IS ANYBODY LISTENING ?
Choked drain
This refers to the drainage
system in Rajbagh which is
blocked for some time now.
We are suffering badly as
the mainhole in our lane is
damaged, putting lives of the
residents at risk. A woman of
our colony fell into it and had
injury that got her 8 stitches.
We appeal concerned
officials to take some
immediate measures so that
we get some relief.

Rate list
This refers to the
Srinagar city particularly
civil line areas where most
of the mobile vegetable
vendors sell varieties of
vegetables on exorbitant
rates freely and fearlessly
in absence of approved
rate lists. A customer
gets totally confused how
to ascertain the actual
cost of each vegetable
and whatever the sellers
charge, they pay which is
sheer injustice. Irony is
that authorities concerned
do not bridle felonious
instead watch such
road gets inundated and it
becomes extremely difficult
for residents to move out of
their houses. The people are
suffering badly, particularly
school children. Even
transporters refuse to move
over these wretched roads,
making us face problems. We
appeal to the concerned MLA,
Mushtaq Shah to look into the
matter and redress the same.

As the footpath is covered with stones, pedestrians are compelled to walk on the road at Rajbagh. This is the picture of
Government High School
Kunzer building that collapsed
by heavy snowfall in February
this year. It manifests the
official apathy in general
and the insensitivity of the
education department in
particular. Almost four months
have passed but no one
bothered to pay a visit to this
school and arrange for its
rebuilding or repairing. Had
it been someone’s personal
property, no one would have
dared to touch it but, the
people, living adjacent to the
school have taken away it tin
sheets, timber and bricks.
We appeal to the
concerned officials or the
authorities to kindly have a
look into this serious matter
and restore the school
building to its original if they
can’t reconstruct it presently.

No electricity
We, the residents of
Mohanpora Pakherpora,
Budgam are facing enormous
problems due to non
availability of electricity in
our area for the two months.
Most importantly, we cannot
study or write our lessons
as soon as dusk sets in for
want of light. We hope that
concerned authorities will
look into our grievance and
rectify it within shortest
possible time.

DASTI QUOTATION
Sd/Superintendent of Police,

We, the residents of village
Krangsoo are facing a problem
that has a local dimension as
those who are living along
the road have encroached
upon the same and it has
shrunk to a narrow lane. Last
year, the R&B authorities had
served notice to all those
who violated the norms and
occupied the road but no
action has been taken in this
regard so far. As the road
could not be macadamized for
unknown reasons, people of
village grabbed the released
land again and encroachments
stand where they were a year
before.
We appealed to the R&B
officials to get the land vacated
of the illegal encroachments
as per the revenue record, but
it failed to tackle the grievance
of people. Now we appeal to
the R&B minister to look into
the matter and free the road of
all the illegal encroachments
so that the road is spared
from becoming a bylane of the
village.
