In his previous columns, in an effort to alert readers to the magnitude of the problem and reverse the downfall of our vital casinos
in Atlantic City, the “Wiz” lamented the loss of jobs and the adverse
impact on almost every segment of our community including “collateral damage” suffered by otherwise profitable businesses. Another
shoe has dropped with reports that the power utility serving Revel
got “stiffed” for millions of dollars. It is not fair for the employees
who work there or the investors who provided funds for a plant to
power Revel.
There is an old, but accurate, saying that “it is better to light a candle
than to curse the darkness.” In that light, and in the considered
judgment of the “Wiz,” there is a key person who can help turn
this dreadful situation around, in a hurry. Some years ago, casino
guru Steve Wynn, retreated to Las Vegas after being thwarted from
expanding his iconic Golden Nugget Casino Hotel in A. C. He,
singlehandedly, reversed the decline of the Vegas Strip with his magnificent Mirage property, with a volcano on its front lawn. Later came
his exciting Treasure Island property with realistic pirate ship battles
in a “lake” on his other front lawn. This was followed up with the
Bellagio which had a large lake and fantastic water show on the “four
corners” of casino gaming along the “Strip”. The “Wynn” Casino and
Encore were fantastic creations of the most creative and successful
man gaming has ever seen. Net result: “Vegas’ gain, our loss!”
The “Wiz” respectfully proposes a very strong campaign to have
Steve Wynn return to Atlantic City ASAP, before more harm is done
to our community. Alongside this column you will find a petition
requesting his return to take over one of the shuttered casinos and
send a message to Wall Street that we are still alive and kicking. Get
involved. If we raise 100,000 petition signatures he, and the politicos, would likely to hear us and save what is left of our vital industry.
How could a good guy such as Steve ignore our pleas? Do it. Have
Steve come back!

(2011). Norm Crosby was born on September 15, 1927 in Boston, Massachusetts,
USA. He is an actor and writer, known for The Comedy Shop (1978), Tom Jones: In
Concert (1971) and Eight Crazy Nights (2002). Sal Richards is an actor/comedian.
With this career came critical acclaim and many significant honors, including being
voted the “Entertainment Industry’s Hot Comic” by the prestigious New York Friars
Club and “Entertainer Of The Year in Atlantic City”. The New York Daily News calls Sal

9/26 - Boardwalk Hall - Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull: Pop and
Latin superstars Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull will team up in concert for one night only
in Atlantic City at Boardwalk Hall on Friday, September 26. The tour will boast this
year’s three top Latin artists featuring numerous No. 1 hits as fast-rising star J Balvin
will also join them as a support act.
9/27 - Tropicana - Wynonna and The Big Noise: Wynonna Judd is
an American country music singer. Her solo albums and singles are all credited to
the singular name Wynonna. Wynonna first rose to fame in the 1980s alongside her
mother, Naomi, in the country music duo The Judds. The duo released seven albums
on Curb Records in addition to charting 26 singles, of which 14 were number one hits.
After The Judds disbanded in 1991, Wynonna began a solo career, also on Curb. In
her solo career, she has released eight studio albums, a live album, a holiday album
and two compilation albums in addition to charting more than 20 singles of her own.
Her first four singles—”She Is His Only Need”, “I Saw the Light,” “No One Else on
Earth” and “My Strongest Weakness”—all reached number one on the U.S. country
singles charts consecutively, as did 1993’s “Only Love” and 1996’s, “To Be Loved
by You.” Three of her albums are certified platinum or higher by the RIAA. Her most
recent recording, Sing: Chapter 1, was released on February 3, 2009 and she released
a new song, “Something You Can’t Live Without,” in March 2013. Wynonna is most
recognized for her musical work, although starting in the 2000s she has also pursued
other interests, including writing, acting and philanthropy.
9/27 - Trump Taj Mahal - Jo Dee Messina: With its title ME chosen by
fans, Jo Dee’s newest album – released March 18, 2014 – marks her most personal
album to date. Jo Dee wrote, or co-wrote, many of the songs on the album and will
release ME on her own newly established label, Dreambound Records. For the first
time in her career, Jo Dee is able to boldly do things her own way and pave her own
path to success. Spring 2013 found the fiercely independent, outspoken, and driven
artist free from a long-term record deal. Jo Dee became free to make the album she

band, originally formed in 1976 by veteran English musician Mick Jones and fellow

