RAGNAR TRAIL RELAY – ZION PONDEROSA
Zion National Park, Utah – February 26, 2013 - An estimated 2,000 runners will converge on Zion
Ponderosa Ranch Resort for a Ragnar Trail Relay on April 26-27, 2013. Trail runners will be excited to
participate at this southern Utah location that offers thousands of acres of private forested land literally
on the border of Zion National Park.
This Ragnar sanctioned race will consist of teams of either four or eight people who will run relay style
on natural surface trails through the woods and past scenic canyons. This event will cover 120 miles
and some strong elevation changes, with the average race time expected to be approximately 20 hours.
This particular Ragnar Trail Relay will begin in staggered starts between 2 pm and 7 pm on Friday
evening. Competitors will run throughout the night under a brilliant canopy of stars, and continue the
next day until their team has completed the course sometime between mid-morning and mid-afternoon.
As other team members are running their portion of the relay, the rest of the crowd will be cheering
them on, enjoying the night around bonfires, and participating in the festive atmosphere.

two Utah-based outdoor recreation minded companies, we feel this combination of outdoor adventure
next to Zion National Park will benefit all that participate." Most participants will bring tents and will
spread out across the vast meadows and open spaces at the ranch resort.
