SuRROGACY Option 5: “Twins”
2 Surrogates / 1 Egg donor
The “Twins” option implants two surrogates with two embryos
simultaneously. The benefits are twofold:
Because the procedure implants both surrogates with fresh
embryos, there is a much higher probability of pregnancy than the
same procedure performed consecutively. Each fresh embryo
transfer has a 75% chance of success; meaning that there is a 55%
chance the procedure will result in two pregnancies. “Twins” who
are carried by two different surrogates.
Many couples choose this procedure because there is a very high
probability that at least one surrogate will become pregnant (over
90% likelihood of a successful pregnancy). In cases where the
couple has few embryos, or does not want to take the additional
months to repeat the implantation procedure, this procedure
gives them their best option for success.
In the case of same-sex couples, each of the Future Fathers
can be the genetic father of one of the twins. In this case one
child will be genetically descended from each other, but will be
genetically linked to each other through the egg donor.
Note that unlike other agencies that offer a “2 surrogate /
1 pregnancy” procedure, this procedure does not include
terminating one of the pregnancies. With the Twins procedure,
both babies are intended to be carried full term to their loving
family.
The price schedule to the right assumes the couple will use an
egg donor from an international agency. Local Mexican egg
donors are also available.
