Message from the Chairman
We are in for some exciting times in the cattle industry!
You can feel the electricity in the air, and see people’s smiles
at the auction markets’ 2015 fall run.
Welcome to the 30th Annual Canadian Bull Congress!
I would like to thank all the people involved over the last 30 years that have made
the Canadian Bull Congress such a huge, huge success!
Come see some of the best genetics in the world.
David Vikse, Chairman
Canadian Bull Congress
Message from the President
On behalf of the CRE board of directors, management and staff, I would like to
welcome you to the 30th annual Canadian Bull Congress.
This is an international event that brings producers and buyers from all over the
world together to showcase their animals, and provide a unique opportunity to
expand their marketing network face to face with their peers, all under one roof,
and all in one weekend.
It is also an opportunity for companies to showcase their product lines to some
of the most progressive cattle producers in the world.
In addition to the cattle shows, our Bull Congress Committee and our Major Events and Agricultural
Marketing Manager, Marilyn Lee, have worked hard to put together an unforgettable weekend of
entertainment, food and education for all in attendance.
Last year, we expanded on the School Education Program in an effort to further educate young people
about the Agricultural Industry. It was a huge success with over 650 students and teachers attending,
and it is our intent to expand this program yet again in 2016. What better way to bring urban and rural
cultures together?
I would like to thank you, our sponsors, exhibitors, producers and volunteers, for making this the
premier event that it has become, and hope to see you in January.
Dave Chamberlain, President
Camrose Regional Exhibition

Message from the County
30 years! Welcome to the 30th Canadian Bull Congress.
2015 proved to be a year of extremes. Historically high beef prices were offset by
widespread drought and corresponding feed shortages.
Nevertheless, you in the beef industry showed, once again, your top management
skills in adapting to the challenges and opportunities of 2015. And those are the
characteristics of the beef industry: resilience, managing and meeting challenges head
on, and planning for next year.
The 2016 Bull Congress is a marvelous showcase for producers and exhibitors. As well,
there is a top-notch program involving school children and the general public.
On behalf of County Council and the residents of the County, we extend a heartfelt thanks to the Board of
Directors, the CRE staff, all the volunteers and exhibitors for all their efforts in making this 30th Bull Congress
such a valuable and important part of Alberta’s cattle industry.
Reeve Don Gregorwich, Camrose County
Message from the Mayor
On behalf of Camrose City Council, I would like to welcome you to the Canadian
Bull Congress. We should all acknowledge this outstanding event that has provided an
opportunity for cattlemen and agricultural related product and service exhibitors to
work with each other to continue to grow our cattle industry over the past 30 years.
Dedication and hard work are demonstrated consistently from the Camrose Regional
Exhibition and the Canadian Bull Congress to promote and market our cattle
industry on local, national and international levels.
I hope that you enjoy the hospitality from our City and that you’ll allow us to
welcome you back to Camrose for years to come.
Norm Mayer, Mayor, City of Camrose
Message from the Minister
As Minister of Alberta Agriculture and Forestry, it is my pleasure to bring greetings
from the Government of Alberta and to welcome you to the 2016 Canadian Bull
Congress.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of this premier agricultural event, a cause for
great celebration. The Canadian Bull Congress brings together key partners in our
cattle industry, along with numerous other livestock and agricultural exhibitors
to share information and resources, showcase their products and learn from one
another.
Alberta’s beef and cattle industry is second to none. We continue to be the largest
cattle-producing province in Canada, and the quality of our products is, without question, among the best in
the world. Our well-earned reputation for excellence is thanks to the hard work of producters, breeders and
all the members of the cattle sector. Events like the Canadian Bull Congress help to build on this tradition and
ultimately lead to our continued success.
Thank you to the organizers for making this event possible, and for your dedication to Alberta’s livestock
industry. I wish you and all the visitors to the Congress a prosperous 2016.
Oneil Carlier, Minister of Agriculture Forestry

