begin, when we will travel to a new region of the world. We
will learn about the culture and language of various countries and spend time on the computer using software in the
language of that country. Look out world here we come!
Computer Explorers: Clay Animation & Movie Making
Students will work as a part of a small team as they participate in the planning, producing, and screening of their own
clay animation movies. The first step consist of developing
a storyboard and script, the creation of clay characters and
background scenery and producing the stop motion animation images with a digital camera. Learn new skills and
uncover hidden talent as you and your team create your very
own one of a kind movie!
Computer Explorers: Create an E Book All children love
creating a good story and what is better than an E-book?
Each camper will write an original story, animate their
drawing, and add sound effects to create a one of a kind
story. Imagine the fun of reading a book that actually allows
you to look behind a tree as you search for your lost puppy.
Computer Explorers: Dynamite Dino Discovery Let your
camper become a summer paleontologist. Learn amazing
dinosaur facts and the techniques used in extracting fossils in
this hands-on class. You and your team will go on your own
fossil dig, analyze and assemble skeleton pieces, produce a
fossil reconstruction and then create a mural based on all
that you have learned.
Computer Explorers: Dream Design Your camper will be
amazed as they develop the skills that will allow them to
resize images and rearrange images to create their version of
the perfect playground. Working with a design team they
will do just that.
Computer Explorers: Fungineering Join us as we explore,
investigate and solve problems using the building blocks of
engineering-simple machines. Students enjoy hands-on
activities with levers, gears, wheels, axels and pulleys that
incorporate Math, Science and Creativity. During each
session students design, test, redesign and retest their machines in hopes of enhancing performance!
Computer Explorers: IPad Palooza Yes, it will be as much
fun as it sounds. Each day will follow a theme and we will
introduce our young campers to a series of great apps that
follow that theme. They will create an “Awesome Apps”
book to bring home so you can join in the fun!
Computer Explorers: Junior Crime Scene Investigation
Imagine learning some basic skills that will help to solve a
simple crime just like they do on TV. We will examine hair
samples, fingerprints, fibers and more as we learn to unravel
the case of “Who Ate the Birthday Cake”!
Computer Explorers: New Jersey Idol! Bring your singing
voice or musical talent and get ready for some fun. We will
participate as contestants, judges, stage-hands or directors as
we recreate this famous show. Students will create the show
and bring home a copy of it for your home viewing pleasure.
Computer Explorers: Robots & Programming Let your
child answer the questions, what exactly is a robot and just
what is the function of a programmer? Learn to create your
own simple programs and input them into our mini robots
Bee-Bot, Pro-Bot and Roamer using progressively more
complex keypads. We will maneuver our robots through
obstacle courses, create pictures and even make music.
Computer Explorers: Under the Microscope Our junior
scientists will learn to examine the world around them in a
very up-close and personal manner. We will use our vision,
magnifying glasses and a child-friendly digital microscope to
learn more about our world. Students will explore magnification, science, nature study and digital editing.
