Splatter Tutorial
Splatter Tutorial June/July 2009 Easy, fast and unique -- you might even say that this is a technique with “just a splash”. There are two quick methods shown here. Just make sure to protect your work area - because this can get very messy! Supplies: - 3 Coordinating Colors of Dye Ink - Palette with Wells - Cardstock - Wide Paintbrush - Water Bottle Optional: Shallow Box Step One: Protect the work surface*. Place one or two drops of dye ink into different wells on the palette. *Note: Placing the paper inside a shallow box will help contain unwanted splatter marks on the work surface! © 2002-2009Patstamps.com Step Two: Add a teaspoon of water to each of the dye-filled wells. Optional: The dye inks can be used “full-strength” -- this produces smaller, more concentrated splashes of color. Step Three: Step Four: Step Five: Step Six: Dip the edge of the paintbrush into one of the wells. Dip the brush into the second well, and splatter that color over the first. Note: Holding the brush above the cardstock, flick the paintbrush to splatter ink onto the cardstock. Repeat with the third ink color. Allow inks to dry and mat use as desired on finished piece. For finer spatters, load the paintbrush with ink and tap the mid-part of the brush. Ink can be air-dried or the process can be sped along with a heat tool. © 2002-2009Patstamps.com Finished Card Artwork: Pat Huntoon Stamps: Inkadinkado Finished Card Artwork: Manna Caffrey Stamps: I Brake for Stamps © 2002-2009Patstamps.com Finished Card Artwork: Evelyn Spikes Stamps: River City Rubber Works Finished Card Artwork: Ann Clack Stamps: Rubberstamp Ave Finished Card Artwork: Vada Schutz Stamps: Impression Obsession, Cornish Heritage Farms Finished Card Artwork: Chris Dickinson Stamps: Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps © 2002-2009Patstamps.com Finished Card Artwork: Pat Huntoon Stamps: Stamp Attack UK, Stampin’ Up! © 1990-2009 Stampin’ Up! ® Finished Card Artwork: Chris Dickinson Stamps: Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Finished Card Artwork: Judy Jackson Stamps: Endless Creations, Dawn Hauser Finished Card Artwork:Kimm Bennington-Thompson Stamps: Two Nancys Art Stamps, Stampin’ Up! © 1990-2009 Stampin’ Up! ® Finished Card Artwork: Manna Caffrey Stamps: I Brake for Stamps, smARTworks Finished Card Artwork: Manna Caffrey Stamps: I Brake for Stamps, Viva Las Vegas © 2002-2009Patstamps.com Finished Card Artwork: Kimm Bennington-Thompson Stamps: Unknown Finished Card Artwork: Vada Schutz Stamps: Two Nancys Art Stamps, The Angel Company © 2002-2009Patstamps.com Finished Card Artwork: Kimm Bennington-Thompson Stamps: Inkadinkado Finished Card Artwork: Pat Huntoon Stamps: Close To My Heart
