In 1997, SKB invested in roto-mold machinery that is ideal
for making larger cases and cylindrical cases. The PE* rotomold material starts as a fine powder that is measured according to the size of the case. The material is then sealed
up in a multi-piece aluminum mold and fixed on a biaxial
rotating wheel. The material is heated at 800 degrees in a
very large oven while constantly rotating. The powder melts
and coats the inside of the mold and after cooling, the cast
is disassembled and the case is removed. Roto-Molding is
great for providing maximum protection and can withstand
maximum impact in transport.

Vacuum-Form
This is SKB’s latest venture in our quest to provide the most innovative
hard shell case products. Injection molding is an expensive investment
and there is no room for error. Made with extreme pressure, even the
smallest injection molded part requires a very large and heavy mold.
SKB has molds that weigh almost 30,000lbs! Many of our parts, such as
our patented trigger latches are produced by the injection mold process. Our iSeries cases include a gasket that makes the case watertight
and dust proof. Our latest injection molded cases for guitars and basses
are very popular with touring musicians. These cases have dual lives as
they are also used for military weapons. Never before has an ATA flight
case been so lightweight, yet so advanced.
Also known as thermal form, this was the first and most
recognized “SKB Style” case. This method is very popular
for guitar or band instrument cases. In 1990, SKB developed the first vacuum formed rack case. ABS* or PE* is
formed into solid sheets of material. The sheets are heated
and are vacuum formed around aluminum castings, thus
taking the shape of the mold. The edges have the distinctive aluminum valance that provides rigid construction as
well as a secure fit. Vacuum formed products are known
for their light weight and extreme durability.

Our Story
In 1977, two ambitious college students developed the
first SKB case in a small Anaheim, California garage.
Today, SKB Cases is known around the world as the
leading innovator and manufacturer of the finest musical
instrument and equipment cases. Since the inception of
our company, in addition to SKB branded products,
leading companies have proudly supplied SKB cases for
protection of their own products. SKB builds cases for
four different major markets (Music/Pro AV, Sports,
Industrial and Military) and that diversity allows us to be
more creative and innovative in our case designs across
the board. We have a true sense of accomplishment for
more than 35 years of steady growth and for an adherence
to quality standards that has made us industry leaders. We
never lose sight of the fact that our customers give us the
opportunity to excel and we are grateful for their trust and
loyalty. We remain dedicated to the assurance that every
case with a SKB logo has been manufactured with an

is less than 20 lbs! With over 27 different sizes, these iSeries injection molded cases are perfectly
suited as the ultimate guitar flight case, (even though it’s original purpose is for military automatic
weapons). But why should the guitar player get all of the cool cases? The latest ATA rated flight cases
for bass guitars provide maximum protection without the heavy weight. Two styles are available that
will accommodate a number of different body styles up to six-string basses.

Previously manufactured exclusively for Fender Corporation, the popular Strat/Tele
guitar and Precision/Jazz bass cases are available now only from SKB Corporation.
The 1SKB-66PRO Rectangular Electric Guitar case accommodates Stratocaster and
Telecaster shaped models while the 1SKB-44PRO Electric Bass case will fit Precision
and Jazz style basses. Both case models are vacuum formed of durable lightweight
ABS plastic with molded in stacking ribs for added strength and durability. A large
accessory compartment for picks, strings or a slide is also included.

SKB was the first company to produce a vacuum formed guitar case back in the late 70’s. This
was revolutionary because the only cases that were available were wood, Tolex covered cases
that were bulky and not very durable. The ABS molded material provides for a very sturdy

Cello Cases
SKB Warranty
Hardshell Cases
SKB brand hardshell cases are fully warranted against defects in materials and craftsmanship
for the life of the case to the original owner. SKB will either supply replacement parts, repair
the case, or replace the case at no charge. Freight back to SKB is the responsibility of the owner.
Approved warranty claims will be shipped back to the customer at no charge. Most locks,
handles and wheels have been made field replaceable and will be supplied at no charge.
Electronic Components
B & O Strings
SKB offers a variety of Cello cases that are perfect for any situation. From a soft-sided case to a
rugged roto-molded shell, each case provides superior protection. The 1SKB-544 is an extremely
durable roto-molded shell with two internal nylon bow pockets and separate rosin pockets.
In-line skate wheels and ergonomically placed sure-grip handles make for easy transport. The
1SKB-344, a vacuum formed shell, includes a molded, plush-lined EPS interior to securely hold
instruments in transport. A molded internal pocket cover provides full neck support. The 1SKBSC344 shares the same interior as the 1SKB-344, but wrapped in a ballistic nylon outer cover.
SKB Pedalboard Products are fully warranted against defects in materials and craftsmanship to
the original owner of the pedalboard by our Lifetime Warranty on the case, and includes a five
year warranty on all included electronics.

are not covered on Soft Products.
