• 21% of Black Hills area residents live below the
poverty level.
• 1,865 Black Hills area children receive a backpack
of food every Friday because there is so little to eat
at home.
• 485 Black Hills area children were in the court
system because of abuse or neglect in 2013.
• 725 Black Hills area students are classified as
homeless.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
• 583 Black Hills area teens were in treatment for
drug and/or alcohol addiction in 2013.
