Dear Parents, Staff and Children
Casual Clothes:
Casual clothes day will be conducted next Wednesday 17th September. Junior School Council
are promoting the theme of “Sport” for this day. Children are encouraged to wear clothing that
is representative of their favourite sporting team where possible. If not, any inoffensive casual
clothing will be acceptable. Please remember, hair colour is not acceptable.
Term 3 Concludes:
A reminder to all, Friday 19th September is the final day of school for Term 3. School
dismissal time will be 2.30pm on this day.
The first day of Term 4 is Monday 6th October.
Staffing:
There are a couple of changes to our staffing profile for next term.
Mrs Clarke has decided to retire from education, effective 6th October. She has been a long
standing member of our Sunbury West team, originally transferred here in 1987, after
beginning her career at Bell Primary School in 1981.
Mrs Clarke has taught a range of levels as well as working in the school library and also had
significant leadership responsibilities in the area of Information Technology.
Mrs Clarke’s knowledge of education and the influence she has on the children in her care
each year will be greatly missed. We wish her all the very best as she begins a new chapter in
her life.
Her classroom responsibilities will be undertaken by Mrs Diane Todd.
Mr Hildebrand has been employed to undertake the Physical Education role for Term 4.

READING CINEMAS-
Enrich Your Home With A WEP Exchange Student
World Education Program (WEP) is inviting Australian families to experience
another culture within their own homes by becoming volunteer host families.
Choose a student from Italy, Belgium, France, Switzerland, The Netherlands or
South America and get a glimpse into the life of another culture without having
to leave the comfort of your home! Our exchange students are just as excited
about sharing their own culture and life experiences as they are about becoming
a member of an Australian family.
Arriving in January:
Ilaria (17) from Italy tells us that she is incredibly fond of animals, and that if she
had her own way, she would turn her house into a zoo! She enjoys drawing in her
spare time, as well as travel. She believes that living so far away from home will
help her broaden her mind, and she can't wait to live with a welcoming family.
Marco (17) from Italy is an animator at his local church group and enjoys playing
both football and basketball with his friends. He also enjoys staying active by
going to the gym for an hour or so after school. He is looking forward to sharing
his Italian culture with you, and hopes you will share your culture with him here
'down-under'.
