ever-growing and expanding. In an effort to maintain contact with our graduates, no
matter where they are, we are busy updating our ALUMNI CONTACT LIST. Please call Mrs. Kleinman at (416)
785-4044 ext. 233, or send an e-mail to [email protected] to submit your contact information.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

“BECOMING RICH”
“Struggling with Emunah and Bitachon”
Part III in
Rachel Factor’s Journey
A powerful and spiritually moving evening
of song, dance, and story
In Toronto - Bais Yaakov High School TONIGHT
January 12th at 8 p.m.
Acclaimed educator and performer, Mrs. Rachel Factor is once again ready to stun audiences worldwide
with her latest production, “Becoming Rich”, continuing the story of her journey from Japanese Broadway
dancer to Jerusalem Kollel wife and mother.
In her first production, J.A.P, Mrs. Factor began her story in Hawaii, where she was born, moving to Los
Angeles and then New York as a singer, dancer and actress, and finally to her home in Yerushalayim.
Continuing the story of J.A.P, Mrs. Factor then wrote and produced “Not Even Normal”. After attending the
show, Rebbetzin Heller remarked, “I was very impressed with Rachel Factor's production "Not Even
Normal". It is inspiring and highly appropriate for girls from Bais Yaakov backgrounds. It is a teshuvah
story, and presents a very moving message that can move them forward spiritually."
“Becoming Rich” is an unforgettable experience as Mrs. Factor
shares and explores her struggle with faith and trust in Hashem.
For tickets and more information, visit www.bnoscamp.org or call 718-213-4585.
All proceeds will benefit Tzedakah.