LIABILITY INSURANCE INFORMATION
FORWARD THE CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE FORM TO YOUR INSURANCE AGENT, WHO CAN FAX
THE COMPLETED FORM DIRECTLY TO CANADIAN BULL CONGRESS AT (780)672-8140.
What is liability insurance and why is it important?
Liability insurance covers claims made against you by third parties who allege that something you did or failed
to do caused them some kind of bodily injury or property damage. The insurance protects you in two ways:
• It will pay amounts you owe to a third party because of court judgement or an out-of-court settlement of a
claim.
• It will provide you with a legal defence when a claim is made against you, regardless of whether you were
negligent or not.
If you do not have liability insurance when a claim is made against you, you must pay your own legal costs and,
if you are found liable, you will have to pay the settlement/judgement. The legal costs involved in fighting a
claim can be substantial and, in today’s legal climate, claim settlements and awards are becoming even larger.
Without insurance, you will have to use your assets to cover those costs.
Why does Camrose Regional Exhibition care about your liability insurance?
To make sure that both you and the CRE are protected against claims that may arise from your participation in
the Canadian Bull Congress. We believe that if you do not have liability insurance in place while you are on our
premises, CRE’s liability risk is increased.
It is possible that your activities at the Canadian Bull Congress could result in someone getting injured or
having property damaged, and then suing you. Some examples might be if your animal kicks a child passing by
the stall and causes a serious injury, or if your animal gets loose on the way to the trailer and damages a vehicle.
Lawyers typically name as many parties as possible in a lawsuit, so it is very likely that the CRE would be named
in a suit against you, simply because the incident took place on our premises, even though we had nothing
whatsoever to do with the incident (this is called ‘vicarious liability’). If the lawsuit is successful on the basis that,
for example, you negligently failed to control your animal, a judgement will be awarded to the injured person.
A legal principle called ‘joint and several liability’ means that every party named in the lawsuit could become
responsible to pay the judgment awarded even if the finding of negligence was solely against one. The effect of
that, if you have either no liability insurance or insufficient coverage to pay the award and legal fees, is that the
other parties who were named may end up paying the cost of your negligence. If that obligation were to fall on
the CRE, our insurer may be required to pay and can then take action against you and your assets to recover
what it has had to pay.
Why does the CRE and City of Camrose wish to be named as Additional Insured on your policy?
To ensure that, if the CRE and City of Camrose is named in a lawsuit against you alleging that your negligence
caused the injury or damage, CRE is protected against vicarious liability as was explained above. This only
applies if there is no negligence on the part of the CRE. Naming the CRE and City of Camrose as Additional
Insured on your policy does not mean that you will be insuring the CRE’s negligence. Note that naming
the CRE as ‘Additional Insured’ is very different from ‘Additional Named Insured’. If your insurance agent has
questions, please have them call the CRE at 780-672-3640 for clarification.

BULL-NANZA RAFFLE RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. An exhibitor can enter more than one bull. Entry fee of $100 applies for each entry.
2. If an exhibitor’s ticket is the winning ticket, he/she will not be allowed to choose their own bull.
3. Any bull entered into Bull-nanza Raffle during CBC must be included in your private breeders’ pen.
4. All Bull-nanza entries will receive signage in order for them to be easily recognized by ticket buyers and public
in general.
5. The bull must be owned by the exhibitor entering the raffle. An affidavit must be completed and signed by bull owner
to verify that the animal is eligible for transfer to a new owner if chosen.
6. Open to any bulls. All entries must be ringed or have a humbug while in the show ring. All animals displayed in the
Canadian Bull Congress must be tagged with a CCIA approved tag.
7.The owner of a bull that is chosen by the grand prize ticket winner will receive $7,500 paid by cheque.
8. There will be a maximum of 30 bulls.
9. Deadline for entering a bull is December 14, 2015.
10. No one under the age of 18 years may enter a bull or purchase a raffle ticket or have their name put on the raffle ticket.
11. Raffle tickets will be sold at $40 per ticket. There are 250 tickets printed. All cheques must be payable to Camrose
Regional Exhibition.
12. Committee members or members of their immediate family can enter a bull, and committee members may purchase
raffle tickets.
13. There will be no cancellations or refunds on purchased raffle tickets or entered bulls. Substitutions will be allowed for
the entered bulls up to 10:00 p.m., January 21, 2016.
14. Ticket sales will be cut off on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at approximately 11:30 a.m.
15. Ten names will be drawn from the barrel for the grand prize draw.
16. The 10 semi-finalists or representatives will enter the show ring and be present when the entered bulls parade into the
show ring. The 10 names will be put back into a clean draw barrel.
17. The draw will then take place in reverse order with the last ticket in the draw barrel being the winning ticket and have
the opportunity to pick the bull. Tickets that are drawn from tenth to second will be awarded donated prizes.
18. The grand prize draw will take place on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at approximately 3:30 p.m. or after the Pen of Three Bull
Show in Camrose County Show Pavilion (Barn A) show ring at Camrose Regional Exhibition.
19. The grand prize winner must choose a bull when in the show ring. If the grand prize winner or their representative
is not present, then the Canadian Bull Congress chairman will contact the winner by phone and arrangements
will be made to choose an animal. If the prize, as chosen by the chairman, is not claimed within 24 hours of the draw,
then the prize will be sold or put up for auction. A cheque will be given to the winner for the net proceeds from
the sale or auction – with a minimum of $1,500 to be guaranteed by Canadian Bull Congress.
20. Possession of the bull takes place the moment the grand prize winner chooses the bull. This bull will not be removed
from the show prior to 5:00 p.m. on January 23, 2016.
21. The winner or representative’s choice of bull is final. No substitutions can be made after the choice has been made.
22. There is no cash in lieu of bull option. The winner must claim the bull as his/her prize. The raffle winner is responsible
for his own livestock transportation from the show.
23. Camrose Regional Exhibition, Canadian Bull Congress, members, families or other associates are agents of this draw
only. We are not responsible for the breeding performance, soundness, body condition or any other defect of the
animal chosen.
