SYNOPSIS (THIS OUTLINES THE FLOW OF THE PARTY EVENTS)
In the mid-1950s, Fontaine City had a severe problem with teenaged street gangs with the east versus the west side of town.
There was the hot rod racing gang called the D-Birds in the east. Their ladies were members of the girly clique called the Pink
Chicks. These rebels went to school at Ryder High and spent their free time at their local hangout called Frosty’s Diner. Over
on the west side of town, there was a motorcycle gang that went by the name of the Pit Vipers and their ladies were called the
Black Widows. These hooligans attended Tuscadero High School and spent their free time at their local hangout - the
Milkshake Shack. Occasionally, a dangerous drag race on Lightening Road would take place or a skirmish would break out if
the opposing gangs discovered each other on their turfs or with their ladies, but for the most part - the Fontaine Police
Department had the situation under control.
At Ryder High, the cheerleaders formed the Campus Crew which was focused on reducing gangs and gang activity in the city.
They thought that bringing the teens of Fontaine City together would help to solve the gang problem so they scheduled what
was known to them as the Fontaine City 'Friendship' Sock Hop.
To their surprise, both teens from the east and west arrived on the scene in fabulous '50s attire and enjoyed yummy appetizers
while quizzing each other on fun '50s trivia. They engaged in thrilling party games such as the So You Think You Can ’50s
Contest! The guests, for the most part, surprisingly got along without a hitch but it was soon unveiled that there was even an
internal strife happening within the gangs. The Campus Crew got things back on track with a delicious '50s dinner while the
guests drained their brains with a Sprinkle of the '50s Movie Challenge. To everyone’s shock, a murder victim was discovered
and the teens quickly rallied together to figure out whodunit before the murderer could escape. After Detective Watson from
the Fontaine City P.D. performed a preliminary forensic analysis of the crime scene, each guest submitted their final guesses of
whodunit and took turns accusing each other. Then, everyone admitted to any involvement they had with the crime and the
murderer confessed! After a brilliant escape attempt, the guests calmed everything down with another fun party game.
Overall it was a sock hop that nobody in Fontaine City will ever forget!

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION
COSTUME
SUGGESTIONS
Bonnie Frizzo (aka: ‘Frizzo’), a senior at Ryder High School, is the
aggressive and opinionated leader of the east side girl’s clique,
the Pink Chicks. Frizzo refuses to conform to society’s rules and
constantly crosses the line with the local law enforcement who
would like nothing better than to find her guilty of something. With
this hard exterior, nobody realizes she is quite vulnerable…
including her boyfriend Kermicky.
‘50s attire and any type
of pink satin jacket
(optional). Hair in a high
pony tail with a scarf or if
short, in pin curls.
Cho Cho is the hottest hand jive dancer in the nation! She’s also
the feisty leader of the west side lady’s street crew called the
Black Widows. The Black Widows are notorious for being cruel
and insensitive – especially to their rivals, the Pink Chicks. They
are only allowed to socialize with the boys of the west side’s Pit
Vipers.
Glamorous 1950s attire
(sequined poodle skirt,
etc.) Hair in a high pony
tail with a scarf or if
short, in pin curls. Black
satin jacket (optional).
Manny Zooko is definitely on Fontaine City’s most handsome list even though he’s a shameless egomaniac. Manny’s a rebel
against cultural norms but with good intentions at heart. He is an
avid drag racer of his hot rod that he lovingly calls Thunder
Wonder which is the fastest car in town and unbeatable at
Lightening Road. Manny is the valiant and extremely loyal leader
of the gang, the D-Birds.
White t-shirt, rolled blue
jeans and an optional
leather jacket that says
‘D-Birds’
Originally hailing from Australia, Sandra D. Bolson will be the
newest member of the Pink Chicks. A high school senior at Ryder
High School, Sandra spews charisma and charm with her
wholesome personality. However, it is rumored that this goody
two shoes has a hidden devious side.
‘50s attire and any type
of pink satin jacket
(optional). Hair in a high
pony tail with a scarf or if
short, in pin curls.
Kermicky is the hard-edged member of the D-Birds and senior at
Ryder High. Known as the toughest man in Fontaine City, the rival
west side Pit Vipers leave his gang well enough alone! However,
trouble’s brewing on the horizon as it’s rumored that Kermicky lost
his edge and recently backed down from a fight with a ninth
grader! Once Theo Valmudo gets wind of this, the D-Birds might
be in serious danger.
White t-shirt, rolled blue
jeans and an optional
leather jacket that says
‘D-Birds’
Finchy is one of the sweetest and most caring members of the
Pink Chicks. Finchy will do absolutely anything for a friend in need
– even to her detriment! Against warnings from her guardian
angel named Frankie, Finchy recently dropped out of high school
to pursue an education in cosmetology. Rumor has it that she is
currently regretting her decision!
‘50s attire and any type
of pink satin jacket
(optional). Hair in a high
pony tail with a scarf or if
short, in pin curls.
Optional to get a pink wig
and ‘50s style glasses.
Theo Valmudo is the bluntly honest leader of The Pit Vipers of
Fontaine City. He’s the extremely charming ‘bad boy’ that’s known
to catch a few forbidden eyes belonging to the Pink Chicks – the
ladies from the east side of town. Theo constantly terrorizes the
members of his rival gang, the D-Birds – but only if Kermicky’s not
around.

