This year I haven’t flagged any sale features –- it was i m p o s s i b le. I found a sale
feature on practically every page.

On behalf of the Ontario Blonde d’Aquitaine Association, we welcome you to our 8th Annual
‘Special Edition III’ Cream of the Crop Sale. CSM is proud to be involved with the marketing of such a high
quality Blonde d’Aquitaine seed-stock sale.
‘Special Edition’ was added for the last two years because consignors welcomed on-farm selection.
This year, that option was available upon request. However, it was obvious that the previous two years had
set the standard, as the sale entries came in and the farm visits started, each breeder was offering the
‘cream of their crop’. Last year’s Cream of the Crop Sale proved to be just that - at this years prestigious
Lindsay Central Exhibition, now considered one of the best beef shows in Ontario - the Grand Champion
Bull’s dam was purchased at last years Cream of the Crop - the Grand Champion Female was purchased
at the Cream of the Crop - the Reserve Grand Champion Female was purchased at the Cream of the Crop
- the Reserve Grand Champion Bull sells at this year’s Cream of the Crop. I think that you get the
message... this Cream of the Crop Sale has proven to be just that!
This year we offer the largest selection of quality, young, bred females that we have had the pleasure
of cataloguing in a long, long time. Fancy heifer calf show prospects and replacement females, a limited
number of cow/calf pairs, and some top quality bred replacement cows. Make no mistake, our sire
selection takes no back seat to the female lineup. A proven two-year-old, a real eye-appealing long
yearling (Reserve Champion at Lindsay), a powerful bull calf (Grand Champion at Lindsay), by a western
canadian judge, and then, we get into the real beef - the performance department - some real top bull
calves.
Wow! How explosive – what a stacked sale! Each and every consignor had the desire to make this
the best association sale ever. Again, I would rate this sale as ‘above average’ to most herd dispersals.

The Ontario Blonde d’Aquitaine Association Board of Directors, Sale Committee, and Committee

"Pic k O' T he West Production Sale in 2006 as a calf for $2800. Sherman has proven
to be a g ood breeder, he is quiet, and leaves excellent calves, of which at least 80%
are polled. We are retaining a number of his daughters in our herd therefore have
decided to offer him in this sale. Al l vac c i nations are up to date - IBR, BVD, BRSV
and P13 and he will be ready to work! Sherman also was eval uated for bull breeding
soundness and was determined to be satisfactory on all counts. The or i g i nal copy
will be in the office sale day for anyone interested, and supplied to the new owner

the purchase price of the bull, orhe may attem pt to prove the bull a breeder under
the termsset out above within six (6) m onths of the bull's return. If the bull is proven
to be a breeder within the six (6) m onths provided, the bull shall be returned to the
buyer at the buyer's expense. If he is not proven to be a breeder then replacement
or refund is m andatory.
BREEDER'S GUARANT EE – FEM ALES: Cows represented as being "pregnancy
tested safe in calf" have been examined and declared safe by a licensed veterinarian
and will be accom panied by a Veterinarian's Certifi cate to this effect. T hey are
considered breeders without further guarantee. Cows with calves less than six (6)
monthsof age at side shall be considered breeders also without further guarantee.
Cowsand heifersrepresented as "bred" are not guaranteed safe in calf but they and
open heifersselling asindividual lots are guaranteed to be breeders. No guarantee
shall apply to suckling calves.
In the event that a fem ale is claim ed to be a non-breeder, after having been bred
regularly to a bull known to be a breeder and after having been exam ined by a
licensed veterinarian, the m atter m ust be reported in writing to the seller within six
(6) monthsof sale date. For heifers under twelve (12) m onths of age and purchased
as single lots and who fail to conceive to the service of a bull known to be a breeder,
the matter m ust be reported in writing to the seller before the heiferreacheseighteen
(18) m onths of age. The sellershall have six (6) additional m onths in which to prove
any such fem ale a breeder and m ay use any registered bull of the breed available to
him . Any fem ale returned will be at the buyer's risk and m ust be in good health..
No guarantee isgiven that a pregnant fem ale will deliver live calves, nor that she will
carry the calves full term , nor that the calf carried will not be m um m ified. T he seller
is not responsible fordamage caused by foreign bodies nor for sickness not apparent
at sale time. Should any fem ale be transplanted or given injections for transplant, all
guarantees are void.
SET T LEM ENT OF GUARANTEES: Transportation charges on anim als returned to
the seller are for account of the buyer. No incidental expenses such as feed care,
A.I. signed fees, interest, veterinary charges, etc. will be charged by either party
when making settlem ent. If the seller is successful in proving the anim al in question
to be a breeder, then said anim al m ust be reclaim ed by the buyerat his expense.
Should the seller fail to prove the animal a breeder, then the buyer is guaranteed a
satisfactory replacement, F.O.B. ranch or location of origin, or a refund of the actual
purchase price paid. In no event shall the seller be responsible for m ore than the
original purchase price. Should a dispute arise over the quality of a replacem ent
anim al, T he Ontario Blonde d’Aquitaine Association or the Canadian Blonde
d'Aquitaine Association will appoint a m ediator.
SOLICITING
Prom oting the sale of cattle, other than those in the sale is frowned upon and
considered an unethical practice during any sale.
PAPERS
Each anim al will carry papers issued by the Canadian Blonde d'Aquitaine Association.
Prior certificates issued by the Canadian Blonde d'Aquitaine Association will be
furnished in the nam e of the new owner within six m onths. Grade anim als or
announcem ents from the blockexcluded, therefore buyersare urged to pay attention
to such announcem ents.
ACCIDENTS
Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and com fort of buyers,
neither T he Ontario Blonde d’Aquitaine Association, nor the Auctioneer, nor the
Owner assum es any responsibility in these m attersand disclaimsany liability, legal
or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.
