Create a horseshoe section, as shown, and secure as SECTION 3.
Take remaining hair, on each side of the head, from just behind
the ear to the front hairline and secure as SECTIONS 1 and 2. All
remaining hair will be SECTION 4.
Start by taking a diagonal slice at the front hairline in SECTION 1.
Place on foil and apply FORMULA A to mid-lengths and ends. Use
a side brushing technique and diffuse the color towards the scalp.
Leave approximately 2.5-5 cm at the scalp to create depth.
Leave approximately ½ cm in between foils, and take another
diagonal slice. Apply FORMULA B 2 cm from the regrowth and
side brush through mid-lengths and ends. Continue alternating
FORMULAS A and B in this manner to back of head, and then
repeat in SECTION 2.
Divide SECTION 3 in half. Start on the right and take a diagonal
slice at the hairline. Place a foil and apply FORMULA A to the
mid-lengths and ends. Use a side brushing technique to diffuse the
color up toward the scalp area. Alternate applying FORMULAS A
and B in the same manner as SECTION 1 and 2. Continue working
to the crown. Repeat on the left side of SECTION 3.
In SECTION 4, weave a ½ cm subsection at nape. Place on foil
and apply FORMULA A from scalp to ends. Work in a brick-lay
pattern toward crown until entire section is complete.

For additional lightness at ends, take diagonal sections at the
sides, about a 1 cm from the front hairline. Using a free-hand
painting method, apply FORMULA B to the mid-lengths and ends.
Gently diffuse the lightener to avoid hard demarcation line.
Repeat process in each section of the head.

Allow to process at room temperature for up to 50 minutes. Rinse,
cleanse and blow dry thoroughly. Apply FORMULA C from scalp to
ends on hair. Process for 20 additional minutes.
Rinse, cleanse and condition using MATRIX Biolage or Total
Results™ shampoo and conditioner.

Section into quadrants, as shown.
Start by taking a ½ cm horizontal subsection above the ear in
SECTION 1. Weave section, place foil and apply FORMULA A from
½ cm off scalp to the start of pre-lightened ends. Do not overlap.
Use a side brushing technique to diffuse lightener near the scalp.
Be sure to leave ends out of foil so strands are not lightened
further. Continue application process by weaving horizontal
subsections until section is complete.
Repeat process in SECTIONS 2, 3 and 4.

Starting at the front of SECTION 1, apply FORMULA B to scalp
area. Dry brush color, downward and vertically, approximately
2.5 cm from scalp to create depth. Work through each quadrant
applying FORMULA B until complete.
Returning to SECTION 1, pick up hair left between highlighted foils.
Clip existing foils up for control. Weave section. Apply FORMULA C
from start of previously ombre colored hair through ends.
Work through each quadrant applying FORMULA C in this manner
until complete. Process for 50 minutes at room temperature.
Rinse thoroughly, cleanse and towel dry.

Apply FORMULA D from scalp to ends. Process up to 20 minutes
or until desired tone is achieved.
Rinse, cleanse and condition using MATRIX Biolage or Total
Results™ shampoo and conditioner.

BABYLIGHTS BLONDE

Carve a horseshoe-shaped section as shown so that the side part
divides the horseshoe in half. This is SECTION 3.
Create SECTION 1 on the left side with all remaining hair in front of
the ear. Repeat on opposite side to create SECTION 2.
Start in SECTION 1. Take a ½ cm diagonal subsection at the front
hairline and direct forward. Microweave the subsection, place on
foil and apply FORMULA A from just off scalp to ends. Use a dry
brush to diffuse lightener near the scalp by using a side brushing
technique. Complete section 1 by foiling in a brick lay manner.
Leave ½ cm sections of natural hair in between foils.
Mastery Point: To create a microweave, weave a sliced
subsection, and then re-weave the previously weaved hair for a
soft effect.

In SECTION 2, continue working in this manner. Follow the
curvature of SECTION 3.

In SECTION 3, start at the front hairline.
Repeat application process using a brick-lay pattern. Work toward
the back until horseshoe is complete.

Return to SECTION 1 and visually determine where additional
lightness is needed. Slice subsection between foils and apply
FORMULA B from mid-lengths through ends. Use a dry brush to
diffuse lightener toward scalp. Continue to slice sections until 2.5
cm back from hairline. Repeat in SECTION 2.
In SECTION 3, start at the front hairline and repeat slice pattern
in same manner as SECTIONS 2 & 3. Continue until 5 cm from
hairline.
Allow to process at room temperature for up to 50 minutes. Rinse,
cleanse and blow dry thoroughly.

Apply FORMULA C from scalp to ends and process until desired
tone is reached, or up to 20 minutes at room temperature.
Rinse, cleanse and condition using MATRIX Biolage or Total
Results™ shampoo and conditioner.

Section into quadrants as shown.
In SECTION 1, begin at nape and take a ½ cm horizontal slice.
Secure remaining hair above. Place slice on balayage board.
Free-hand paint FORMULA A onto perimeter of slice towards
mid-lengths, beginning approximately 2.5 cm off scalp. Apply
FORMULA B from mid-lengths to ends. Gradually use more
product as you approach ends to fully saturate subsection.
(Lightener should form a “V” on subsection.)
Continue working up towards crown in same manner until
SECTION 1 is complete. Repeat in SECTION 2.

Start by taking a diagonal slice at the front hairline in SECTION
3. Micro-weave the slice, place on foil and apply FORMULA B to
mid-lengths and ends. Use a side brushing technique to diffuse the
color toward the scalp area. Continue foiling toward the back and
stop when 2.5 cm away from hairline. Repeat in SECTION 4.
On remaining hair in SECTIONS 3 & 4, repeat previous balayage
technique used on sections 1 & 2. Process until gold or for up to
50 minutes at room temperature. Rinse thoroughly, cleanse and
towel dry.
Mastery Point: To create a microweave, weave a sliced
subsection, and then re-weave the previously weaved hair for a
soft effect.