Potzie Doody, a recent graduate from Ryder High School,
immediately followed in his father’s footsteps and became a
mechanic in his father’s shop on the east side of Fontaine City –
Big Al’s Auto Repair. Potzie Doody is Manny Zooko’s ‘right hand
man’ and is the oldest member of the D-Birds.
White t-shirt, rolled blue
jeans and an optional
leather jacket that says
‘D-Birds.’ Name tag for
‘Big Al’s Auto Repair’ is
optional.
Sonny Webber is a student at Tuscadero High School on the west
side of town and he’s a severely radical and irrational member of
the Pit Vipers. He works as a soda jerk at the local west side
hangout, the Milkshake Shack, with his friend and member of the
Black Widows, Jonni Cuttingham.
White t-shirt, rolled blue
jeans and an optional
leather jacket that says
‘D-Birds’
Marla Marachino is the ultra-feminine member of the east side
lady’s clique, the Pink Chicks and she works as a carhop at the
local east side hangout, Frosty’s Diner. Constantly checking her
appearance behind a compact mirror, this pampered princess has
her eyes fixed on the boys of the D-Birds for sure! However,
Marla often gets into trouble as her eyes tend to wander towards
the boys from the rival gang…especially their leader- Theo
Valmudo!
Any type of pink satin
jacket (optional). ‘50s
style waitress uniform.
Roller skates as an
optional accessory. Hair
in a high pony tail with a
scarf or if short, in pin
curls. Name tag for
‘Frosty’s Diner’ is
optional.
Jonni Cuttingham is the popular class clown at Tuscadero High
School and a waitress at the west side teen hangout – the
Milkshake Shack. When she was ten years old, she moved from
the east to the west side of town but still remembers her dreams
of the day she could become a member of the infamous east side
girl clique – the Pink Chicks! If the Black Widows ever found out
about that, she’d be in big trouble!
‘50s style waitress
uniform. Roller skates as
an optional accessory.
Hair in a high pony tail
with a scarf or if short, in
pin curls. Black satin
jacket (optional). Name
tag for ‘Milkshake Shack’
is optional.
When it comes to being wild and crazy, Lavrin De Frappio is a
force to be reckoned with! This hard-working soda factory worker
graduated from Tuscadero High School just last year and had a
job the very next day! Lavrin De Frappio is far from feminine and
is often seen as ‘one of the guys.’ She is an extremely loyal, longterm member of the Black Widows.
Factory worker uniform –
retro is preferred. A
large ‘L’ on the chest of
the uniform. Hair in a
high pony tail with a scarf
or if short, in pin curls.
Black satin jacket
(optional). Name tag for
‘Fontaine Soda Factory’
is optional.
Cheryl Feenie is the ultra-intelligent Student Class Representative
of Ryder High School. She is not affiliated with gangs and doesn’t
condone that type of activity. She frequently tries to infiltrate
herself, however, into that social scene so she can put a stop to it
once and for all. Cheryl is always found carrying her stuffed rabbit!
She claims it gives her the power of foresight but it’s most likely
just a childhood ‘security blanket’ that she can’t let go of.
Conservative 1950s
attire. Stuffed animal
rabbit as an optional
prop. Hair in a high pony
tail with a scarf or if
short, in pin curls.
Richie Fonzrelli is the tenacious quarterback on the Tuscadero
High School football team. A graduating senior, he’s an excellent
role model as the Valedictorian of his class, President of the
National Honor Society, and he volunteers daily at the local
nursing home. He can’t help but do the right thing in any given
situation! Richie, however, has a huge problem with any students
who participate in gang activity. He often uses his powers of
influence and popularity to campaign against them.
Retro football uniform.
Optional to have a
football as a prop.

