An urban epic, fantasy, action , gangstar
thriller
After an undercover operation as part of an Asian led drug trafficking gang goes
wrong in London –UK, Interpol field agent JACK MABENA is re-assigned to what
appears a worthless case in his native home country Zimbabwe. The task is to locate
the heir to the ancient Munhumutapa Kingdom that was at the height of its powers
in the 15th century. He links up with South African based SPECIAL RESEARCH
agent Sandra Barnad and they find the unlikely heir MICHEAL MUTAPA
wallowing in a maximum state prison. He is the key to finding the treasure since
only his finger-prints can gain access to the four spots the pieces of the map are
hidden. Meanwhile General Patrice Kavumba and his military trained son ,Jean
Luc put together a mini-army on their farm in the Eastern Highlands in a bid to
take control of the SADC region. All they need is the super-natural ZAMBEZI
CREST to have spiritual validation of this hostile take- over.NIGERIAN femme
fatale NADESH OKOCHA and her team of West African mercenaries have other
plans for this treasure. The three parties race and battle each other across Zimbabwe
to the four tourist destinations housing the four pieces of the map to create the full
picture of where the CREST is hidden in THE Great Zimbabwe. Foreign dealers,
murder, mystery, betrayal, violence and ethnic intrigue are all part of the action in
this unique fast paced multi-plot story of unprecedented proportions.
ZAMBEZI is based on the concept by MARC T MANDISOUL,
focusing on the search for the ancient Munhumutapa Royal Treasure and mythical
Zambezi Crest by the Zimbabwean government and INTERPOL. They seek to safeguard it from organized international crime syndicates and gangsters led by an
ambitious retired DRC Army General who craves the power and ANCESTRAL
spiritual authority that comes with possession of this supernatural CREST. His
ultimate plan is to take over the entire SADC region and unite it as one nation
known as ZAMBEZI. This is a dynamic concept that transcends into action, gangster,
supernatural and dramatic genres and a character driven storyline.
005
Zambezi is best described as An Urban-African epic
blockbuster fantasy action gangster thriller with various
sub plots which blend into one explosive ending.
The Writer/Producer/ Director Marc. T Mandisoul of

THE IN-LAWS
The In-Laws is another Zimbabwean Movie
making waves, already won the best film award
at the Amasiko Heritage Film Festival in South
Africa in September 2012 and won Film Of The
Year Award at the ZIMMA in October.
The film was written and directed by Demetria Karongah a self motivated and experienced
Zimbabwean who currently lives in the U.K. It
revolves around clashes of beliefs and differences
that are brought about by interracial marriages.
The film is comedy/drama that seeks to provoke
dialogue to bridge the gap.
The film has had a U.K premiere which
was held on the 28th of July at Bedfordshire
University Theatre and in Zimbabwe it was
premiered on the 24th of November at The
National Art Gallery in Harare and has had great
reviews with ‘‘a couple of A list celebrities in attendance including ‘The Gentleman’ star Munya
Chidzonga, tycoon businessmen, coined “Mr
Flamboyant’’Philip Chiyangwa, ‘The Gentleman’
director Joe Njagu, ‘Think’Producer and Director Nakai Tsuro and more .The event organiser
was producer of Lobola Rufaro Kaseke who
said ‘The event couldn’t have been better. We had
a great night’’ .Zollywood mag also caught up
with the main character in the movie ‘Munya’,
Ashley Majaya.
ZM:The In-laws won the Film of the year
Award and you also won the actor of the year
award at the ZIMMA Awards 2012 for playing
the role of ‘Munya’. How long did it take you to
prepare for the role? and what was it about the
character that persuaded you to take the role?
AM:It took me about 4 months to prepare
for the role of ‘Munya’ after successfully auditioning and also having met the great cast and
crew involved. I had read the entire script and
quickly got to empathise with ‘Munyas’ character,
especially around how his life story is a story that
others could easily pick out elements that are
sometimes common for immigrants in relationships with people from different backgrounds to
their own. ‘Munya’ also seemed to be a fun character to play he enjoys his music and socialising
and he also brings an element of humour
to the sometimes difficult situations that life
throws at him.
ZM:Can you give us an insight into Ashley
Majaya the Actor, what movies you have featured
in and what to expect in 2013?
AM:I’m a very versatile actor with many
years of experience and now a Best Film Actor
of the Year Award winner too wow! This achievement motivates me to continue performing better each time and collect various awards to add
to my collection . I thank all those that have supported me so far in my achievements. I’m also as
strong believer in the idea that Zollywood will be
up there next to the biggest film and TV industries currently well established and recognised
worldwide.I have Played “Jamal” in the 2009
movie Thorns watch,“Munya” in the 2011 In-Laws
movie , “Tsanos” in the 2012 movie To The End
of The Road ,Played “Farai” in the 2011 movie
Marias Vision due out soon, Played a Jamaican in
the 2012 movie Zambezi due out in 2013 .
ZM:Apart from being an Actor you play a
huge role in marketing, how is that been going
and how has the response been?
AM:I’m enjoying film marketing, publicity and networking via the social media sites,
radio and TV interviews and attending various
relevant events. There is a lot involved in making
a movie as you can imagine the pre production,
production and post production phase all need
to be joined in seamlessly to add to the success
of the film. This low budget stage we are at,
you need as many multi- skilled personnel on
a film set to assist and also raise the profile of
the finished production. It’s been a lot of hard
work promoting films but the response has been
so positive, really encouraging and people are
now getting more excited about the Zim film
industry so the message is definitely getting out
there and I’m happy with that. To catch updates

