JAMMU, MAR 22: In
view of terror attacks
planned by the Pakistanbased Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit on Indian Army and
Paramilitary forces, the
Army has enhanced security grid across Jammu and
Kashmir, particularly in
civilian areas where the
units and schools are set
up.
Intelligence agencies on
March 20 reportedly issued
an alert on possible terror
attacks,
planned
by
Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants, on Indian Army and
Paramilitary forces.
''Though security in
Army
areas
already
remains tight and there was
no compromise ever but
after a fresh alert was
sounded by the intelligence
agencies that LeT may
carry attacks on Indian
Army and paramilitary
forces, security further has
been intensified,'' defence
sources here said.
They said that civilian
areas where Army units
and commands are established vis-a-vis the Army
Schools are located, are
under tight vigil and additional measures have been
taken to keep security in
place to avoid any kind of
untoward like incident.
''Such
threats
had
always been a routine it is
not a new affair but we
never make any compromise on security issue and
maintain close watch on
suspicious/unwanted
movements around these
areas,'' sources added.
Out of 10 terrorists, who
are planning to launch an
attack on Indian Forces,
only four of them possess
weapons,
intelligence
agencies reported. They
further said that LeT's Abu
Dujana and four other
ultras recently managed to
escape from an encounter,
between the security officials and the militants, in
Jammu and Kashmir's
