A LETTER FROM
DOUG AND STEVE
Making Lives Better
At Amway, our purpose has always been to make lives
better for people all over the world. For more than 50
years, this purpose has been rooted in our values and
Founders’ Fundamentals. This is who we are. And these
ideas are what will continue to guide the decisions,
strategies, and direction of this business.
We help improve lives by motivating others to realize
their potential. This is most evident through our business
opportunity. It uniquely inspires and helps people all
over the world discover the courage, confidence, and
inspiration within to take the first steps toward changing
and improving their lives. Our Independent Business
Owners – each one of you – work hard to use this plan to
achieve success in a way only you can define. And it’s this
focus that grows your business. But at the same time, it
brings in others so they, too, can achieve success.
So as you work each day building your business, we hope
you’ll take to heart Amway’s true purpose. As new people
are brought into your groups, remember that success in
this business goes beyond pin qualifications and financial
rewards. Success is also tied to how well we help each
other realize the potential we have within to make our lives
and the lives of those around us better.

FAMILY LEGACY
JOHN and JENNIE BELLE CROWE
DAVE and KRISTIN DUSSAULT
JOHN CROWE III
CROWN | VIRGINIA
John and Jennie Belle Crowe have always counted
their blessings – and they have much to be thankful for,
including a hugely successful multigenerational family
business. But to really appreciate where they are today,
you need to know some history.
A truly miraculous recovery
John’s miraculous recovery is one of their greatest
blessings. His ordeal had been harrowing. Shot in the
head and left for dead, he managed to crawl under the
bed and get to a phone, which wasn’t plugged into the
right jack. Amazingly, while he lay there, unable to get
through to the police, the other phone rang. It was their
friend and fellow IBO, Jack Spencer. That call saved
John’s life.
When their son, John III, was born in 1980, he had
serious health issues. After being in intensive care for
four months and recovering from major surgery, he finally
came home to join the family, which included 3-year-old
sister Kristin.
Their fragile baby still needed round-the-clock care,
and after a few weeks, John and Jennie Belle were
exhausted. As Jennie Belle recalls, “My parents came,
and they took the kids and me to their place in North
Carolina so I could get some rest and John could get
some work done while we were gone.
“I had just fallen asleep when my dad got the phone call:
John had been shot in a robbery and I needed to get
home immediately. They didn’t think he’d make it through
the night.”
4
It’s no exaggeration to say that over the next several
months – years, really – their Amway™ business and their
faith were the lifelines that pulled them up, gave them
hope, and helped them heal. It started with the more
than 5,000 pints of blood people in many organizations
across Amway donated for John. “Our own organization
pulled together to help with everything from meals and
baby-sitting to carrying on with scheduled meetings,”
says Jennie Belle, adding that they’ll always be grateful
for the prayers and support they received throughout
John’s long recuperation.
Going to the well
“It’s terrifying to think what would have happened to
us financially without this business,” says John. “Our
medical expenses were astronomical, and there’s no
way either one of us could have worked at traditional
jobs under our circumstances.
“But we’ve always said, ‘You have to dig your well before
you need it,’ and thank God we had done that.”
They had just finished college when they first heard
about the Amway business. A co-worker of Jennie
Belle’s introduced them to the Amway business
opportunity, the one and only time anyone had ever
approached them about it. They looked at each other
and said, “What if this idea really works?”
“And then we just followed the ‘recipe’ that our upline
taught us – discipline, focusing on goals, being
persistent, and having a willingness to be mentored and
learn to grow,” explains John. “And it did work!”
They still marvel at the life it’s helped them achieve. “The
peace of mind is the best thing,” says John.
Just do it!
Jennie Belle says one of the biggest obstacles she sees
with people embarking on an Amway business is “just
getting started.” “You can stare at the pool all day long
or you can jump in,” adds John. “Don’t make this an
intellectual journey, just do it!”
John and Jennie Belle say one of the most important
things they did – and still do – is to “let leaders become
leaders. In other words,” says John, “don’t smother
them, but create an atmosphere in which they can
grow and do what they need to do. The sooner you
realize it’s not about you, it’s about other people –
their dreams and wants and needs – you’ll start to
experience growth.”
CROWN | CROWE FAMILY LEGACY
Another benefit? The fact that they were able to
continue operating and earning income from their
Amway™ business during John’s recovery. (They
qualified as Executive Diamonds a year before John
III was born, having left their traditional jobs behind
when they were in their twenties.)
What’s most satisfying to them is that not only did their
business thrive as they kept moving forward, it also
provided lifelong friends who became wonderful role
models for Kristin and John III, both of whom followed in
their parents’ footsteps and started their own successful
Amway businesses.
Positive approach to life has appeal
Growing up in the Crowe household, says Kristin,
was “amazing. My brother and I always say it was
like Camelot. Our parents were always so positive, so
upbeat and faith oriented. They
really led by example. They
never talked negatively about
anything, even behind closed
doors. Kids see and hear a
“One of the most important things we
did (for our kids) was let them struggle
on their own. Like a caterpillar that
emerges as a butterfly, you can’t open
up that cocoon and make it too easy for
them. Struggle is part of the victory.”

