MAY 2016 ASSOCIATION OF YMCA PROFESSIONALS CHAPTER 7 NEWSLETTER CHAPTER 7 GOALS Dear Colleagues, Provide ongoing support, engagement and relevant information related through social media, newsletters, workshops and events As we enjoy the spring season with the hopes of warmth and natures rebirth I cannot help but see the connection to what I see as my role as chapter president, as well as the national AYP office – rejuvenation. Develop future leaders to support AYP Chapter 7 board and committees I have recently returned from the AYP Leadership Summit. Natalie Norton and the National AYP office and board members have produced a detailed Fundamental Principle plan that will guide AYP focus and leadership. This plan will also guide the development, delivery and direction of all AYP experiences. Deliver quality workshops/events to support member professional and personal growth LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT One of the main goals within our chapter strategic plan will be to focus intensively on inspiring, connecting and empowering Y leaders in the first decade of their careers. I encourage all Y staff (whether you are a member or not) to attend our Annual Recognition Event on June 9 at Lake Ontario Winery & Vineyards Bistro. This event will provide a wonderful opportunity for you to meet the nominees for the award categories. All of the nominees bring a wealth of experience.
