News Letter 2011
Report of activities:
World Peace Day:
As teachers are peace educators, we celebrated peace day on 21st Sep 2011 with a strong
determination to bring peace at local, national and global level. On 22nd Sep our brilliant students
went for “walk for a cause” in front of AC Office and had an interview with AC Mr.Arif Aziz to
bring peace in our area. It is rightly said “The more we sweat for peace the less we bleed in war.
Oath Taking Ceremony:
We intend to develop sense of responsibility in our students. For this purpose student
council was formed. The group captains were selected on the basis of annual result and behavior.
Oath taking ceremony was held at school on 23rd Sep 2011 Dr.Ayub distributed hand badges to
all group captains. He greatly admired our school’s discipline and determination, he saw in the
eyes of house captains.
Apple Day:
Apple day is globally celebrated on 21st Oct to describe diversity and to respect different
culture. So at Lyceum Dina Branch it was celebrated with full enthusiasm, zeal and zest.
Children enjoyed the event very much and it ended with smiles on their faces. So many games
were also played winners got their prizes from Mrs.Naqvi the Vice principal.
International Day of the Eradication of Poverty:
As it is rightly said that poverty is the parent of revolution and crime. We at Lyceum
Dina observed this day on 24th Oct 2011. Student recited poems, and Mrs.Naqvi threw light on
importance of observing this international day for the eradication of poverty.
Project Display:
Science and S.st projects were displayed at school on 29th Oct 2011. Students from class I
to V with the help of teachers made their projects. Their efforts were admired by parents who
came to see that event.
Teachers Day:
“Teachers teach with hearts not with their books.”
To pay regard to the efforts of teachers as nation builders at the Lyceum Dina. Teacher’s day
was celebrated on 5th Oct 2011. The event included special assembly program. Card competition
was held at KFC Mangla. In which teachers and students participated with full enthusiasm and
joy. The Lyceum corner was decorated beautifully and appreciated by all. Students and teachers
were awarded with certificates by KFC and school was presented with a shield. This
achievement brought happiness to all of us.
Mothers Day:
Along with the eternal devotion and affection for their kids, mothers have their
commendable role as a nation builder. To pay tribute to their exclusive efforts a special assembly
program was held on May 5th 2011. Student recited poems and displayed their beautiful cards.
Moreover at KFC Mangla, student of the Lyceum participated in a live card competition in
which winner got their prizes.
Environmental Drive by KFC:
On May 4th 2011 KFC convened an environmental drive at our school in which it showed
a movie, followed by Q/A session, chicky dance, and distribution of awareness booklets among
all students. This drive was aimed to teach student how to save our environment resources and
recycle the waste items.
Annual English Speech Competition:
We at the Lyceum not only educate students but also equip them with confidence, self
dependence and discipline. Today in this Global Era a person must know how to express himself
and should have the power of persuasion.
So, we held an English speech competition at Lyceum Mangla Branch on 30th Sep
2011.Students was well prepared by the members of English Club. Students were divided into
three groups. Each group had given a different topic to speak on. Hall was well decorated and
beatified decently. Special guests were invited to judge the event, they were Mrs. Tayyaba
Sarfaraz (English lec. of Government College) and Miss Samia Kausar.Dicipline was maintained
by all the teachers. Students listened to the speakers silently. All the participants were given
three minutes to speak on the respective topic. All the participants did very well. In the end result
were announced.
Eid Milan Party:
Eid-ul-Fitar is a religious festival which Muslims of the whole world celebrate after
fasting in the month of Ramadan with great zeal and zest.
Eid Millan Party was celebrated in The Lyceum Mangla Branch on 16th Sep 2011 to rejoice and
refresh the memories of Eid Day celebrations. A one dish party was arranged. Students wore
colorful and traditional dresses. Teachers and students had great fun and got a fantastic
opportunity to enjoy together.