5
lot. And my brother and I thought the way we lived was
so awesome that we always knew we’d want to start our
own Amway™ businesses someday.”
When Kristin met Dave Dussault, she found her own
knight in shining armor to help her do it. Together, they
started their Amway business in March 2000. They went
Diamond in 2005 and Founders Diamond in 2006; they
qualified for North American Growth Council in 2011.
Kristin says one of the highlights of her life was going
to their first Diamond Club. “I had experienced it all
before as a child of Diamonds, but to go as an IBO with
all the hard work that’s behind it, and to rub shoulders
with the people who had been my heroes for so long –
it was very special.”
Dave smiles when he thinks back to how they first started
out. “I was cynical and wanted to do things my own way,”
he recalls. “But Kristin’s parents were such great mentors
that I finally decided to listen to what they had to say.”
In the meantime, John III started his Amway business.
Like Dave and Kristin, he, too, wanted to earn the
respect of those he respected, especially his parents,
by building it on his own. “There’s nothing I’d rather
be doing than teaching others about freedom and
free enterprise,” he says. And when he qualified
for Emerald in 2011, the entire team had a huge
celebration. “People don’t even know how much
John has overcome,” says Jennie Belle, referring
to her son’s health challenges, which continued
beyond infancy. “He has become a great leader.
Everybody respects and loves him so much.”
“It’s really important for second-generation IBOs
to build their own businesses and create their own
identities. The best thing John and Jennie Belle did for
us was to just set an example of what great leadership
is all about.”

“I always knew I wanted an
Amway™ business, but I wasn’t
sure I had what it took.
I went through a lot of
personal growth to earn
the respect of those I
respected. And as close
as we’ve always been
as a family, we’ve grown
even closer by growing the
business together.”

