the classics and they do a good job.

BESIDES THE WEATHER, WHY DO YOU CONTINUE TO CALL
SAN DIEGO HOME?
I am antisocial, and the thought of meeting a
new batch of humans frightens me. I’m currently
writing lyrics for 8 different bands and co-own
an indie record label. I love my friends and the
musicians I work with, and the idea of shouting
over some other rhythm section in a dive bar
in some strange town is the dumbest thing
I can imagine. Also, it’s not Jersey.

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?
I grew up in New Jersey, a fact I’ve tried to keep
in the closet, especially during the apogee of the
Jersey Shore TV show. Bon Jovi and Snookie
are ills The Sopranos and Bruce Springsteen’s
Nebraska can’t eclipse. Thank you for outing me.

BESIDES THE WEATHER, WHY DO YOU CONTINUE TO CALL
SAN DIEGO HOME?
Besides the beach and tasty waves, I’m
committed to growing the local arts scene.
I see too many peers leaving town for larger
markets, but my heart is in San Diego, and
I want to continue to develop the community

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?
I grew up in Palm Springs, on the mean streets

forward to summers the most, when my family
fled to the beach to escape the desert heat.
I always knew I’d eventually move to San Diego
— I was hooked on the lifestyle, obsessed
with the ocean and fish tacos.
