2014 ANNUAL REPORT
FOR PEOPLE
NOT PROFIT
MIRACLE LEAGUE OF INDIANA COUNTY
Providing everyone a chance to play ball
MLOIC is affiliated with the National Miracle League with over
250 organizations across the country. While more than eighty of
them have completed construction on their fields, the rest are in
various stages of development. The national organization has a
goal of more than 500 Miracle League fields, including several
international locations that will serve approximately 1.3 million
children. This goal is being realized with the help of communities,
volunteers, parents, donors, individual sponsors, and corporate
sponsors. Someday, this program will be offered in every city in
the country so special needs children around the globe will have
the same opportunity. For now, however, the focus is on the
Miracle League of Indiana County. Are you ready to contribute?
MLOIC is carefully developing its rules and regulations to make
sure fun is had by all of the children and their families.
 Each player will get to bat, circle the bases and score a run
in each inning.
 No player will be called “out” on the bases.
 There will be two innings per game.
 Teams use a 9-inch soft-core safety baseball with synthetic
cover.
 Each player will receive a trophy at the end of the season.
LOOK TO THE FUTURE
Middle School Initiative, Student Advisory Council, K Readiness - Camp
We believe that all children deserve the
opportunity to discover who they are and what
they can achieve.
 In 2015, the YMCA will open its’ doors to
the entire IJHS student population. That’s
grades 6, 7 and 8. This program will be
piloted for the first year to see how well
membership and participation does before
we open the opportunity to the entire
county.
 Coming 2015-2016 school year, the YMCA
will be developing a Student Advisory
Council in both the IHS and IJHS to help
better connect with teens. These students
will form their own board of directors,
committees, activities and fundraising
opportunities throughout the year.
 In Day Camp 2015, the children in the
Pre-K group will begin a Kindergarten
readiness program developed in
cooperation with the IASD kindergarten
teachers. This program will help ready
children for the school year to come.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
Nurturing the potential of every child and teen
We believe that children deserve the opportunity to
develop and grow in an enriching environment with the
support of caring adults to provide guidance and
encouragement along the way.
2014 HIGHLIGHTS:
 We enabled more than 208 youth to enjoy day camp,
making friends, gaining confidence, developing skills, and
creating lifelong memories.
 We encouraged 361 children to stretch their skills in
mind and body by offering family-centered, values-based
programs to nurture children’s healthy development.
 We inspired and empowered teens with leadership skills
and values; encouraged good decision making and
healthy living habits through our Teen Leaders, L.I.T.
Camp, Middle School Initiative (6th, 7th and 8th grade
memberships) to 43 different IJHS students, and the
development and implementation of the YMCA Junior
Board.
HEALTHY LIVING
Improving our community’s health and well-being
At the YMCA it is our goal to provide fitness options
for everyone no matter their fitness experience. Our
programs encourage individuals and families to
participate in exercise, sports, fun and friendship.
2014 HIGHLIGHTS:
 We motived and supported healthier lifestyles by
introducing improved programs specifically for
individuals who cannot achieve their goals on their
own. These programs consisted of weight loss,
nutrition and fitness challenges to motivate
members and meet their fitness goals.
 Staying healthy is very important to the YMCA of
Indiana County and our members. In 2014, we
offered over 60 different FREE group exercise class
every week (for both water and land workouts).
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Giving back and providing support to our neighbors
At the Y everyone is equal and no one should not
be able to participate in a program due to financial
difficulties. We open doors into the Y to help
prevent chronic disease and build healthier
communities through collaborations. Every day,
volunteers, donors, leaders and partners are
empowering people to be healthy, confident,
connected and secure.
2014 HIGHLIGHTS:
 We continued to make the Y accessible to all.
Through their generosity 306 donors helped our
enable us to improve the lives of many youth,
adults and families through $262,696 of
Financial Assistance in 2014.
 In 2014, Big Hearts Little Hands served more
than 85 different children and matched 48
children with a mentor. The program also
provided 12 fieldtrips, activities and special
events for the Bigs and Littles to participate in.
COMMUNITY BENEFITS
OUR CAUSE IS OUR PEOPLE
We are able to take dollars and create change in our community because of the remarkable support of our friends and neighbors right here in
Indiana County. Through the generosity of our donors, the dedication of our staff, and the support of countless volunteers we bring Youth
Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility to life. At every opportunity we strive to engage families and nurture children and connect
people of all ages or stages of life. These are the reasons we are able to do so much for our community.

DONATIONS AT WORK
A donor may be inspired to give to ensure a child experiences camp for
the first time; or to give an older adult the opportunity to maintain
their independence a little longer; or to give a single parent the chance
to spend some quality time with their children. We have the deepest
appreciation for those who help us help others. Every dollar donated is
used to provide direct assistance to our members and program
participants. It is these donations that allow us to remove barriers of
all kinds, creating a place we are proud to share with our community.
