If this article below, apparently a leak from inside Blair's offce,is
true that Eslvon is circling the globe
previewing Bush's forthcoming climate proposal and begging off international
dissapproval, that is not a good thing and proves the cozy relationship we
suspect.
Excuse the typo halfway down the article below "Bush's London trip''
should be Raymond.

In bed with Bush
Just why did Lee Raymond, the head of EssolEslron and the most
ecologically-challenged man alive, drop in on Tony Blair last week for a
45-minute chat? Raymond, you will remember, helped form George Bush's
pro-oil, anti-Kyoto agenda, and is credited with persuading the president to
repudiate the whole treaty immediately after he was elected. Hence the green
lobby's current Esso/Ex..on boycott. Bush's London visit, it transpires, was
to persuade Blair not to join the chorus of international disapproval that
is bound to follow the president's state of the union speech last night when
he outlined new US "voluntary" proposals to cut greenhouse gas emissions a
policy which failed before, hence the need for Kyoto. Bush's position was
best expressed by Raymond at last year's Emon/ Esso shareholders' meeting.
"The [Kyoto] protocol is unworkable, unfair, unattractive and damaging to
vital American interests."
