A big ‘Thank You’ to the 2013 CYC/USRL Convention Arrangements Committee
n Kudos to the National Convention Arrangements Committee (NCAC) for a
doing a terrific job. The Committee was under the stewardship of Cecilia Kachkowski and her team. As has already been reported on several occasions, the 2013
CYC/USRL Biennial Convention held in Saskatoon last August was a great success not only on how well it was managed but also for the excellent facilities and
food services which were provided. But equally important, the financial report
has been recently finalized and the bottom line is significantly in the ‘black’.
The NCAC Executive consisted of the following sub-committees chairs and
executive members:
1) Convention Chair—Cec Kachkowski
2) Marketing Chair—Al Kachkowski
3) Events Services Chair—Mary Humen
4) Delegate Services Chair—Dobr. Joanne Makowsky
5) Committee Services Chair—Zennia Yuzik
6) Treasurer—Larry Balion
7) Secretary—Karen Korol

But for sure the Executive did not do all the work. Each Chair had a group of

The CYC/USRL National Executive Committee extends their most heart-felt
thanks and congratulations to all listed above for their hard work, dedication and
commitment to our community and CYC/USRL. No doubt there were others,
spouses, family members and friends who assisted some of those listed above. To
them, a big thanks is also extended. It’s this sort of support, dedication and effort
which makes our community the wonderful example that it is.

CYC/USRL National’s planning workshop
2013, November 15 & 16th in Regina
n As was indicated at the 2013 CYC /USRL Biennial Convention in Saskatoon this
past August, what is crucial to the organization’s future is not necessarily what
happens during the Convention but equally or more importantly what happens in
the intervening years between conventions. To this end the CYC/USRL National
Executive Committee organized a workshop for the weekend of November 15 &
16 in Regina to develop a workplan for the next two years, in particular, and possibly beyond. To the workshop were invited members of the CYC/USRL National