CREATING THE FAMILY LEGACY:
LESSONS LEARNED
With three thriving businesses, the next step was logical: integrate them. And thanks to a formal succession planning
process with Amway, they were able to do that. Today, they have a family legacy that can passed down to future
generations, including the Dussaults’ four children. (John III isn’t married yet.)
That legacy started years ago as Kristin and John III were growing up, and they saw what their parents had achieved
through hard work, a positive attitude, and staying focused. In fact, Kristin, John III, and son-in-law Dave are all quick
to share the many lessons they learned from John and Jennie Belle, and what was most valuable to them in terms of
building their own businesses:
ƒ
“Rather than push us, they created more of a pull. They’d
say, ‘If you want to experience this kind of lifestyle, you
know what you need to do to get it.’”
ƒ
“They were fantastic role models; always positive and
upbeat. Even with all of the health challenges, there was
never any ‘woe is me’ talk. Even in private, they were
always cheerleaders for each other, uplifting one another
and emphasizing each other’s strengths.”
ƒ
“They taught us at an early age how to set goals and how
to work hard to achieve them.”
ƒ
“My parents cut us off when we reached 18! No more trips
or rewards until we earned them ourselves – they’d actually
send us postcards from places, which drove us crazy!”
ƒ
“They showed us what a great marriage is all about and
how working together as entrepreneurs, serving others in
an environment of excellence, can create financial security
and peace of mind.”
ƒ
“They let us ‘fail forward.’ When we stumbled in our
businesses, they didn’t come running to pick us up; they let
us learn by our mistakes. We started at zero PV, just like
everybody else.”
ƒ
“They taught us that the key to success is personal
growth and never letting leadership get stale. You have
to constantly be moving forward, building relationships
with people and developing new leaders. They are still
passionately involved in the business.”
ƒ
“They are consistent leaders, completely transparent,
the same at home as they are on stage. They do not
compromise on principles and they stand by their word.”
As for the references about cutting the kids off when
they reached college age, “That was dad, not me!”
laughs Jennie Belle, noting that the kids didn’t exactly
go hungry. But as John explains, he was just following
the advice of one of his mentors. “I asked Dexter Yager
his philosophy on raising kids (they have seven) and he
answered, ‘It’s simple: don’t spoil them!’”
The average monthly Gross Income for “active” IBOs in the U.S. was $198.
Approximately 48% of IBOs in Canada were “active.” IBOs were considered “active” in
months in 2010 when they attempted to make a retail sale, or presented the Amway IBO
Compensation Plan, or received bonus money, or attended an Amway or IBO meeting. If
someone sustained that level of activity every month for a whole year, their annualized
Gross Income would be $2,376. Of course, not every IBO chooses to be active every
month. “Gross Income” means the amount received from retail sales, minus the cost of
goods sold, plus monthly bonuses and cash incentives. It excludes all annual bonuses
8
and cash incentives, and all non-cash awards, which may be significant. There may also
be significant business expenses, mostly discretionary, that may be greater in relation to
income in the first years of operation. For the purposes of this calculation, individuals who
were IBOs for less than the entire year in 2010 were excluded.
Before registering as an Independent Business Owner (IBO) powered by Amway, you should
read and understand the Amway Business Opportunity Brochure, which contains important
information for those interested in becoming IBOs.
CROWN | CROWE FAMILY LEGACY
Living humbly
Clearly, the Crowes followed that advice, and they
are very proud of their children’s humility – and their
success. “We always tried to live humbly and keep
everything down to earth,” says Jennie Belle. “When we
were going through the hard times after John’s injury,
we realized you can be miserable and make everybody
else miserable, or you can be a shining light and bring
joy to the world. I learned along the way, too, that there’s
always someone who’s worse off than you.”
Their positive attitude continues to serve them well. For
example, John was an outstanding athlete before the
shooting, which left him partially paralyzed. But he didn’t
let that stop him from participating in outdoor activities.
He loves to be on and in the water – jet skiing, fishing,
and swimming. And when Jennie Belle goes for a run,
he’ll ride alongside her on his three-wheel bike.
The family also believes strongly that they are
“blessed to be a blessing” and, like many of their
downline organizations, are involved in all kinds of
philanthropic work, supporting causes both locally
and globally, especially those that focus on the needs
of families and children.
Helping Wounded Warriors
Perhaps most dear to their
hearts is the work the family
is doing through the Ripple
Effect, a nonprofit organization.
Last spring, Ripple Effect held
its first-ever Wounded Warrior
golf tournament to raise funds
for the Wounded Warrior Project, which helps soldiers
injured in conflict adapt and succeed as they return to
civilian life. “They are the real heroes,” says Dave.
as they jokingly
refer to it. Dave’s
dad and his wife
now live in a new home
there, too. The grandkids –
Maximus, Tristan, Audriana,
and Harper – all under six years
old – love having both sets of
grandparents so close by.
As for whether the next generation
of Dussaults and Crowes decides to
keep building on the family legacy,
Dave and Kristin say they’re doing just
what John and Jennie Belle did – or rather,
didn’t do. “When our kids get older, we’re not
going to push them to become third-generation
business owners,” says Dave. “What we are doing is
inspiring them to become great leaders, to stand by their
principles, and to understand how this business works.
Because at the end of the day, we want their hearts to
be in it and we want them to be passionate about what
they do. We strive daily to set a good example for them.”
Considering who David, Kristin, and John III all learned
from, they have a proven formula.
“Our business has always been about family,”
summarizes John. “It’s like I say to the kids, ‘When you
build your business, you’re also building our business,
which may one day be your business!’”
And that’s what having a family legacy is all about.
Family close by
The Crowes and Dussaults have homes near one
another on a 26-acre property, the “family compound,”

THREE SIMPLE WORDS
SANDY SPIELMAKER, BUSINESS MEETING, ACHIEVERS 2012
Three simple words that carry so much meaning. Our forefathers
didn’t try to create a perfect world or an ideal society. They wanted
to give us – we, the people – the opportunity to build that society.
They didn’t write that we have a right to happiness. They wrote that we
have the right to pursue happiness.
It wasn’t about GIVING us everything we wanted. It was about securing for
us the freedom and opportunity to GO OUT AND GET IT.
“We the People” was never meant to be a finished product or a complete idea.
It’s a generational work of art that we are improving … perfecting … perpetuating
every single day.
“We the People” could have been written for and about each one of you.
Freedom. Family. Hope. Reward. When Rich DeVos and Jay Van Andel created
this company and identified the values Amway would represent, they could have
very well been carrying out the vision of Washington, of Franklin, of Jefferson,
of Madison.
These go to the heart of what “We the People” is all about. We’re using these
values to write the story of our own lives, to build a better future for the people
we love, to create a more perfect union.
If we were to create our own “IBO Declaration of Excellence” – an “IBO Bill of Rights,”
one might say – what messages would we want to send, in our own modern-day version
of “We the People?”
We dedicate ourselves to these principles …