Cheer Squad
Patricia Grimlox is the spunky cheerleading captain for Ryder
High School. Patricia is known for founding the ‘Ryder High
Campus Crew’ which is a club made up of mostly cheerleaders
from her squad that are focused on ‘cleaning up the school’ and
setting great examples for behavior and social etiquette. The
Campus Crew members receive a lot of ridicule from the kids that
don’t buy into their philosophy…such as the members of the Pink
Chicks and the D-Birds.
Retro cheerleading
uniform. Pom-poms and
megaphone as optional
props. Hair in a high
pony tail with a scarf or if
short, in pin curls.
*IMPORANT INFORMATION REGARDING CHARACTER ASSIGNMENTS:
Assign your most definite RSVPs and outgoing guests to the required characters and the more
tentative, shy/reserved guests for the optional characters. To figure out who will be a ‘definite
RSVP’, it is highly suggested to send a ‘save the date’ email out to your prospective guests way in
advance of the party date so you can either eliminate those guests from your list who can’t make it
(and therefore you will not assign them to a character) or you can change your party date if enough
required-character guests simply cannot make it. It’s suggested to invite more than the required
number of players as any of the ‘required’ guests could cancel at the last minute and leave you high &
dry. You can play as many optional players as you wish and in any combination that you choose.
The optional players have the same materials and same participation level, but these optional
characters are not ‘mandatory’ for the storyline to play out and therefore for the mystery to be
sleuthed appropriately.
What happens if one of your required characters cancels on you at the last minute? First, take a
deep breath…it’s not the end of the world.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE HOST
Get ready for a 1950s shakin' party with your purchase of east side story…a 1950s murder
mystery party game from mymysteryparty.com! This party is an entertaining and comical mystery
where the players act the roles of hilarious personalities while sleuthing the intriguing story line. This is an
excellent choice for your next get together for any occasion.
This document needs to be printed in advance of the party. Cut out the clues and slip them into envelopes
labeled with the appropriate round and character for each round of the party. It is optimal to choose different
colored envelopes for each round.
During the party, your job as the host is to ensure that the envelopes are given to the guests at the appropriate
times and most of all – that you and your guest are having a blast!! Make sure to read the host instructions
for each round prior to the party to ensure that you have everything in place for the big day! Please note the host instructions for each round do not disclose who the murderer is but do not read the Round Three clue
cards if you want to keep everything a surprise. (The victim is revealed in the Round Two clue cards.)
This mystery comes with 15+ characters. There are 7+ optional characters in this mystery. If you do not have
guests for these 7+ optional characters, simply omit the clues of these guests and / or only print the guests’

The game is organized into 3 rounds plus a pre-game. The game rounds are designed as follows:
OPTIONAL PRE-GAME: these pre-game starters and task sheets are to be delivered to each guest before the
party or give them to the guests as they arrive. All pre-game starters are optional and do not alter the mystery
and are intended to enhance the pre-game build up for the event. These starters are not vital to solving the
mystery. In this game, there are also pre-game tasks for the characters to perform. These pre-game tasks are
optional and the omission of them does not alter the mystery in any way. You will need to fill in your guests’
contact information (email is typically the best method of contact) on the pre-game task sheets for each guest
to be able to contact the characters listed on each of their task sheets (see below).
APPETIZER HOUR – ROUND ONE: Deliver these clues as your guests arrive.
DINNER HOUR – ROUND TWO: Deliver these clues while you serve dinner to your guests. (Dinner is optional.)
DESSERT ‘N THE BIG REVEAL – ROUND THREE: Deliver these clues with coffee/cocoa and dessert.