OF THE ROAD
REPORTER: Tendai Mudhlihwa EMAIL: [email protected]
To the End of the Road, The Movie was premiered at Showcase Cinema in Coventry on the 29th of September. Had great
attendance and Lorraine Fox the star in the movie also won Actress Of The Year Award 2012 at the ZIMMA Awards in October
. We caught up with the Producer/Actress Lorraine Fox ,about
how the Premiere went and about her winning an Award.
ZM:Recently you received a ZIMMA Award for Best Actress,
Congratulations! How was that feeling, and what do you take from
that?
LF:Thank you, I am still so excited, to win best actress for the
first project I worked on is out of this world. I am blessed to be surrounded by remarkable people who constantly support my dreams
and these are the same people who voted every day for me to win
this award. I wouldn’t have won this award if it weren’t for the Director of To The End Of The Road , Tawanda Chimuzinga. He approached me a few years back and said “ your gonna be a Star” and I
laughed at him but I guess he got the last laugh.
ZM:Talk us through TTEOTR , what is it all about?,in a nut
shell.
LF:To The End Of The Road is about a Zimbabwean family living in the UK. It tackles the misconceptions people might have about
living in England. It focuses a young woman, Yolandra (played by
myself)who is blighted by the ill effects of her mum, Sarah’s (played
by Demetria Karongah) life which was savagely wrecked by her selfishImmigration Officer lover ,Dave, (played by Jason Ash) who used
her after falsely promising her a better life. To the End of the Road
brings to the fore the epitome of human betrayal, abuse and survival
and heart stopping action.
ZM:TTEOTR was Premiered on the 29th September 2012, at
The Showcase Cinema in Coventry and you were faced with “technical faults”, can you tell us what happened?
LF:As it is our first project we failed to check in time if the
disc we were using was compatible with the Cinemas System. We
overlooked this issue and it ended up causing a lot of delays in
screening the movie. As a team we were disappointed because not
only did we let ourselves down, we also let a lot of people down who
were looking forward to watching this movie.
“I will marry myself ” its a fascinating story
about an African woman, who was fed up of
being taken for granted by men that she took
the matter into her own hands. How? She
married herself.
One of the stars in the film is Melgin
Tafirenyika , born in 1986 in Zimbabwe . He
has done Modeling , Acting and now is venturing into Script Writing with his First movie
titled “I will marry myself ” which he worked
alongside Stephen Vieser. Melgin
has been in a few productions
such as Sunrise Production, SABC,
Readon Art and many more
including stage performances. Between 2007-2012 he has featured
in a few ads such as MTN mobile,
Net one, Econet, Big brother Africa 7, Africa magic entertainment
, National air ways, The Wild, Jin
lan, Madison, lesogo and many
more ads. He also
acquired a P4 level in performance arts and theatre, He is also
one of the Judges of Face of Zimbabwe 2012. Watch out for Melgin
in coming years
007
Maria’s Vision is a Zimbabwean drama about life
in the diaspora. Maria and Tapiwa were a happily
married couple until they migrated to the UK
seeking greener pastures. Things turn around,
find out what happens.

