Introduction
Doha has been elected as Capital of Arabic Culture for the year
2010. The ministry of Culture is organizing several festivities
during the whole year 2010 celebrating the nomination of Doha
Capital of Arabic Culture.
“Doha: City of Joy” is part of the festivities totally dedicated for
children, youth and families, bringing edutainment activities and
joy to the whole families in Doha.
“Doha: City of Joy” will be organized for ten days during the
Spring Vacation allowing all children to attend and participate in
this unique festivity.
All companies are invited to take part in supporting this festivity,
as part of the support for the nomination of Doha Capital of
Arabic Culture.
Concept

Build an educational and entertainment city in Doha, for
a period of ten days (spring vacation)

Include various educational aspects: science &
technology area, environment & ecology area, library,
entertaining area

Host a full program of plays and animations, for
educational and entertainment purposes

Develop children‛s artistic talents and general
information through various workshops and
competitions

Display the works of art of talented kids in the city

SPARKY the ROBOT
Science & Technology
Sparky is created almost entirely out of recycled materials giving
added interest for the audience who, when first presented with an
apparently completely self-aware robot, realize that some
components bear an uncanny resemblance to familiar household
objects. Suitable for environmentally and futuristically themed
events, Sparky also works well in processions or for mix and mingle
in a crowded situation.

Jumicar Experience
The jumicar experience gives children a fun way of learning road awareness skills, the
importance of obeying the rules of the road, being considerate to other road users and being
aware of the hazards on the road. Taking part in an exciting and enjoyable experience on our
circuits, they learn almost without realizing it and at a fantastic pace, how to behave safely in
a car – as both driver and as a passenger – and how to behave safely as a pedestrian.

International Cinema for children‛s movies, Kids First!
the KIDS FIRST! Film Festival is a showcase for children's films, TV
shows and DVDs from major studios and independent filmmakers. The
festival partners with more than 150 venues worldwide who host more
than 10,000 screenings of KIDS FIRST! Films. Youth are given a true
voice - as curators, as audience members, as film critics, as volunteer
staff and as filmmakers showing their work.
