BE ALERT AND AWARE Especially of construction vehicles moving in and out of work zones! DRIVE AT THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT Speeding fines in work zones are $ DOUBLED $ $ DOUBLED $ Construction Communication Program • Town Communication Meetings Construction Communication Program • Town Communication Meetings Lessons learned • The use of low profile barrier to increase site line distance • Stage revisions at Bridge No. 532, to lesson the impact of proposed AT&T fiber optic cables relocation. • 345 KV line conflicts. • Utility Relocations through the early breakout project 161-137 Lessons learned • • • The use of wider lanes at intersections to bypass left turning vehicles. Periodic meetings with Town representatives. The use of Traffic persons to help facilitate traffic movement Lessons learned • • • Stage construction limitations: Contractor was allowed to open up more than 1200 feet of work area to stay on schedule. Our Lady of Fatima Drainage Outlet: Successful resolution of a critical issue mitigated significant project delays. Meeting with the Wilton Garden Club resulted in modifications to the planting plans. Construction Contract • Contractor: Tilcon CT, Inc. New Britain • Original Contract Value: $35 Million • Revised Contract Value: $ 38 Million Construction Contract • Time Elapsed to Date: 568 Days or 68.93% Contract Duration .
