Message from ISKCON Founder-Acharya
His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

the temple of Krishna, or God. And
for the people, they were satisfied in
villages” --- Morning Walk- May 24,

“If we have got the tendency for
making a house or construction
of some building with stones

About the Project
Started in 2003 by ISKCON Chowpatty, Govardhan
Ecovillage (GEV) is an award-winning farm community
situated at Galtare, 108 kms north of Mumbai. This project is a
humble attempt to fulfill Srila Prabhupada’s dream of
establishing ideal farm communities based on the principles of
service to each other, to Mother Earth and to all living beings,
stemming from and culminating in loving devotional service to
Lord Krishna.
GEV has set several milestones in the areas of organic farming,
forest conservation, alternative energy, green building,
symbiotic waste recycling etc. All these eco-initiatives at GEV
are powered by the spiritual principles of harmony and respect,
understanding that everything in Nature belongs to God and
should be used in His service. Consequently, GEV is coming
up with a beautiful temple of Sri Sri Radha Krishna as the
epicenter of all its activities. Some of the features of the
project are:
