President’s Letter
Hi Fellow Members;
Finally spring is just around the corner! Can't wait for our
traditional St. Patrick's Day dinner this month!
I want to thank all of our members for supporting our
parking lot project this year! We still have a ways to go to
pay for this project so if you haven't contributed and are
able we still need your help. Congratulations to Brian
Larson for winning the Big Booze Barrel Raffle!
The date for the Spring Member/Guest Golf Tournament
has changed and will now be on May 14th, 2016 we have
secured the course and that date. A sign- up sheet is in
the clubhouse.
While we can't thank all our volunteers enough for the
job they do. I'm particularly proud of our newer members
that are chipping in and even taking over some of our
meals and duties. We need that new support to keep our
club functioning.
We have been successful in signing up for community
service from the City of Las Vegas. We are now getting
help from them and North Las Vegas.

Sunshine Report
ON A SAD NOTE WE LOST ANOTHER MEMBER OF OUR
CLUB ARLYNE FEAKER PASSED AWAY FROM AN ILLNESS.
ALL OF US AT THE GERMAN AMERICAN CLUB WISH TO
EXTEND OUR DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO HER FAMILY
AND CLOSE FRIENDS. SHE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED.
A big "thank you" to Leanne Crabtree who treated us to
the Chinese Heimtabend on February 10th ! Making our
own Won Tons was great fun and all the courses were
delicious ! Thank you also to Justin and everyone who
helped !

theme by Rita Taschner Cabbage Rolls, Pierogis, and

Golf News
Wow it's already time to get
ready for the annual spring
member/guest tournament .
This year the tournament will be
on May 14th, 2016 at Durango
hills golf club. The course and the
date has been secured. Our
format will be captains choice 4
person scramble format. Anyone
with basic skills and good golf
etiquette is invited to play. A sign
up sheet is in the clubhouse. Next month we'll have
more info. Be sure to set aside May 14th and start
inviting friends you wish to play with us. We will be
picking teams on the Saturday night a week before the
tournament . TIME TO SIGN-UP

The Dance Group has resumed
practice every Thursday from
7pm to 8pm. If you’d like to
learn more about us or to join
us, please come see us at the
club.
Schützen Group News
The Schützen Group meets the
first Saturday of ever month at
our clubhouse at 11am. Our next
meeting will be at the
clubhouse on March 5th . We
are looking for new members,
either Male or Female. If you
are interested in seeing what
we are about, please come visit.
Club Rental
Our club is available for rent during some week days and
some Sundays. If you are a planning a celebration,
consider having it at the German- American-Club. The
rates are affordable and we have a full service bar.

January Financial
Treasurers Report
Well, Folks, it seems that profits and losses come and go
every other month! In January we show a loss of
$2079.61. You need to look at the line item entitled
“Actual Operating Profit (Loss)” under “NOTE”.
In actuality it’s not as bad as it looks. Approximately,
$2000 in food and other expenses belong to the month
of December. They just happened to be paid in January.
Therefore, the December profit of $4302.65 should be
approx. $2000 less and the January loss should be $80 at
most. You might also notice that in January we paid the
Nevada Sales Tax for December. Since we did a lot of
business during that month, the December Sales Tax is a
hefty $891.62.
We currently have $2,280.10 in the Parking Lot Fund
receiving $1,149 in donations in January. At the end of
January, we had $25,037.98 in savings and $16,704.11 in
the checking account for a total of $41,742.09.

Thank you Christiana Wessel for the beautiful fresh
flowers for the tables and thank you Rita Taschner for the
chocolate hearts for each dinner guest ! It added a lot to
the evening !

The Las Vegas German Show presents:
Friday Nights
The club is open on most Fridays (see calendar). Card
players engage in several different card games. Members
and guests are welcome to come down and play cards,
have a drink and socialize. Chess, board games, and small
meetings are welcome as space allows. Friday is Potluck
night, so don't forget to bring a dish to share if you are
participating.

Fabiano Buffadini (Tenor) direct from Germany , Tickets
are $ 20.00 and include a Cake and Appetizer Buffet

Andy will be singing his favorite tunes and many more.
Tickets are $ 15.00 and everyone brings their favorite
Appetizer. This has worked well over the years and it is
always amazing what people bring !
