Thousands of fans agree with those reviews, as they routinely sell out shows in venues large and small across Canada and the U.S. James and his band – Todd Sacerty on bass, Duncan Symonds on guitar and pedal steel, and Colin Stevenson on drums – look and sound like the legacy of the Man in Black, and when they step on stage, they live it. From the way Cash holds his guitar to the way he talks to his audience, the legendary musician lives again when James steps to the mike and says, “Hello – I’m almost Johnny Cash.” Concerts Presented by: I was born and raised in Parksville and grew up with a very old piano. Sports was a staple in our household and my interest in the instrument faded. I stopped playing when I was 11 years old, but picked it back up once I began to take vocal lessons with Shelley Beeston. I've always been a fan of a wide range of music, from Andrea Bocelli, to Tool, to Sarah McLachlan. I was brought up with a lot of classical influences, but recently appreciate more modern genres like Indie-style Folk Rock. I like that fusion between the old and the new; more reshaping than inventing styles. Many of my songs are emotionally charged, but I'm a pretty happy guy in everyday life, and I try and reflect that in my performance, as well. I've always loved to perform. Boondock originates in the Comox Valley area, but play all over Vancouver Island, Vancouver, and anywhere else people want to have a good time! They play at big festivals such as Sunfest in Duncan BC, Salmonfest in Campbell River, to Pubs, and private functions. Boondock is known for their diverse set list, consisting mainly of New Country-Rock, but they throw in a few Top 40, and Classic rock songs for good measure. Boondock offers energetic, fun stage presence, and a promise to keep your feet moving all night long. Being together for over 6 years, they have a tight sound, well-rehearsed, and are always looking for new songs to add to their set list. They are currently recording their debut album "Small Town" which should be completed this Summer of 2015. Acclaimed for bringing “rock energy” to “country audiences”, Aaron Pritchett continues to hold the title of one of the most sought after artists in the business. His passion and intensity for his art overflows on stage and spills into his unwavering dedication to his fans. Growing up in small-town Northern BC, Aaron drew his earliest musical influences from 80’s Rock, but the transition to country music came naturally, “it was based on being able to relate to the stories that country songs told. Those stories were a lot like mine. I was going fishing, camping, and riding buses to hockey tournaments in even smaller towns than my own, life was a lot more country than rock and roll. That feeling resonated with me and I strive to convey that in my music today” Still there is no doubt that his rock roots have had a major influence on his sound with hits such as the classic’s “Big Wheel”, “Hold My Beer” and “Let’s Get Rowdy” to his latest “Boat on the Water”, “Hold You Like My Whiskey” and “Wake You With A Kiss”. Following on the heels of a cross Canada tour, 2015 will see the release of a much anticipated greatest hit album entitled “Body Of Work” on May 12th. Concerts Presented by: If you took everything you loved from the So-Cal era when The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac ruled the charts, mixed in a little .38 Special, a dash of Skynrd, Jackson Browne, a little Springsteen, Yoakum and some gasoline, you might begin to grasp what DarkHorse is. Fueled by the writing and singing of Paul Laine, DarkHorse is a band poised for success DarkHorse's debut album, Let It Ride, is both anthemic and beautiful, melancholy and uplifting. "The truth is", says Laine,"I wanted to make an album that I wanted to hear, from a band that I wanted to be a part of, and build a show that I wanted to see". DarkHorse has been thrilling audiences with their live show ever since. The basic concept of the event consists of two riders working in harmony moving ten head of cattle from one pen to another in numerical order with a 60 sec. time limit. The winning team is determined by sorting 10 head in the fastest time or the most head sorted in the 60 sec. time limit. The events are promoted by the N.V.I.H.A. with regular sortings at Norwood Farm and again this year we will be at the Comox Valley Exhibition.
