Check Deposit.
Commerce Bank Mobile Banking already offers you the convenience and flexibility of managing your accounts
anytime, anywhere. Now, you can quickly and securely deposit checks using our Mobile Banking apps for
Apple and Android™ smartphones. It's a free service that's as easy as taking a picture with your phone!*
Once you’ve submitted a deposit, you’ll receive rapid confirmation that your images have successfully been
uploaded and your deposit is being processed, and funds will be credited the next business day*.
We have created this User Guide as a resource to familiarize you with the easy-to-use Mobile Check Deposit
service and to provide troubleshooting recommendations.
Get started today!
Mobile Check Deposit is an added feature within our free Mobile Banking apps for Apple and Android™
smartphones. If you are an existing Online Banking user, simply log in and navigate to Preferences > Mobile
Check Deposit to self-enroll.
If you do not use Online or Mobile Banking but wish to enroll, visit www.bankatcommerce.com or speak with a
personal banker at any one of our convenient locations.

and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
*Web access is required to use Mobile Banking and Mobile Check Deposit. Check with your wireless carrier for fees that may apply. Mobile Check

Making a Deposit
1. Log in to Mobile Banking and select
“Make a Deposit” from the Main Menu.
2. Select “Submit a Deposit.”

3. Choose the checking account to which you wish to make
the deposit, key in the amount of the deposit, and enter
the check number. If you have multiple checking
accounts, use the drop-down control (1) to switch
between accounts. When you’re done, select “Next” (2).
4. Select “Capture Image.”

5. Position the phone over the check, ensuring
all four corners are within the confines of
the screen. Select “Capture.”
7. The image will be transferred (speed depends
on network conditions). If the transfer is successful, you
will see the message, “Your media was sent successfully.”
Select “Close.”
6. If you are satisfied with the image, select “Use.”
Otherwise, select “Retake” and recapture the front of
the check.
8. Select “Next.”

9. Ensure that the check is properly endorsed with your
signature and “For deposit only to Commerce Bank”
and select “Capture Image.”
11. If you are satisfied with the image, select “Use.”
Otherwise, select “Retake” and recapture the back of
the check.
10. Position the phone over the check, ensuring
all four corners are within the confines of
the screen. Select “Capture.”
12. The image will be transferred (speed depends
on network conditions). If the transfer is successful, you
will see the message, “Your media was sent successfully.”
Select “Close.”

13. Select “Next.”
14. Review the details of the deposit. If all the information
is correct, select “Submit.” Otherwise, select “Back.”
15. If the deposit is successful and accepted, you will
see a receipt screen with the details of the deposit and a
Confirmation Code. If you receive an error message,
reference the following page for assistance.
16. You can review all past Mobile Check Deposits on the
RDC History Page when you select “Make a Deposit”
from the Main Menu. Please note: Mobile Check
Deposits will not appear in your account history until
they actually post to your account.

Troubleshooting
If you receive any of the following messages when submitting a deposit, please follow the respective instructions.
Error Message
Recommendation
Cannot read data on bottom of check, rotate check and
please retake photo.
Ensure that the check is not upside down, and that the
bottom of the check is unobstructed and completely
visible in the photo.
Check was previously submitted for deposit. Unable to
process this check.
The software has detected the check as a duplicate, and it
cannot be processed.
Could not find endorsement on back of check. Please make
sure check is endorsed and retake photo.
Ensure that the check is properly endorsed with your
signature and “For Deposit Only to Commerce Bank,” and
that the endorsement is completely visible in the photo.
Please retake photo. Hold camera steady, use good
lighting, ensure four check corners are visible.
The quality of your image is too low, and the software
cannot read the check. Placing the check on a solid black
or white background may be helpful.
If, after reviewing these tips, you are still experiencing trouble in submitting your deposit, please contact our