ZM:Are you going to do more TTEOTR screenings?
LF:We will do some more screenings and we will also honour
our promise to everyone who came out on the night of the premier
to finish watching the movie.
Actress ‘Shingirai
Ziwange’
ZM:So when is TTEOTR going to be released? and where can
people view it or purchase the dvd?
LF:We are hoping the movie will be in Zimbabwean Cinemas
in time for the festive season. We will keep you updated through our
website : totheendoftheroad.com and also zollywoodzim.co.uk for
further information.
ZM:Lately you have been filming Zambezi, which is another action packed suspense movie. How is this different?
LF:Zambezi is an awesome Action movie. Its totally different
from To The End Of The Road because the action scenes in Zambezi
are something you would expect from a Quentin Tarantino movie.
You know someone is gonna be thrown off a building, bones are
gonna be broken, its packed with great action and will always keep
the audience in suspense. I enjoyed working with Marc T Mandisoul,
the Director of Zambezi, he has the most amazing imagination and I
think he is the one to watch out for.
ZM:What is your take on the Zimbabwean film industry?
LF:We have seen a significant growth in the past few years in
the number of films coming onto our screens. Film makers are also
working together now to produce better Films. There is a still a lot to
be done and will take years to rebuild our Film Industry but the journey as already began and the future looks bright. Follow Lorraine

INTERVIEW
REPORTER: Mkhulili Mpofu

HE IS NO LONGER DIAMOND BOY, HE
IS NOW OFFICIALY ‘MR DIAMOND.’
Munya’s rising success as a public figure and actor has been in
the public eye for a while. His major breakthrough came when
he was a contestant in Big Brother Africa in 2010, a fete that
was even celebrated by the President Robert Gabriel Mugabe
with a huge cheque for $300 000.
Munya has gone on to star in popular Zimbabwean movies,
Lobola and the Gentleman earning his place as the darling
and rising star of the country. Earlier on this year ,The Zimbabwean hit movie “The Gentleman” premiered in the UK
on 24th March 2012 at the Prince Charles Cinema in London’s Leicester Sq. Munya Chidzonga the star of the hit movie
attended the glamorous event, The Movie recieved a great
reception and the Premiere was a huge success.
Munyaradzi plays a double roles in the film as the twins:
Takunda and Tawana, a role which he describes as a ‘Dream for
any actor.” Working closely with Director Joe Njagu, he delivers
a powerful performance, bringing out a sharp contrast between the two personalities that he portrays in the action flick.
Munyaradzi holds a BA degree in Film, majoring in acting and
scrip-writing from AFDA (The Southern African School of Motion Picture And Live Performance).
His last film, (LOBOLA, 2010) which his company Ivory
Pictures also distributed grossed over R500 000 in less than
three months, making it the most selling film in Zimbabwean
history to date.
September this year Munya tied the knot to his long time
love, singer Adiona Maboreke ,He finally paid ‘Lobola’ for
Adiona earlier this year, in January, and the running joke was
that he had finally done in real life what he had done in the
movie, Lobola, where he starred with Delma Chiwereva. After
getting married Munya said’ “I am no longer Diamond Boy, I
am now officially Mr Diamond.”