After about 15 minutes, take up the Sprinkle of 1950s Movie Challenge Guess Sheets from your guests and
score them using the Sprinkle of 1950s Movie Challenge Answer Sheet. Set these aside until it is time to cue
the victim.
PRE-MURDER ROUND TWO: PASS OUT THE ROUND TWO CLUE CARDS: Pass out the envelopes for
round two to the guests and encourage them over the next 15 or so minutes to mingle while implementing their
'pre-murder' reveal clues for round two. Since you are likely to be playing a character role, do not forget to
implement your own 'pre-murder' clues and mingle with your guests before you allow the round to advance.
Do not forget to implement your own 'pre-murder' clues and mingle with your guests before you
advance the round.
Once everyone has implemented their clues, it is time for you to announce the scores of the ‘Sprinkle of 1950s
Movie Challenge.' This is a cue for a specified guest to leave and re-enter the room as the victim. Try to stall
as long as possible by talking about the team member’s performance in the challenge, their scores, etc. This
is done to distract the guests while the victim is becoming the victim. When the victim returns, s/he will have a
white-painted face and a sign on his / her chest. S/he is not allowed to talk for the remainder of the game as
s/he is a ghost, but s/he can still play just like everybody else. As an alternative - if you want this guest to be
able to speak, you can also just tell them to talk like a ghost for the rest of the party. In no way is the victim any
less of a player – they are still to remain in the game, but just as the ‘victim.’ Most victims love the attention and
want to be the victim again! Plus, if you purchased the victim shirt- it should be their consolation prize. There is
also a downloadable victim award in the prop emporium on the My Mystery Party site.

HELPFUL HINTS ON HOW TO PLAY A MYSTERY
GUEST INSTRUCTIONS
So you’ve been assigned a character and you’ve come to the party dressed in the most
fabulous 1950s inspired costume and have been told to play your role. So now what?
The mystery is separated into 3 rounds. During the party, you will be handed an envelope that
contains the clues necessary for your character for the round. The clues for all of the required
characters provide everything that you need to solve the mystery. However, during the
investigation segment of the game, you will need to ask the right questions and pay close
attention to everyone’s clues to be able to get the whole picture of what has happened.
FULL INSTRUCTIONS IN
THE PURCHASED GAME
From this point forward, you are to remain in character until the mystery is solved. If you are
playing a ‘spunky 1950s high school cheerleader,’ then that is who you are until the end!
Undoubtedly, your host has cast you into a character that you are comfortable playing. There
are some characters that are designed to be played more reserved than other characters that
should be played more boisterous. Feel free to play your role however you feel comfortable.
Embellish your character’s personality if you would like. However, if you are feeling more
reserved tonight, you can opt to allow the other characters to approach you or you can simply
listen in on others’ conversations to get your information.

OPTIONAL PRE-GAME TASKS:
The following tasks are completely optional and exclusion of them does not alter the mystery in any way.
However, it does lead to pre-game build up and excitement! Cut the task strips out and slip them into the pregame clue envelopes and send about 1 week prior to the party. Be sure to fill in your guests’ preferred contact
information on the task slips so they will be able to contact each other. If any of the optional guests are not
playing – write ‘DISREGARD THIS TASK’ in the contact info blank.
The usual method of contact with our mystery parties is email BUT since this is the 1950s…we prefer you use
the telephone! But if you want to use email…just ask your guests to pretend it is their home telephone by making
a statement at the top of the email:
“This is really a telephone call to your home – this is not ‘really’ an email! There was not email in the 1950s!”
Character’s name has been removed
OPTIONAL- for some pre-party fun, you can contact (phone, etc.) the following guests in the week leading up to the party:
Contact the guest playing FINCHY and tell her that you are looking forward to the sock hop at Frosty’s Diner. However,
you are frosted that you were outvoted and that Sandra D. Bolson will officially join your group as a Pink Chick at the sock
hop. You can’t believe Finchy and the others allowed that ‘closet case’ to be part of your hip clique as she is a total
fream! (Contact info :___________________________________________________)
Contact the guest playing SONNY WEBBER and tell him that you heard about what he said – that there should only be
one gang in Fontaine City. If that is the case, it will be the D-Birds from the east side of town. So if he isn’t careful and
doesn’t watch his mouth, his wish will come true and the Pit Vipers will be run out of Fontaine City for good! Everyone
knows your boyfriend, Kermicky, is the toughest cat in town!
(Contact info :__________________________________________________________)
Please note: either contacting the guests above or deciding to skip these tasks will not alter the mystery or
anyone's ability to solve the mystery in anyway. However, contacting other guests will lead to excitement about
the party and will encourage other guests to read about the other characters and be prepared for some
completely mysterious fun!