Acting on that belief, Amway and its Independent Business

Reaching Emerald is a significant achievement, the result of
sustained effort and successful leadership. As Emeralds, IBOs have
demonstrated their ability to sell, recruit, train, motivate, and teach
others to do the same. They have built healthy organizations and are
reaping the rewards of their hard work.
Ángel and María Aguado | California
Living the dream: “I was always working extra hours just to pay the bills,” says
Ángel. Now, thanks to their Amway™ business, the bills are paid, “we enjoy having
and doing things we couldn’t afford before, and we get to choose how we spend
our time,” he says. “I can visit my mom in Mexico and not worry about the boss
getting mad – because there is no boss!”
Looking to the future: Ángel and María are looking forward to showing their kids
– María Janet, 19; Alexis, 15; and Ángel, Jr., 10 – the world. “I would love to see
Paris and London,” María says. “I also want to give my parents (who live with them)
the best.” Most importantly, Ángel adds, “We want to be an example to downline
IBOs and help them achieve their dreams.”
Elier and Marta Luisa Aguiar | Florida
Living the dream: “We came here (from Cuba) with dreams of prosperity, but
neither of us could find work in our fields without repeating our educations.” So
Elier became a construction-equipment mechanic and opened his own shop. “It
was exhausting work,” he says. Marta Luisa found work as a medical assistant
and phlebotomist, and returned to school. Now both are fully engaged in building
their Amway business. “We’ve discovered a vocation for life,” she says.
Looking to the future: Making time to spend with their family is most important
to the Aguiars, who recently became grandparents for the first time. “We dream of
having our entire family reunited,” Elier says. “We also want to spend quality time
in beautiful places around the world. And we want to inspire others to achieve
great things in this business!”
Yolanda and Leoncio Croes | Aruba
Living the dream: “I feel so different!” Leoncio says of the last few years. After
losing his job with Aruba’s Tourism Authority in early 2011, he and Yolanda
refocused on their Amway business and took it to the next level: Emerald. “I know
where I’m going now,” he says. “We’re growing and learning every day, and being
blessed by the fundamentals of family, reward, freedom, and hope.”
Looking to the future: “Our vision is to reach Double Diamond in the next five
years and leave a legacy to our children and grandchildren (Leony, 21; Leyon,
18; Loney, 17; and A.J., 4). The two oldest are IBOs, and the youngest can’t wait
(to be one)!” Leoncio says. “We’re also excited to finally formalize our Live Your
Dream Foundation, which serves underprivileged families on Aruba and Curacao,”
Yolanda adds.

Living the dream: “I’m going to be 34 and financially independent this year,” says
Warren, who manages the family’s automotive repair business. “I will have replaced
my income, thanks to our Amway™ business. And it’s only going to get better!” He
and his wife, Vanessa, love that they have more control over their time now and
a stable home life for their boys, Tyler (7) and Dylan (4). “Having that peace in our
home is everything!” says Vanessa.
Looking to the future: While travel, a bigger home, and private schooling are on
their radar, Warren and Vanessa are most excited about “going out and making
a major difference in people’s lives,” he says. “We’ve had an incredible example
of mentorship,” she adds, “and we want to pass it on. This business makes you
want to be a better person. We’ve grown so close through this business.”