Zimbabwe’s most loveable actor
Munya Chidzonga for a quick fire
5 minute reveal of himself
ZM- Munya there’s great anticipation about seeing you back
on the big screen. When is that going to be?
MC- At the moment I m looking for my next project we’re
currently writing something that we will shoot next year. But if
a good script comes my way before then . I’ll jump on it. But
for now i have set my sights on lending my expertise to the tv
industry in this country.
ZM-So I guess we are curious to know what you’ve been doing.
MC-I am currently producing a t.v series for ZBC called
“The Sparrows” that will air early next year. I am also hosting a
talent show called “Starbrite” which is currently airing on ZBC.
And fully employed being a husband and a Dad ??.
ZM-people say you’re the fresh face of a new generation
of Zimbabwean actors, how much inspiration do you get from
old school Zimbabwean actors?
MC-I am humbled and flattered to be seen as spear
heading the new charge in Zimbabwean film making. Its truly
an honor. The past is there so that we can change the future.
Learn and take it to the next level... “If not us then who?If not
now then when?”-JFK
ZM- If you could choose one to share the screen with who
would it be?
MC-I would have to say Jessica Mungoshi from “Neria”.

ZM:It’s been a minute away from the music scene, You are now a
university-trained biochemist. Was it difficult to balance the two,
Music and Studying?
DB:No, not really. I am as passionate about science as i am about
music. Yet they are totally different. One is well defined and is
governed by set principles while the other is completely free and
undefined. When I take a break from my music, biochemistry is
like a breath of fresh air and vice versa.

Known as the Prince of Urban
Grooves, he is back with a brand
new single ‘DANCEHALL STYLE’.
The Celebrity superstar Decibel drops the A-Klass produced
banger ‘ Dancehall style ‘, making a welcome return since he
made a cameo appearance on last year’s Afro-pop anthem, JJC’s
We Are Africans. With the launch of the new track, Decibel also
announces the forging of new ties after signing ontoBoomslang Records with his hometown brothers-in-arms, BKay
N Kazz, they go wayback from 2006 when they collaborated on
the smash hit , ‘Ndikati Hello’ , now they back stronger and even
better.
Dancehall style Video has recieved great reviews and Decibel
was awarded a ZIMMA Award for Video of the the year 2012. The
video has been aired on BET which covers U.K and America and
will be aired on Channel O and Trace tv South Africa. Decibel
wants to go International and still remain with that Zimbabwean
sound.
Most recent ‘Fona’ with SA based Nox and Trinta, ‘Mukuru
ndiani’ with the zimdancehall pioneers Major E and Booker T
and ‘Dadi’ with the UK based zimbabwean songstress Cynthia
Mare proving himself to be an unrelenting hitmaker over the
years.
A university-trained biochemist, Decibel has spent the past
couple of years off the “game” with his family, honing his craft
and perfecting his showmanship. To mark a decade since the beginning of his musical career, in his own words ““Its time to take it
to the world”. That can only mean we’re in for something BIG!
We caught up with Decibel on his return welcome to the
urban scene.
ZM:You have come back and recieved a ZIMMA Award for video
of the year ‘Dancehall Style’ft Bkay and Kazz.
How does it feel?
DB:Its always gratifying when you work hard on something and
you finally see the finished product. Getting recognition for it is
like the cherry on top.
ZM:‘Dancehall style’ features Bkay n Kazz, how was it working
together again?
DB:It was fun. Me and those guys go way back. That aside, they’re
talented musicians and very professional.

ZM:What do you think of the Zim urban music scene
at the moment?
DB:If I’ll be honest it is still in its early stages of development. In my opinion it has not yet commercialised enough but
you can see that there is great potential. We had to start somewhere right?
ZM:When you left Zim, you were still at your peak and in
Zim you still have a huge following, so what can your fans
expect from you in the near future?
DB:All i can say is I am always working on something so
soon enough tunes will be dropping. As for the ‘wheres’, ‘whens’
and ‘hows’ well thats something my little artists brain cant handle
so my management deals with that.
ZM:So where can fans get your music and listen to the new
material.

