Mono Mosaic Tutorial
December 2005 Mono Mosaic Tutorial Dee Ruger showed me a wonderful piece of art from her son...and we were inspired to try to translate it into a stamped project. I love the way this turned out -- so graphic! Use high-contrast colors for best results. Supplies: - Dark Ink - Lighter, Contrasting Ink - White Cardstock (at least 6” x 6”) - Trimmer - Several Stamps with Strong Graphics - Double-Sided Adhesive - Cardstock (to match each color ink) - Pop Dots - Focal Stamp with a Large, Solid Image Step One: Step Two: Cut the white cardstock into four 1-1/2” wide strips. Using dark ink, stamp one of the graphic stamps along one strip. © 2002-2006Patstamps.com Step Three: Repeat by stamping other graphic stamps on the other strips. Step Four: Step Four Continued: Step Five: Cut each strip into 1-1/2” pieces. Cut contrasting cardstock into a 5” x 5” piece. Step Six: Step Seven: Arrange the 1-1/2” pieces on the cardstock in a square, leaving a 1/4” border around the edge, by placing the squares randomly. The squares should butt against each other. It is okay to leave the center square blank. Apply adhesive and replace squares on the background. © 2002-2006Patstamps.com Step Seven Continued: Step Eight: Set piece aside. Adhere four extra squares onto another piece of cardstock to create a base for the main image. Step Nine: Step Ten: Stamp the focal point image on the extra cardstock base. Trim excess and mat on contrasting cardstock. Step Eleven: Step Eleven: Apply pop-dots to the back of the matted image.
