Auction Procedures
Registration
Upon entering the auction, you will receive your bidder number. Use only the bidder number assigned to you
for bidding on silent and live auction items.
Silent Auction
The Silent Auction opens at 5:00 PM, and various sections close at different times according to the Auction
Schedule on the Welcome page. The minimum bid and minimum raise for each item is written on the bid sheet
by the item. To be valid, bids must comply with these minimums and be legible.
To place a bid, print your bidder number with your bid amount on the bid sheet. Where there is a single item
listed for sale, the last (highest value) bid entered prior to the section closing will be the winning bid.
Where there is more than one item for sale in a package, the items are "Fixed Price." For "Fixed Price" items,
the first bidders to sign the bid sheet automatically win. For example, if there are 10 places available at an
event, the first 10 bidders who sign the sheet will win the 10 places at the specified price.
Please be sure to check dates of events when bidding on parties or events.
The Auction Committee reserves the right to withdraw any item at any time without notice before the actual
sale. In the event of a dispute, the Auction Committee shall act as final authority in determining the winning bid.
Live Auction
When bidding during the Live Auction, please hold up your bidder number toward the auctioneer. The Live
Auction will continue until all items are sold. If a group is bidding on a single item, please designate one person
to place your combined bid. A bid acknowledged by the auctioneer is a winning bid.
Checkout, Payment and Fast Checkout
Checkout will begin only after all Silent and Live Auction items have been recorded. The Checkout volunteers
will provide an invoice listing the items you have won, their prices and the total due. For your convenience we
gladly accept Cash, Check, Discover, MasterCard and Visa.
Fast Checkout: No waiting to pay!
If you have provided your credit card information on our secure check-in system, you have the option of taking
your invoice from Checkout directly to Pick-Up. We will submit your payment to the secure payment vender after
the auction, and we will email or US mail your itemized receipt listing your purchases and your total paid amount.
If you must leave early, you may pay by cash, check or credit card at coffee hour on November 16 or 23.
Pick-Up
After receiving your invoice at Checkout, take your invoice to the Pick-Up Table. Volunteers will retrieve your gift
cards or gift certificates from businesses, and certificates for dinners, parties, and other multi-winner events. Contact information for these events is provided on the certificates.
6
Terms of Sale
Unless otherwise noted, all certificates for goods and services must be used within one year of the auction date.
All items and services are subject to the terms and conditions specified by the donors.
All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds.
No statement made in this catalog or made orally at the auction or elsewhere shall be deemed such a warranty
for tax purposes or market value. Items have not been appraised unless otherwise noted.
Reservations for trips, vacation accommodations, dinners, etc. must be mutually arranged with the donor unless
otherwise noted. No refunds will be allowed on any tickets and/or accommodations. Winners are allowed to
transfer their place at an event to another person in the congregation, provided the transfer is approved in advance by the host of the event.
Tax Information
This catalog lists the fair market value of each item. The fair market value is based on the donor's appraisal.
Any amount you pay in excess of the fair market value would normally be available to you as a charitable contribution for tax purposes. Please check with your tax advisor for specifics.
