Welcome to Jaxson’s®.
The year 1940. The Ford family reminded Americans that it was okay to paint their cars any color they wanted,
as long as the color was black. A youthful Joe DiMaggio was surpassing long standing batting averages. The pop
music world was moving to the sounds of Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey. History was made at the New York
Paramount, as a handful of paid co-eds swooned to the voice of a skinny singer from Hoboken.

collections of rural American
memorabilia,

a world class automobile
license plate collection.
It was at that time the Udell
family moved to Florida
from the East, bringing with
them generations of food
knowledge and decades old,
secret recipes for making ice
cream. The family traditions
and secret recipes fell to the
hands of youthful Monroe
Udell.
Over the last 59 years, many
of our family of patrons have
returned from vacation trips with a gift for owner Monroe
Udell, which has helped build the collection and forged
a relationship that has made Jaxson’s® a favorite among
Floridians and visitors.
The post WW II years paved
the way for tremendous
growth throughout Florida
and especially the Gold
Coast. Monroe Udell settled
in Dania, a quaint and quiet
cornmunity. It was here
that Jaxson’s® Ice Cream
Parlour and Restaurant had
its beginnings. And here, more than fifty nine years later, it is still the one and only “original” Jaxson’s® in the
United States.
Founder Monroe Udell enjoyed many accolades and awards
from critics and the food service industry.
And while the ice cream eatery enjoys 59 years of continued
operations, the history which is Jaxson’s® predate the year
1946, when the Udell family moved to South Florida from the
East, bringing with them decades of old recipes for cream and
food preparation.
With an unyielding enthusiasm Monroe Udell established goals of uncompromising quality and service. Through
these years these goals have earned Jaxson’s® the reputation of being South Florida’s most popular ice cream
and dining parlour.
Jaxson’s® takes special pride in all of its products. Jaxson’s®
Ice Cream and toppings are prepared daily on premises using
the freshest dairy cream, berries and nuts. In addition, our
sodas, sundaes and other ice cream creations are topped with
real whipped cream. The same concern and attention is given
in the preparation of all foods in Jaxson’s ® Country Kitchen.
Jaxson’s® takes very special pride in its product. All of our ice cream and toppings are prepared daily on the
premises using only the freshest dairy cream and first quality, tree-ripened fruits and berries. Only select and
imported nuts are served. In addition, our sodas, sundaes and other ice cream creations are topped with real
whipped cream. The same concern and attention is given the preparation of all foods in Jaxson’s Country
Kitchen.
At Jaxson’s®, ice cream creations and delicious food are served in an atmosphere of early American charm. It
brings to mind a time when families gathered to enjoy the good things in life and more importantly each other.
