Extrusion Blow Molds
Since the early 1960's Wentworth has been supplying
extrusion blow molds both for monolayer and
CoExtrusion applications in HDPE and PP. We have
supplied over 75,000 blow mold cavities for containers
such as household detergents, cleaning fluids, oil
canisters, personal care, cosmetics, food applications
and many more.
We provide our customers with 3D product design
support, manufacture molds for shuttle, long stroke,
wheel and Plax/BDS blow molding machines and
sample prototype molds for new containers.
Before we design an extrusion blow mold we verify with our customer key features such as:
• Machine mounting of the mold onto the machine platens
• Mold feature such as blow dome, striker plates, IML, detabbers, etc.
• Types of mold materials to be used optimizing mold
performance
• Pinch-off details to strengthen weld lines and improve
product integrity
• Optimized mold cooling layouts to maximize outputs per
blow cavity
• Mold surface finish e.g. sandblast grit, vapour honed or
highly polished
• Engraving requirements e.g. customer artwork, logos, etc.
