Hastings-on-Hudson Area Attractions
Old Croton Aqueduct Walk or Bike Ride
A relaxing, historic walk along a 19th-century
aqueduct that once supplied water to New
York City. You can easily walk or bike ride
between the villages on the hardened dirt trail
and return to your starting point by MetroNorth Railroad. The full route on this map
totals about seven miles from north to south.
Bike rentals are available at Endless Trail
Bikeworx, 56 Main St., Dobbs Ferry.

The Newington-Cropsey Foundation’s
Museum of Hudson River Painters
This unique museum exhibits the permanent
collection of 19th-century Hudson River
School painter Jasper Cropsey and other
temporary collections. Located across from
the train station.

Old Putnam Rail Trail
A tree-shaded bike ride along the paved right
of way of a railroad built in the 19th century.
You can access the rail trail by bicycle from the
Old Croton Aqueduct through Hastings-onHudson via a 1.2-mile, moderately hilly ride on
local roads. Rentals are available at Life: The
Place to Be on Lawrence Street in Ardsley.

Dobbs Ferry Attractions
Dobbs Ferry Waterfront Park
A wonderful place to walk, sit or picnic with
sweeping views of the Hudson River, the
Palisades Cliffs, New York and the Hudson
Highlands. The park is located next to the
Dobbs Ferry train station.

The Lyndhurst Estate
The estate features spectacular grounds with
stunning river views and is a pleasant walk
or bike ride about one mile north of Irvington. Check Lyndhurst’s web site for frequent
special events. Access to the grounds is free
to walkers or bicyclists arriving from the Old
Croton Aqueduct.