to see it was possible,” says Prakash, an IT manager. “I have the luxury of setting

both 12),” she replies.
Looking to the future: The family loves “being active, especially outdoors, and
learning new things,” he shares. “Last year we took up martial arts and I play

have contributed to good health and well-being. “I love learning and sharing about
nutrition,” she says, “because I’ve seen how it’s benefitted my life.”
Looking to the future: “Only Amway gives me time to look after both my family
here (husband Jingtao and daughter Enn, 6) and in China,” she says. “I want to be
with my mom, who’s 80, as much as I can, so I spend two months in China every
year. I could’ve never done that working in accounting!” Zhao’s next goals are “to
be Diamond within three years and help six downlines reach Platinum.”
Adam Marks | New York
Living the dream: At just 17, Adam realized that “the Amway business was the
complete package: It offered incredible income potential, plus the time to enjoy
it.” The son of a successful businessman, he says, “I knew the headaches of
traditional business and the sacrifice of time it required. I’m happy that my Amway
business is at a point where I can enjoy the unparalleled lifestyle it provides.”
Looking to the future: “In five years, I see myself in my dream house, married,
and with a family,” Adam says. “I love boxing, so I will probably pursue it for fun,
maybe even own a private gym. I’ve seen too much success in this business to
choose to live a second-rate life.”
The average monthly Gross Income for “active” IBOs in the U.S. as $202 in 2010.
Approximately 46% of all IBOs in the U.S. were “active.”

Plinio and Triana Mejía | Dominican Republic
Living the dream: “I wasn’t much of a dreamer before starting our Amway™
business,” says Plinio. “But our sponsors made us part of their dreams and taught
us the importance of visualizing what we really wanted. Now we have images
plastered all over the house!” Triana, a pharmaceutical rep, has been home full
time since their second child was born. Plinio looks forward to joining her when he
retires from the Army at the end of this year.
Looking to the future: “Our kids (Derianh, 12; Camila, 4; and José Sebastián,
10 months) just love the adventure of travel, so we definitely see ourselves doing
more of that,” says Triana. “We’re eager to give them every opportunity,” including
the best camps and universities, Plinio adds. “We know we can help a lot of
people from other countries with this business.”
Luisa and César Mateo | Dominican Republic
Living the dream: “Our life was full of obligations that come with a traditional
business,” says César, former owner of an auto parts store. Today he and
Luisa have time to vacation together – “at the same time!” she adds – and
enjoy their grandsons. The best part about leaving the rat race behind? “Being
able to help others,” he says. “Amway is the school of life, where you learn to
live truly and effectively.”
Looking to the future: “I see myself accomplishing my life’s purpose in the
next five years,” Luisa says. “I want to establish several activity centers around
the island to help kids who have nothing.” Adds César, “I want to become an
extension of God’s hand and bring joy to my people and the world. There’s no
time to lose!”
Steve Mazzurco | New York
Living the dream: “I wanted my upline’s lifestyle,” says Steve, who started his
Amway business in college. “If professional baseball didn’t work out (Steve played
in the minors for two years), I knew my business could give me more than a career
as a stockbroker could.” Today he enjoys having time to golf, hit the gym, and take
his new sports car on the open road.
Looking to the future: “It’s never been about me changing pin levels. It’s about
helping as many people as possible, who share this journey with me, to achieve
their dreams and goals. That’s what pumps me up!” People are the heart of the
Amway business, he believes. “My life is blessed with great mentors who have
helped me feel fulfilled and in control of my destiny.”

