A monthly message from Mrs. Brennan
Greetings, Springmyer Families!
Throughout the course of this school year, Springmyer’s staff, PTA board, and
other parents and community members have worked to review and revive our
school’s vision statement and statement of core beliefs. It had been over fifteen
years since these statements had been created and it was time to update them
to reflect our changing world as well as our District’s new mission statement.
I am happy to share these updated statements with you now and even more
pleased to add how exciting it has been to see how our school community puts
them into practice on a daily basis.
Springmyer is a special place. It has been an honor to work with you and your
children this school year and to see the tremendous growth our students have
made. I know that this would not have been possible without your help -- both at
home and through your support of our school’s strong PTA. Thank you!
In partnership,
Amy Brennan
VISION STATEMENT
Springmyer Elementary, in partnership with our families and community, will be
recognized for maximizing students’ potential by providing high quality instruction,

quality learning outcomes.
High Quality Instruction: We believe all learners are unique individuals who deserve

they become independent and self-reliant individuals.
Respect: We believe that all individuals have inherent worth and value. As a result, we
strive to create an environment of mutual respect among students, parents, staff, and
community members.

Samantha Hughes
. . . is when I met my BFF Jayden Smart in kindergarten. Now we are here in fifth
grade, and we are still best friends. I remember when we sat by each other in first
grade. I was so excited, and I think she was too. I couldn’t live without her.
Julia Pitstick
. . . is meeting my best friends Karissa, Erin, Samantha, and Isabelle. My second
Springmyer memory is playing basketball with my friends. It was so much fun because
I was with my friends.
Georgia Kiphart

E. dressed in girl’s clothes and a wig.
Rhae Baker
. . . is when I learned how to play my first song on my flute.
. . . is my trip to Fernbank Park. We all had lunch at the park and we made
pinwheels and stuck them in mini water bottles with colorful sand in them. We flew

when we went to the art museum and saw all of the cool art.
Carson Greene
. . .is when I was in third grade and I got and A on everything/subject. This is my

My Favorite Springmyer Memory…
Mrs. Gratz’s Class
… is meeting my wonderful teachers: Mrs. Gratz, Mrs. Wuestefeld and Mr. Oldfield.
I couldn’t wait until I met my teachers. To be honest, I thought they were going to
be a little mean, but they were perfect, all of them.
Nathan Dooley
… is the 5th grade swimming trip. This is my favorite because I love swimming and
having fun with my friends.
Jack Bambauch
… is the Christmas party because we put panty hose on our heads. I also liked Jump
Rope for your Heart.
Jacob Hearn
....is from 4th grade when everyone made little pancakes with syrup and water. We
did this in Mrs. Criswell’s room.
Nathan Clark
… is having all the awesome teachers that I have had, which is all of them. I would
have never been where I am today without all of the teachers that I have had. I will
really miss our Springmyer families.
Lauren Murphy
… is the swim party. I chose this because I can show my friends the swim club I
belong to and it is a good way to end my last year at Springmyer.
Max Wilking
… is performing Goldilocks in kindergarten. I really enjoyed memorizing my lines and
watching the whole creative process as we prepared to perform for our parents.
This really opened up many more years of acting as I still enjoy it today. I had so
much fun rehearsing with my friends and putting costumes together.
Katelyn Evans
...is the people. Everyone I meet here is very kind and friendly. This applies to
teachers and students.
Nick Murray
… is the Christmas party where you had to dress your partner as a Christmas tree
and blow balloons up and put them in panty hose to use as antlers. My second
favorite Springmyer memory is the pool party where we get to jump off the diving
board right into the deep end of the pool. My third favorite Springmyer memory is
recess intramurals where you get to do all different kinds of sports like 4 square,
basketball, and football. All you had to do is sign up.
Kaitlyn Lippmeier
… is Encore when I was in 4th grade. Miss B ran it and it was so fun. My favorite part
was the singing.
Alissa Carlson
...is our 5th grade Christmas party. A challenge was given out to all of us. We had to
fill pantyhose with balloons to make the best reindeer horns. Then somebody had
to wear it. They all looked horrible, but funny and they kept falling down. It was
hilarious.
Carly Shiplett
...is getting to meet all the wonderful 5th grade teachers: Mrs. Gratz, Mrs.
Wuestefeld, and Mr. Oldfield. I was so happy to meet them, that I almost blew up. I
love my teachers so much. They are the bomb! (not really)
Aubrey Hoetker
… is the play for this year. I like to sing songs and dance. Its fun to speak in front of
everybody. I encourage you to sing and dance and so does Ms. Moyer.
Aiden Stanton
...is when I met my best friend, Makayla Campo. We have been friends ever since. We
met in the coat room in kindergarten and had no clue that our mom’s knew each
other. We said hi and instantly became friends.
Erin Kumler
...is when we found out that the 5th grade play would be Pirates. I was very excited to
find out what my character is. It is also fun to think about my costume.
Grace Neale
...is the mealworms. I liked this because we fed them and cared for them. We also kept
them.
Blaise Mumfrey
...is the crawfish. I got to hold a crawfish and study it. It was very fun.
Brody Posinski
… is SMASH because we get to help people that need help. SMASH also builds your
leadership and confidence. We keep a book of our projects we’ve done so we can
remember those memories that we had in SMASH forever.
Grace Kessler
...is all of our field trips and the ones we will still go on. Our trip to the Red’s Hall of
Fame is one I am really looking forward to. I love going to different places and having
fun experiences.
Kristan Coleman
...is picking up a crayfish. I was the first one to do it and it tickled like an ant’s pinch
would. That day I told my mom and I learned to try new things more often.
Josh Shockey
...is meeting new people. Before I came to school, my friend zone was empty. Now, at
Springmyer, it is close to full. But it could never be full.
Grace Smith
… is the Pirates Musical! I got picked to be Yellowbeard, which fits me perfectly
because I’m fun and upbeat just like Yellowbeard. I’m also cartoony!
Aidan Mancini
...is Enrichment Day in the third grade. This is my favorite because a turtle came and it
scared everyone when it peed.
Ellye Steinberg
...is the 5th grade Christmas party because I had the tallest gingerbread house!
Izac Tilbury
… is the pool party because it is like a goodbye party for us. We get to spend all day at
the pool and hang out with our friends. And we can do what we want to do. Then,
when we are done we go home.
Antonio Buccino
…are the field trips. There have been so many of them and they have all been exciting
and fun. My favorite was the trip to Parky’s Farm, and I am looking forward to more
like the pool party.

Hiking at Shawnee Lookout Park where
they leaned facts about the Ohio

First grade daisy’s made
Easter bags for St. Joseph
Orphange then colored eggs
and had an Easter egg hunt
of their own in the cafeteria.
SCOUTING FUN
The Hamilton County PTA meeting in April
where Springmyer Pack 44 led the flag
ceremony and pledge of allegiance.
Hiking at Glenwood Garden in April
The first grade daisies have had a very busy past couple of months. They
