3
EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF SEVILLE IN SPRING
Spring brings with it two of the most important celebrations in the world,
each with a different character: Holy Week and the Feria de Abril. +Info
Holy Week
Hope of Triana along the bridge and Reyes
Catolicos Street at 4:00 a.m. An alternative is
the Brotherhood of Silence on Francos Street
and Plaza del Salvador. Holy Week is an
extraordinary and surprising experience.
Holy Week in Seville is both: a demonstration
of religious fervor and a tourist and
sociocultural show, which brings together
some splendid examples of Seville’s religious
sculpture and crafts. All of this is wrapped in
the magic of Seville with its scent of orange
blossoms and incense in early Spring.
The parade of many guilds in a procession
lasting from the morning of Holy Thursday
until Good Friday morning is known as
La Madrugá. During this time, the most
charismatic images take to the streets of
Seville and these are certainly very exciting
moments. It is impressive to see the
procession of the Brotherhood of the Great
Power, in the Plaza de San Lorenzo, from
1.00 a.m. or the Brotherhood of the Macarena
on Resolana and Feria Street at 2:00 a.m.
Then later you can watch the Brotherhood of
Feria de Abril
In short order, Seville changes its
atmosphere of mysticism for one of an
explosion of color and joy focused on the
Real de la Feria, (a space that is filled
with booths where people dance and have
fun.) This is a week which begins with the
“Alumbrao” or lighting up the fairgrounds
with thousands of lightbulbs and during
which Seville lives for partying, music, food,
dancing and fun, creating a very special
atmosphere.

COME TO VALENCIA!
Few cities like Valencia are able to combine so harmoniously the vestiges from remote periods (dated to 138 BC) with the most innovative and
avant-garde buildings that were erected in the new millennium. Valencia is
trade and culture, cinema, theater, museums, music, business. It is the center of international and cutting edge design and one of the busiest cities for
fairs and congresses in Europe. Here are some ideas for you to enjoy the best
of the city. +Info
A paella with sea view
The Arabs introduced rice in town paving the
way for the signature dish of Valencia and
a symbol of Spanish cuisine worldwide, the
paella. You can try it in one of the restaurants
located in the Playa de las Arenas area, with
panoramic sea views.
Living Las Fallas:
Living our most international festival, Las
Fallas, is to vibrate with a “Mascletá,” get
excited about the Offering and enjoy the
satire and humor of more than 400 Fallas
monuments that crown streets and plazas
across the city from March 15 to 19. A 24-
hour party awaits you, with holiday fireworks,
rock concerts and verbenas or fairs in every
corner of the city.
Horchata
The coolest sip: Do not miss out on this
popular drink made with fruit that is grown
only in the Valencian countryside: the chufa
(tiger nut). Find your terrace to savor this
drink in the heart of the city; you will enjoy it
more!

CACERES: SPANISH CAPITAL OF CUISINE
Caceres, the capital, is a standard for the culinary excellence of Extremadura;
it will be the Spanish capital of gastronomy in 2015. +Info
The exquisite cuisine of Caceres begins
long before the dishes arrive at the table,
thanks to the wealth of a privileged land,
which supplies this cuisine with high quality
products. The flavors, smells and mix of
dishes cannot be understood without the
ham, cheese, paprika, cherries, olive oil,
lamb, veal, and a host of products from the
pasture and steppes of Extremadura; the
authentic larders of this city.
Come to Caceres and participate in all
activities and gastronomic events that will
be held to celebrate its designation as the

Spain is a great destination for fans of motorcycling, not only because of
the number of fans there, but also because it is the only country that welcomes four World races. +Info
The first event on the World Championship
calendar is the Spanish Grand Prix. It is
one of the most anticipated and massively
attended events of the entire tournament, and
takes place on the legendary Jerez circuit, in
Cadiz. It is a unique weekend, in which you

SKIING IN SPAIN

SKIING IN SPAIN
If you like to ski you should start thinking about Spain as a destination for next
season. Our country is the ideal place for this sport. Quality snow and many
hours of sunshine during the winter, coupled with first-class facilities and a wide
range of complementary activities, make Spain the place where skiers increasingly
practice this sport. You have at your disposal 34 ski resorts spread throughout the
country. It’s just a matter of choosing. +Info
Sierra Nevada is one of the best ski resorts
Catalan Pyrenees: About 400 kilometers of
in Spain. Its height above sea level guarantees
snow during winter. Its international importance,
proximity to the coast and pleasant climate has
made it a “not to be missed” winter destination for
many European skiers.
marked trails total ten ski resorts in the Catalan
Pyrenees. These are places of extraordinary
natural beauty, dotted with cozy mountain villages
that today offer their unique folk architecture and
monuments as a complement to skiing.
The Cantabrian Coast: Its stations are
ideal for family skiing and for lovers of nature in
general.
Aragonese Pyrenees: Its stations are
characterized by their youthful, sporty atmosphere.
All are very close together and surrounded by the
attractive landscape of the Pyrenean Aragonese
mountains, with heights of more than three
thousand meters. The excellent roads departing
from the airport in Madrid help to make this an
easy three-hour trip easy from the capital.
The Iberian System: It offers well designed
facilities for learning and for skiing in a
surprisingly quiet environment. Its trails facilitate
the practice of this sport in combination with
cultural tourism in the neighboring capitals:
Segovia, Avila, Salamanca and Zamora.