RECOGNITION | EMERALD
Juanita and Vicente Navarro | Washington
Living the dream: “We started our Amway™ business for the potential money,”
Juanita admits, “but now we’re building it to leave a better legacy for our family and
to help other families succeed in this country.” Vicente adds, “We also appreciate
having more time to spend together and with our kids,” (Francisco, 19 and an IBO;
Vincent, 13; Emily, 7; and Victoria, 1). Knowing they can pay for college and travels
brings “more peace of mind,” she says.
Looking to the future: “We’re planning a week in Hawaii with our kids this
summer,” Juanita continues. “We’d also like to spend more time on the beaches
of Florida, which remind us of where we grew up in Mexico. Money was scarce
in our childhood and now that we have a better lifestyle, our first goal is to have
our own house.”
Alondra and Rubén Osorio | Texas
Living the dream: From working 10- to 12-hour days and “barely having time
to see each other, let alone start a family,” to working together to “take hope to
others for a better life,” the Osorios’ life has changed dramatically, thanks to their
Amway business. They have time for personal interests like exercise and travel, and
enjoying parenthood. Their daughter, Rubi, 4, is the joy of their life.
Looking to the future: “We want our family to keep growing,” says Alondra, who
loves no longer having to set an alarm for 4 a.m. Rubén is studying to become a
personal trainer and would also like to earn a degree in automotive repair “because
I love cars, especially taking them apart and putting them back together!” His
dream is to run part of the Great Wall of China.
Damaris Patrocinio | Dominican Republic
Living the dream: Damaris “saw a big difference between an Amway business
and a traditional business. There’s minimal investment and a lot of possibilities.
And what I saw then was only the tip of the iceberg!” Having owned two traditional
businesses before – and going bankrupt – Damaris was ready for a new start.
Today, “Money is no longer an issue,” she says.
Looking to the future: Damaris is excited her children, Maria del Genesis,
21, and Rafael Ernesto, 14, have embraced Amway. “My vision is to expand my
missionary work. There are a lot of women who’ve lost hope because they don’t
have anyone telling them, ‘You can do it!’ I want to be that person.” Damaris is also
starting a foundation for children with cancer who can’t afford care.
The average monthly Gross Income for “active” IBOs in the U.S. as $202 in 2010.
Approximately 46% of all IBOs in the U.S. were “active.”
55
Nieves Botello and Manuel Rufino | California
Living the dream: Manuel and Nieves were at the point of separating when they
learned about the Amway™ business opportunity. “We worked six days a week
picking berries and didn’t even have the same day off,” she says. “Thanks to this
business, we found time together to dream of a better future for our family (Angélica,
19, and José, 15). Now we can help our moms, travel, and just enjoy our kids.”
Looking to the future: Nieves is eager to learn English “now that we have the time.
But more than anything, we want to continue helping others see the potential of this
opportunity.” Manuel adds, “Sometimes we think about moving, but people keep
popping up!” As fellow field hands take note of their success, Manuel and Nieves
realize the fields are ripe for the picking.
Hugo and Angélica Vargas | California
Living the dream: “People ask, ‘Were you always this cool?’ I say, ‘No. I used
to have a job, too,’” deadpans Hugo, who has overcame his anxiety attacks
since starting their Amway business. He and Angélica owned several traditional
businesses over the years that took their toll on mind, body, and finances. “The
beauty of Amway is now we’re able to help others live more productive, more
meaningful lives,” he says.
Looking to the future: The Vargases recently remodeled their home, which they
saved in the 11th hour from foreclosure. Still, Angélica dreams of “someday having a
bigger, pretty house for my family,” (Tanya, 19; Diana, 18; Leslie, 13; and Priscilla, 10).
“We hope our story helps others believe they can do this, too,” Hugo says.
Shirley Wong | New York
Living the dream: Shirley, looking to improve her life, started by using
®
NUTRILITE products. “I was happier and healthier, and began sharing the
products with others. They, in turn, experienced similar results. I felt more confident
as my financial situation improved, thanks to my Amway business. The free time
I’ve gained is great as well!” says the former owner of a cell phone store.
Looking to the future: “Even though you are an Independent Business Owner,
you are not doing this business alone,” she says. “That’s the beauty of Amway: You
don’t have to deal with the challenges all by yourself.” Besides feeling fortunate
for the support from her team, Shirley’s excited to travel more, especially to India,
where she’s sponsoring two children (through a child-advocacy ministry) she
hopes to meet one day.

IBOAI
GET ACQUAINTED WITH THE
YOUR ADVOCACY ORGANIZATION
The Independent Business Owners Association
International® (IBOAI) is the advocacy organization for
IBOs in North America. The IBOAI Board works diligently
with the Corporation at events, in meetings, on the
phone, and online throughout the year as the powerful
advocate for your business.
Are you aware of how this association got its start?
The IBOAI has a rich history of over 50 years committed
to “preserving the past, enriching the present, and
inspiring hope for the future of the business.” It also has
the honor of being one of the largest small business
trade associations in the world!
Meet Your 2013 IBOAI Board:
The Organization’s Driving Force
In January, the new 2013 IBOAI Board met in Grand
Rapids, Michigan, with the purpose of welcoming
the newly elected members to the Board. Five new
members – Theo Galan, Pedro Lizardi, Juanita
Maldonado, Vinny Pappalardo, and Steve Yager –
took the oath of office and promised to serve with
honor, integrity, and principle. And, as Rich DeVos
advised the IBOAI Board in 1991, to “never lose the
spirit of the business!”
Your IBOAI Board, elected by qualified Platinums and
above, governs the official activities of the association
and acts in the best interest of all Amway IBOs. Currently,
21 IBO leaders serve on IBOAI Board committees,
along with two members of the Governance & Oversight
Committee. The association’s No. 1 goal when it began
in 1959 as the American Way Association continues
to be its main priority today: Fairly represent
all North American IBOs, regardless of
Line of Affiliation (LOA) or position in the
Line of Sponsorship (LOS).
