December 2004 - Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce
December 2004 Horizons A Monthly Publication of the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce from the... Chairman of the Board Dear Friends: The days have flown by. It’s December and already time for the holidays! November might have appeared quiet, but was a very productive month for the Chamber in terms of behind the scenes work. I would like to again thank our staff and committee members for their continued hard work. Your time and efforts are very much appreciated. We had a successful New Member Orientation on November 18th. I would like to extend a special “thanks” to all those that helped out with this event and spent their time explaining the many benefits of being a member of our Chamber. I hope everyone plans to attend the Christmas Boat Lane Parade to be held Saturday, December 11, 2004. Come out and see what our volunteers have been working on. It’s their time to shine and will certainly be a spectacular show. Mark your calendar! Also, commit to your memory the date of January 30, 2005. Plan to come and get a “Taste of Space” at the annual Epicurean Evening at Space Center Houston. I hope to see you at our Chamber Holiday Open House which will be held at the Chamber office beginning at 5 pm on December 16th. Appetizers and spirits for all will be available. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Sincerely, Please join the Board of Directors and Chamber Staff for the Annual Holiday Open House Thursday, December 16 5:00 pm Mark Humphrey Chairman of the Board 1 Many people are needed to make the annual Christmas Boat Lane Parade a success. The Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce relies on the cooperation of local law enforcement to ensure the safety of everyone involved with the parade, as well as those that come out for the beautiful show. Recently, many local law enforcement representatives met to discuss the details of the upcoming parade. A big thank you goes out to Nichole Hawes and everyone at The Grille at Clear Lake for hosting the lunch. Now Available at the Chamber! You can also contribute items to the skippers' bags - a collection of goodies given to each captain. This is a great way to advertise your company while spreading a little holiday cheer! Join in the fun and enter your boat in the 43rd Annual Christmas Boat Parade on Clear Lake Saturday, December 11. On the way you will pass by the judges' stand where decisions will be made on which 60+ boats will receive an award. On Sunday morning, December 12, the fun starts at 9:30 am with a scrumptious buffet at South Shore Harbour Resort. Then boaters listen anxiously and the excitement builds as each of the 60+ winners are announced ... leading up to The Most Artistic, Most Original, Most Beautiful and the Jack Campbell Memorial Award for Best Overall.
