Again and again you called us into covenant with you...
Excerpt from Eucharistic Prayer D, The Book of Common Prayer
God’s Covenants
Fr. Jambor’s series of sermons on covenants continues through March 25 at the 9:00 a.m. and
11:15 Sunday Eucharists. Covenants are featured in the Old Testament lessons during Lent, notes
Fr. Jambor.
The first sermon focused on Noah and the Flood and the covenant God makes with every living
creature. The second covered the Abramic Covenant, (Gen. 17, 1-7, 15-16).
Coming next in the series:
Sunday, March 11 – The Sinaitic (or Mosaic) Covenant, the covenant God makes on Mount
Sinai through Moses with the giving of the Ten Commandments, will be explored this coming
Sunday.
Sunday, March 18 – “Refreshment Sunday” – Using the Gospel of the day, John 3:16, we will
connect the breaking of covenants with the Gospel. This is also Refreshment Sunday, which
offers a “break” during the solemnity of Lent. First Communions will be celebrated and flowers
will again appear in the church.
Sunday, March 25 – The “New Covenant”
and how God’s repeated covenants point
toward Jesus Christ (Jer. 31:31-34).
Sunday, April 1 – Palm Sunday, marking
the beginning of Holy Week with Maundy
Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday. The
Easter Vigil is Saturday, April 7. Easter Day is
Sunday, April 8.

Before Lent, a Pancake Supper & Mardi Gras fun
Parishioners gathered in DeWolfe Hall for a Shrove Tuesday pancake feast cooked up by
the Men’s Fellowship. After the meal, the Mardi Gras fun ensued with the crowning
of a king and queen and crafts for children. Fr. Jambor explained why we bury the
Alleluias as we enter the solemn season of Lent, which began the next day with Ash
Wednesday Holy Eucharist and the imposition of ashes.

HOSPITAL VISITORS
tHURSDAY SISTERS
When I Was Sick
You Visited Me
Changing Their Meeting Day
When a member of the parish is
hospitalized and requests it, one
of the priests will visit him or
her. But we also have a group of
trained volunteers who visit as
well. We are looking for a few
more people who might feel called
to this ministry. Hospital visitors
should have a willingness to serve, a comforting manner, and an
understanding of the importance of confidentiality. Volunteers
are scheduled on a monthly basis, but only make visits, of
course, when there is someone in the hospital on the days they
are scheduled. Volunteers do receive training before being
scheduled. If you feel called to this ministry, please contact
Norm Coder at [email protected] or 817-732-3161.
Thursday Sisters will now be meeting on Tuesdays starting
in March. (We know you want to know, but no word yet on
whether they’re changing the name to Tuesday Sisters.)
This is a group of women who meet weekly for 1 1/4 hours to
discuss a book related to the spiritual life and share where we
see God working in our lives. New members are invited to join
whenever we begin a new book.
So, if you are a woman and this sounds interesting to you, please
join us on Tuesday, March 13, when we begin a new book:
Speaking of Sin by Barbara Brown Taylor. We gather at 9 a.m
in the Parish Parlor for coffee and then begin promptly at 9:15
a.m. The book will be available in St. Anne’s Bookstore; it can
be purchased online; and it is available for Kindle.
If you have questions, please contact Mthr. Melanie Barbarito;
call 817-732-1424 or email [email protected].
Children’s Lenten Series
Chocolate
For Lent
Continues March 7,
14 and 28
7:15 to 8:00 p.m.
in the Angel Room
For the five Wednesdays in
Lent, the children will watch a segment of Gene Wilder’s
Willie Wonka and The Chocolate Factory and focus on a different
characters. Each of the characters ties into one of the Seven
Deadly Sins of extravagance, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath,
envy and pride. The characteristics of each child in the story
will be understood in the Light of Luke 15, the story of The
Prodigal Son, also known as The Forgiving Father. The deadly
sins will be followed up with the seven heavenly virtues of
purity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness and
humility. For more information, please email Lisa Nelms at
[email protected] or call 817-732-1424.

All Saints’ Episcopal School
Take a bow, All Saints’ stars!
We may jokingly at times say to the nearest teenager, “Save your drama for your mama.”
But if they actually took that advice to heart, we wouldn’t have a chance to see how very
talented they can be.
A number of youth with connections to All Saints’ Episcopal Church stepped up to perform
as cast members and musicians for their peers, family and the community in Little Shop of
Horrors, presented recently by All Saints’ Episcopal School.
This award-winning musical, by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, was performed
February 16-17 at W.E. Scott Theatre in Fort Worth’s Cultural District.
Cast members from the church and their roles included Chet Grudzinski as Mushnik;
Chris Jambor as dentist Orin Scrillo; Kathryn McDaniel as Crystal and Katita Miller
as Chiffon.
Of the three musicians providing the all-important musical underpinnings for this
production, two are church members. They are Sarah Evans, who played bass, and Justin
Miller on guitar.
Congratulations to these and all of our talented young members who are making us proud with their accomplishments!
The Cowtown
A cup of cold water
Several early-rising All Saints’ volunteers represented the
church in the community during the Cowtown 5K Run on
Saturday, Feb. 25. They were on duty at 7:00 a.m. to staff
our fluid station at North Hi Mount Elementary School.
They greet runners -- lots of them children -- and offered
them needed hydration as they ran their race.
Thanks to all of the fluid station volunteers, who were: Ed
Adcock and Mthr. Melanie Barbarito, co-coordinators,
plus Ed Luke, Peter Rutledge, Jill Kolstad, John
Nichols, Nancy Nichols, Eric Rutledge, Janie Rector,
Jeff Nichols, Lynn Nichols, Bill Waites, Mike
McQuitty, Mimi Carnes and Mary Alex Carnes.
Bible Pop Quiz: Which book of the Bible contains this
phrase?
...and whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little
ones in the name of a disciple — truly I tell you, none of these
will lose their reward.” Answer on Page 6.

Saints’ fluid station.

and now we’re working on the Tootsie Rolls. The blanket has come in very

Thanks for keeping me in your prayers! Love, Kip

LAY EUCHARISTIC VISITORS
Sharing Communion with Shut-Ins
Lay Eucharistic Visitors (LEV) take Holy Communion once
each month to parishioners, who, because of illness or infirmity,
are unable to attend services at church. The visitors leave the
church immediately after receiving the host at the altar and
go to parishioners, in hospitals, nursing homes, houses and
apartments, and share communion.
This enables the whole congregation, including shut-ins, to share
communion together, as part of the Body of Christ. The visitors
enjoy providing this ministry and it is well received. We have a
compatible organization and schedule and the teams of visitors
work well together, extending hope and friendship to those in
need.
All Saints’ needs more volunteers for this particular
ministry. If you have an interest in participation in this
meaningful service, you will need to attend a short training
session to be announced at a later date. Please contact Fr.
Jambor to let him know of your interest.
All are welcome and invited.
