St Lawrence Market North Redevelopment Project Project Update November 2014 prepared by with files and thanks to www.slna.ca St Lawrence Market North Redevelopment Project Scope of Work: Construction of Temporary Market Building Demolition of current North Market including archeology & environmental studies Construction of New North Market St Lawrence Market North Redevelopment Project Timeline* 2014 Jan – Nov: Work group and community consultation Nov/Dec: Site preparation, temporary market 2015 Jan- Apr: Temporary market construction Mar- Oct: Archeology digs, North Market demolition 2016 North Market Construction July: 2017 North Market Completion, Temporary market removal * Dates subject to change New North Market - International design competition - November 2011, Award of design contract to Adamson Associates Architects of Toronto and Rogers Stirk Harbour +Partners from London, England New North Market Building Outline 5th Floor: Courts 3&4th Floor: Court services 2nd Floor: Multiuse including seniors’ centre 1st Floor: Market space, farmer & antique Underground Parking (250) New North Market Looking north to St Lawrence Hall Temporary Market Outline Building will take up the entire floor plate of the existing parking lot All sidewalks & traffic lanes remain open on Jarvis, Esplanade and Market 1 traffic lane and north sidewalk closes on Wilton All services will be indoors & connected to municipal services – water, sanitary and sewer Connection to Toronto Hydro for power & gas utility for gas service Building will be a pre-engineered structure with a steel truss system, insulated wall assembly, heating, cooling, ceiling fans, high bay lighting and electrical. Trucks will access building at the SE corner and exit via NE corner.