Elliott were English, while Gramm, Al Greenwood and Ed Gagliardi were American.
Their biggest hit single, “I Want to Know What Love Is”, topped the UK and US
Charts among others. They are one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time with
worldwide sales of more than 80 million records, including 37.5 million albums in
the United States alone.

and nine Top 40 hits as a solo artist. As a member of The Four Seasons, Valli’s
number-one hits included “Sherry” (1962), “Big Girls Don’t Cry” (1962), “Walk Like
a Man” (1963), “Rag Doll” (1964) and “December 1963 (Oh, What A Night)” (1975).
Valli’s recording of the song “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” reached number two in
1967. Valli, Tommy DeVito, Nick Massi and Bob Gaudio – the original members of
The Four Seasons – were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and
the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999.

might expect an entertainment and business mogul to take a break – or at the very
least a quick breather – after a career that has produced over 56 million in worldwide album sales; 64 Top 10 hits; the #1 TV sitcom for 6 consecutive years on TWO
networks; successful Clothing, Footwear and Home Collections; as well as a stint

10/24 - Borgata - Motley Crue: Mötley Crüe is an American heavy metal band
formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1981. The group was founded by bassist Nikki
Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee, who were later joined by guitarist Mick Mars, and
vocalist Vince Neil. Mötley Crüe has been described through the years as one of the
world’s best-selling groups of all time, having
sold more than 80 million records, including
25 million in the U.S. The members of the band
have often been noted for their hedonistic
lifestyles and the persona they maintained.
Various original members have had numerous
brushes with the law, spent time in prison,
suffered from alcoholism, suffered from long
addictions to drugs such as cocaine and heroin,
had countless escapades with women and are
heavily tattooed. The band is considered as a
part of the first wave of glam metal. Their ninth
and most recent studio album, Saints of Los
Angeles, was released on June 24, 2008, and
was certified Gold in January 2012. The band
is currently embarking on a final tour that will
continue through 2015 before retiring.
11/7 - Caesars - Ian Anderson: Ian
Anderson recently won The Prog God Award from Prog Magazine, celebrating the
innovators of rock who have inspired generations and carved a way for others to be
at their creative best. There is no one who has pushed the boundaries more than
Ian Anderson, who to this day remains immersed in his love for the music. Fronting
seminal Prog outfit Jethro Tull and performing simply under his own name, Ian
Anderson has performed in more than 54 countries over 45 years; he is widely considered an icon of the genre and is recognised as the protagonist of the flute in rock
music. With over 60 million albums sold in its career, Tull has been characterised
by Anderson’s trademark acoustic textures created with ethnic flutes and whistles
together with acoustic guitar and the mandolin family of instruments. In many recent
shows, Anderson has played with orchestras, string quartets and featured soloists.
His eclectic acoustic performances are also a hit with fans of the progressive genre.

If you enjoy dancing or just listening to great music,
then have I got an event for you! Elizabeth Gorman, one
of our long-time readers, who enjoys this column, advises
us about a note-worthy event. The Single Parents Society
Shore Chapter presents a note-worthy weekly Dance Social
each Tuesday at 8PM til 10:30PM at the Social Hall of the
Somers Point Fire House Co. #1 located on Bethel Road in
Somers Point, NJ. Refreshments will be served. Live music
will be provided. The group has been meeting in Somers
Point for over 30 years. A different musical entertainer or
musical group has performed each week.
The month of September Dance Socials concludes
September 30, 2014 with the music of Kevin Kelton. The
cost of the event is $8 for members and $10 for nonmembers. The event is open to all ages. The public is
invited to attend. There will be some line dances and a

FISHING REPORT
The final week of flounder season spurred David London of Margate to brave questionable inshore conditions yielding a big catch with big fish, a six and a half
pounder among the mix He will be traveling on business
for the next few weeks returning just in time for striped
bass fishing to heat up. His fishing partners, brother
Steve and buddy Gabe Howard will be well rested and
ready for his return! The Margate Bay remains productive. Kevin Golden Sr. and son Kevin Jr. have made the
trek from Delaware four weeks in a row just to catch the
abundance and variety. This week yielded keeper flounder and good sized blues. They have traveled back home
every week with dinner in the cooler. Many have caught
and released keeper sized (12.5 inch) sea bass and are
awaiting the re-opening of the season on October 18th.
Bay sea bass that size, a rarity in years past, were common among the flounder catches this year. The Atlantic
County/Atlantic City Surf Derby starts on Monday, Sept.
22, 2014 with the Absecon Island beaches being shared
with sunbathers, dog walkers, and four wheel drive vehicles! Fall has truly arrived, the best time at the shore.
