From the Chairman’s Desk . . . .
Nothing is more powerful than an idea. The impetus to start a ‘dance school’,
Vel’s Natyalaya in 2011 was just a spark. The school, a Centre for Performing
Arts was incepted to encourage and enhance fresh talents. Vels’ Natyalaya has
been active on campus, putting on numerous shows and presentations. The
3rd season of NRITHYA SANKALPAM, a dazzling Salangai Poojai with
180 graceful ensemble, was successfully organised amidst great expectations
in March 2014. Today I am truly delighted to host the first edition of
BHARATHANATYA ARANGETRAM, an exploration into authentic
artistic Indian dance form. The riveting performance of the promising pupils
is sure to leave every dance fan stunned and speechless.
Music is a magical gift and an incredible force. Vel’s Ragas was instituted in
June 2014 for youngsters to begin their musical initiation in rhythm and ragas.
We are excited to explore the first leg of the musical journey of
SWARABHISHEKAM, a repertoire of select devotional compositions
revered by musical connoisseurs. The distinct strain of music is sure to
transport the audience to a beautiful spiritual plane.
Let’s celebrate life through music and dance.
