By the time you read this note, Christmas will be over and the new
year will be here. Hope everyone had a great Christmas. We had
a Christmas party for the players & their families on December 14
- it was a great time. Highlight of the night was the rookies singing
“rudolph the red-nosed reindeer - for those of you who missed it you missed a fun time.
January is another busy month with 8 home games and the AHL
all-star event at the end of the month in Atlantic City.
The first weekend of February, we are off to support our team on
the road in Manchester, nh and Portland, Maine. It is always a great
trip. If you haven’t signed up yet, please do so and join us for a
wonderful weekend.
I know the first few months of the season have not included a lot of
wins & it’s easy to get down. It is our job to continue to support our
team. We have a great coaching staff and a good team. We should
be getting some of the injured players back soon and hopefully some
wins will happen more frequently.
Have a happy new year!

And start the new year!
December BSENS Booster Club Meeting
On December 6, Mike Mckenna took the mic and acted as the moderator of a q&a
session between the Bsens boosters and Frank Lessard and himself. It was a very
entertaining meeting and we thank Mike for his enthusiasm and positive outlook. Highlights included:
Frankie Lessard was drafted by Carolina
Mike Mckenna played hockey & graduated from St. Lawrence University. He’s played
in Binghamton before as a member of Albany, Lowell & Norfolk. Also played in Las Vegas
& Tampa Bay. He is originally from St. Louis, Missouri and was drafted by Nashville.
One of the boosters asked Frankie about his reputation for scrappy fighting - his
response:
Mike Mckenna
It depends - you have to look at the roster & see who is on the other team - have to
know the right time.
Asked about his getting more ice time - the fourth line has a job to do - he got 50 pts
in 50 games in juniors as a defenseman.
If he wasn’t playing hockey - body building, teaching how to work out. Wears #44
since he used to wear #22 - and it wasn’t available - took 44 and had a good year decided to stick with it. Also likes to play golf.
His favorite player growing up was Mario Lemieux
Frankie Lessard
Mike Mckenna stated he would be a financial advisor and use his degree in economics
if he wasn’t playing hockey. He feels very fortunate to be playing a game he loves and
always looks for the positive in any city he has played in. Enjoying the Binghamton area
- lots of good restaurants and having fun. Has played in many places and can adjust likes to play in front of fans who care about the game. His favorite player was Greg Millen - goalie for the St. Louis Blues. Wears #29 which was Millen’s # also.
One of Mckenna’s community projects for the season is the paws program - has a great love of dogs and adopted his dog from a pound. Mike also turned the table and asked a booster member - David Spence - where he learned to yodel. David
stated that he was 21 yrs old and learned from records and old country western songs.
It was a very entertaining and fun evening - thanks Mike Mckenna for your fine efforts and enjoyable
conversations. TRIPS
There are only a few more seats left for the Manchester/
Portland trip on Feb. 3-5. There is a deadline of Dec
31st to sign up. If you are interested in going, please
let me know so you don’t miss out. You still have time
to sign up for the Norfolk trip on April 6-8. The day
trips for Albany & Rochester are still posted too. Come
to the table and sign up soon. They should be fun trips
and you don’t want to miss out.

ANDRE PETERSSON is the SENATOR to earn the ‘Player of the Month’ honors for
the month of November 2011, as voted by the members attending the December 6th
meeting. Andre, in his first year as a SENATOR, is here right from Sweden and a strong
part of our offense. He has been selected for his playmaking and assists. November
was a tough month, with the SENS (2-9) playing two games in NHL rinks (one as a
home game). He scored the game winning goal in one of those games on Thanksgiving
night. These efforts are what our team needs. Andre will receive a gift certificate award
of $50.00 at the ‘NUMBER 5’ restaurant.
Andre Petersson
CONGRATULATIONS and keep up the good work!

CHARITIES
Thank you so much to those who brought non perishable food donations on Dec.17th for CHOW.Our local
food banks are in great need of help this time of year especially when many are still recovering from the flood.
Along with an overflowing barrel of food the booster club also donated our share of that evenings 50/50 proceeds
to CHOW.
Our next 50/50 charity night will take place on January 27th with our share of that nights proceeds being
donated to Community Options. They already have a block of 20 tickets reserved for a group night and are
looking forward to that game. Community Options will also have a table set up on the concourse that night with
information about the upcoming cupids chase run/walk in February along with other raffle items.
If anyone has any suggestions on any local organizations that you would like to see the booster club do a 50/50
night for please let me know.