Question: How much did an Electric Portable Singer Sewing Machine cost in 1958? Answer: answer removed
Question: Who was the U.S. President in 1958? Answer: answer removed
CLUES TO REVEAL DURING THIS ROUND
During this round, mingle with other guests to discuss the following information with whomever you choose:
Remember that you are the ultra-intelligent Student Class Representative from Ryder High School on the east side of
Fontaine City. You are not affiliated with teenaged street gangs and you do what you can to stop them. You’d love
nothing more to see them disappear forever. You always have your stuffed rabbit with you as you feel it gives you the
powers of foresight. Maybe you don’t really believe that but it’s your security ‘blanket’ nonetheless.
Talk to a few people about gangs and gang violence. Explain that in 1951, there was a huge gang rumble in town
and twelve people died – an equal amount from both sides of the city - so both gangs lost. There are never winners in
street fights like that.
Talk about how you heard that Sandra Bolson was nominated for Prom Queen this year. You won the Junior Prom
Queen title last year and this year is even more important to win! You are going to the prom committee to find out if
she will still be eligible since as of tonight, she’s affiliated with a street gang (the Pink Chicks).
PERSONAL CLUES TO CONCEAL
You heard that your boyfriend, Squigmon (also a senior at Ryder High School), wants to become a D-Bird behind your
back. This makes you furious! Talk to Manny about how bad of an idea this is and to leave Squigmon alone.
You would do anything to be Prom Queen again this year. You’d not be able to stand it if that ‘girl’ moved here from
Australia and took your title from you without being at Ryder High for four years to earn it like you did! And, especially
if she remains eligible even though she is a member of a hooligan street gang (Pink Chicks).

ROUND TWO CLUES

ROUND TWO - THE MURDER WILL OCCUR DURING THIS ROUND!
CLUES TO REVEAL: (PRE-MURDER CLUES)
Demand that all gang activity be immediately stopped or you and your football team (if they are playing with you) are
about to pound everyone’s faces. If they don’t back down to you – then simply give up and say ‘you tried’.
Tell Sandra Bolson that you will remove her from the planet if she thinks she will tell you on for cheating at school.
You’ve already been accepted into Harvard University for the fall semester and if they found out that the little nerdy
Poindex Brainman is the one who did your work for you in school – they’ll probably give the academic scholarship to
HIM and take it away from YOU! You have an untarnished reputation in Fontaine City as a role model and a
hometown football hero and you don’t want some dumb girl from Australia to ruin everything.
Ask Frizzo why she’d want to recruit cheerleaders from her school for her silly gang. You thought they had a tough
reputation and were feared by all? But cheerleaders like Sandra are not feared by anyone – you hate to be the one to
break the news to her. So, she needs to just break up that dumb gang, the Pink Chicks and just be normal for once.
Then, she needs to convince her little boyfriends of the D-Birds to do the same. Then, the innocent citizens of
Fontaine City can go out at night without fear that these teenage hooligans will give them any trouble.
POST MURDER CLUES:
You have earned an ‘A’ in advanced chemistry this year in school. You haven’t missed one point on an exam or on
your homework.
You noticed Cho Cho was wearing skin tight clothing to the sock hop.
The murderer had to have a way to bring the poison to the sock hop. If they didn’t bring a handbag and are wearing
skin tight clothing – they are probably not a suspect.
The murderer most likely has a big motive. People don’t tend to kill for no reason.

Before you read your final solution, read the following artist/band music lyrics to the other guests and ask them to give
you the band and name of the song:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY

BUT NOT BRIGHT AS YOUR EYES TONIGHT
Answer: The answer has been removed.
Say the following to the group:
“Do you guys want the word from the bird? The victim blackmailed me so I’d plot line removed to prevent spoilers. Alright,
I admit that I was with Theo Valmudo at the drive-in theater and the victim eyeballed us together holding hands on the
park bench. I know it’s forbidden for a Pink Chick to be with a Pit Viper but Theo is such a flutter bum, I couldn’t resist! I
apologize to my friends of the Pink Chicks and to the guys of the D-Birds and this will not happen again, ever! I was
frosted with Sandra and thought she was a total fream and a goof for blackmailing me, but I didn’t kill her, I swear!”