One of the seven wonders of the world is theVictoria Falls. A world famous
waterfall; view Victoria Falls
from the side of Zimbabwe
to see the most magnificent
views of this giant world wonder. Victoria Falls is located
within a National Park allowing for game viewing and as
well as Victoria Falls tours.
Victoria Falls is the largest waterfall around making
it one of the world’s “Seven
Natural Wonders”! Victoria
Falls is one of the highest,
widest and most powerful waterfall, especially in the winter
months when the river is full!
In the 1800’s Victoria Falls
was described by the nearby
Kololo as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’
which means “the Smoke that
Thunders”- illustrating the
powerful forces of Victoria
Falls!
David Livingstone is believed to be the first explorer
to have discovered Victoria
Falls; in 1860 he spread the
word about his travels to
Victoria Falls. With so much
enthusiasm and passion about
Victoria Falls the area became
a popular tourist attraction
(especially on the Zimbabwean side). Today, Victoria Falls
is a still a popular holiday destination for honeymooners,
families and couples.
Victoria Falls has been
called “the greatest known
curtain of falling water” - and
it is a truly spectacular site
to see. Victoria Falls borders
on Zambia and Zimbabwe,
and can be viewed from vast
distances from both sides.
Columns of spray can be
felt from miles away as 546
million cubic meters of water
per minute plummet over
the edge (at the height of the
flood season) over a width of
nearly 2 km (1708 m) into a
deep gorge over 100 meters
below. The spray flowing
above the falls at Victoria
Falls can sometimes be seen
over 5 km away! for more

I have always wanted to use the talents that I was
blessed with to help others.
Q: Tell us about yourself
A: I am a Model/Singer/Rapper/Actress/Entrepreneur in the
making, studying Biomedicine at Lincoln University. As a determined and focused individual, I look forward to achieving my goals
in life; in addition to enjoying every moment that I am blessed to
be on this earth.I am very sporty and self-confessed football addict
who love playing and watching football.I am also an artistic person
who is very passionate about my music, drama (acting in New York
as well as for MTV) and fashion. I love writing and recording my
own music. I started modelling when I was asked to model a dress
in a student fashion show for a friend, after her model had pulled
out at the last minute. The only catwalk I had ever done was after
buying a new pair of heels and giving then a test drive, with MTV
Base in the background. This was nothing like walking the runway
so understandably I was nervous. However the nerves where swiftly
brushed aside as soon as I set foot on the runway. Walking the
runway was an incredible feeling and as a result gave birth to my
passion for modelling.
ZM: How did it feel to be crowned Miss Zimbabwe UK.......?
A: Being Miss Zimbabwe UK felt so surreal! I remember waking up the day after the pageant feeling like I was dreaming. I know
that those vivid thoughts will defiantly be engraved into my memory
for life.
FN:You are a bio-medical sciences university student and
in more ways than one fulfil the beauty with brains criteria? What
made you enter the pageant?
A:I have always wanted to use the talents that I was blessed
with to help others. I saw the pageant as the perfect opportunity to
combine the two and thus pass the blessing on.

ZM:Most headlines focused on the fact that you play football
as a defender. Tell us about your involvement in football?
FN:My passion for football stared almost unintentionally at
a young age. The boys would not allow me to join in their football
games because “girls don’t play football”. I was determined to prove
them wrong so I began playing football and fell in love with the
beautiful game. I played for my school team where I developed my
technique and adapted my athletic pace for defensive role. I then
went on to captain a college side to a number of trophies as a centre
back, including the prestigious County Cup. In addition to this I
played at club level for Poole Town Ladies Football club, where I was
able to compete in the F.A Cup. Currently I play at university level
and with one Woman of the Match Award under my belt I am very
excited for what this season will bring.
ZM:Which football team do you follow?
FN:I have and always will be a true gunner at heart; no matter
how painful watching Arsenal sometimes is! I started supporting
Arsenal when legends like captain Tony Adams were making way for
players such as Kolo Toure, It has been an amazing journey! I know
that this season will be a tough one, especially after the loss of our
captain Van Persie, but I have faith that the boys will deliver.
ZM:Closing message, anything you want to say to Zimbabweans?
FN: I am extremely proud of my country and to be a Zimbabwean. I adore everything about my country from the breath-taking
scenery, to the loving African spirit of my people. To say that I loved
my country would be an understatement!
I am truly overwhelmed by all the support that everyone has
