May 3. RegistraƟons for those wishing to conƟnue will
begin in August.
ConfirmaƟon Yr. 1: Saturday, May 17th is the last day of
classes. RegistraƟons for Yr. 2 will begin in August.
ConfirmaƟon Yr. 2:Rehearsal for Saturday’s ceremony
will be on Thursday, May 22nd at 6pm in the Church. Only students and sponsors need to be present.
It is not a best practice for a parent, guardian, employer,
or manager to blindly trust everyone who works with
children. Yet, paranoia of those who work with children
is also not a best practice. There is a healthy balance. By
regularly and frequently questioning the actions and
motives of those who work with children, parents and
other adults can audit the programs their children participate in and help keep caregivers accountable for their
work. In this
process, parents and other adults can create a constant fear of being caught in the mind of a perpetrator. By channeling this kind of healthy scrutiny and

TRADICIONES DE NUESTRA FE
Después de la muerte de Jesús, los discípulos habían
regresado a su antiguo oficio de la pesca para así
ganarse la vida, pues no sabían qué hacer. El Jesús
resucitado tuvo que pescárselos de nuevo. En su
tercera aparición, Jesús pidió a los discípulos que
lanzaran sus redes al mar. Estos sacaron 153 peces
del mar, número representativo de todas las naciones
del mundo. Esta pesca milagrosa que tuvo lugar en
Galilea, nos recuerda otra pesca milagrosa hecha en
Brasil.
En 1716 tres pescadores pescaban en el Río Paraiba
y al lanzar la red al agua sacaron una estatua de la
Virgen de la Concepción. Después, la pesca fue tan
abundante que por poco hundía el barco.
La virgencita de 36 centímetros había pasado muchos
años en el agua por lo cual había tomado el rico color
oscuro de muchos latinoamericanos. La devoción a
Nuestra Señora de Aparecida creció hasta que la
familia que la había encontrado la dio al pueblo para
que en 1745 se construyera para ella una capilla
pública. De esta manera, Aparecida pasó de las redes
a los corazones, dando una rica pesca de personas
para su Hijo.

¿SABIA USTED?
Escrutinio de los programas de niños
ayudaría a crear ambientes saludables
No es la mejor práctica para padres, guardianes, empleadores o gerentes el confiar ciegamente
en todos los que trabajan con niños. Sin embargo, la
paranoia con quienes trabajan con niños tampoco es la
mejor práctica. Existe un balance saludable. El cuestionar regular y frecuentemente las acciones y motivaciones de quienes trabajan con niños, padres y otros
adultos, puede servir de auditoría de los programas en
los que sus niños participan y ayudar a mantener a los
guardianes responsables del trabajo que hacen. En este
proceso, los padres y otros adultos pueden crear un
temor constante de ser sorprendidos con la mente de
un perpetrador. Al canalizar este tipo de escrutinio
saludable y asumir responsabilidad, los adultos
pueden crear un ambiente donde los niños sean
protegidos, donde exista calidad en el cuidado y
donde el abuso no sea tolerado. Para una copia del
