Having been beat up by Mother Nature this year, after the second consecutive
Street Drags event was rained out on June 10th, officials announced that

an additional date will be on the 2016 Premier Powdercoating Street Drags
Schedule. Join us for Street Drags on SATURDAY night, August 27th at 7:30. The
updated schedule includes: Fridays July 8, 15, August 12, Saturday August 27, plus
Friday September 9th and Saturday afternoon October 15th.

It was the “race within a race,” last season. In addition to the standard season-long point
standings, the Late Model and Sportsmen drivers (top 16 in points) began a secondary

championship in mid-July. Drivers were either eliminated by finish, or moved on to the next
week of racing, based on performance. The inaugural winners were Steve Carlson and Steve Bachman.

The 2016 racing season will continue to be impacted by road construction. WIS
Hwy 16, between Onalaska and West Salem is still closed, and will remain so

until late July or early August. When the project is finished, it will be a four-lane
divided highway. During closure, eastbound traffic must use I-90 to West Salem’s Exit 12,
then West on “C” and North on “M.” Construction should be completed by November 1.
