Deputy Chairman/
Group Managing Director's message
Dear fellow Bousteadians,
We are pleased to kick off 2016 having
successfully weathered through a
challenging year. Due to our resilience,
we were able to achieve a satisfactory
performance for the 2015 financial
year, with a profit before tax in excess
of a quarter of a billion, on the back of
a revenue of RM8.7 billion.
Our business units continued to
push forward, with most registering
sustained results. The Property
Division was a strong contributor
to the Group in 2015, with a profit
of RM139 million, followed by the
Pharmaceutical Division which posted
a profit of RM90 million.
In order to unlock further potential
for the Group, we aim to position our
Pharmaceutical Division as an export
hub within the ASEAN region by
building up our Indonesian operations.
For our Plantation Division, we are
actively seeking opportunities to grow
our portfolio in terms of viable land
bank. Concurrently, we expect to see
a profit of RM120 million from the
disposal of non-core land bank.
Despite tough market conditions, we are
more determined than ever to tighten
operational efficiencies and strengthen
areas for improvement. We will build on
our solid foundation to take challenges
in our stride and work towards realising
our long-term growth plans.
Indeed, 2016 has much in store for us
to look forward to. We are also focused
on strengthening our balance sheet.
The rights issue is expected to raise
over RM1 billion once completed, which
will provide us with improved financial
flexibility and enhanced liquidity. It will
also enable us to pursue opportunities
for inorganic growth. In tandem with this,
our bonus issue will allow us to reward
our loyal shareholders.
Over the years, even in the face of
adversity, Boustead Holding Berhad has
evolved. It is imperative that we recognise
challenges as opportunities for growth.
With continuous effort and dedication
from all Bousteadians, together we will
be able to persevere through difficult
times and achieve our objectives, insyaAllah.
Thank you.

PhIS provides improved pharmacy
system for patients
I
n line with its corporate philosophy, Passion for Patients,
Pharmaniaga Berhad’s Pharmacy Information System (PhIS)
was designed to assist the Ministry of Health (MOH) with
inventory management, whilst also providing patients with the
convenience of specifying their preferred location for collection
of medicines. PhIS also supports MOH in tracking the supply
and demand of products at pharmacies in hospitals and clinics.
PhIS was launched by Health Minister, YB Datuk Seri Dr.
S. Subramaniam, at Muar Hospital on 28 February 2016. The
system was developed to encourage the use of Information
Technology in the health service system, involving tender
management system and medicine and non-medical supply in
all the Ministry's facilities.
"This system will help monitor medical supply in the
Ministry's facilities, increase efficiency, facilitate medical
and non-medical inventory management and ensure that
the medicine used is of good quality, safe and effective,"
said Datuk Seri Subramaniam.
He also noted that an efficient system is needed to
cope with the growing number of patients and medical
prescription dispensary, which increases about 4% on a
yearly basis.
PhIS launched by the Health Minister
Pharmaniaga is confident that PhIS will assist in improving
patient safety as it eliminates medication prescription
errors, by performing validation crosschecks against
established drug databases to mitigate risks of interactions
and allergies to drug prescriptions.

Dash Tabuan Racing Team!
B
HPetrol is delighted to announce their latest venture
in national motorsports by establishing the BHPetrol
Dash Tabuan Racing Team, which is ready to make its
debut in the National Cub Prix Championship when the
new season commences in March.
"In order to form a strong team, BHPetrol established
a strategic partnership with a motorcycle club, Tabuan
Racing. We know what we are up against and we are
ready for the challenge in this year's National Cub Prix
Championship racing series," said Ir. Azizul Azily Ahmad,
BHPetrol’s Commercial Industry and Lubricants Business
General Manager, in a formal launch ceremony to introduce
the team at Northport Installation Terminal, Port Klang on 23
February 2016.
"I believe we are poised to have a successful 2016 season
with both riders under our tent. They have proven to be top
contenders and I expect nothing but the best from them," said
Dato' Zolkapli, referring to both of his riders, Siti Norafizah
and her teammate Izzat Rafiq.
Siti Norafizah, fondly known as Fifie, is the only female rider
who has achieved success over the last five years in the
racing arena. The 21-year old Johorean rider brings with her
an impressive resume, which includes MSS Overall Champion
2014 and MSC Overall Champion 2015 for the 250cc Open
category. Fifie also won the Pro Am 2015 - a race reserved for
private teams.
Introducing the riders of BHPetrol Tabuan Racing Team
"This collaboration is in line with our objective to enhance
the image of BHPetrol to the end-user, from owners of
motorcycles to high-powered machines," commented
Ir. Azizul, replying to a question about the participation of
BHPetrol in motorsports.
"While BHPetrol’s involvement in this racing series aims to
promote our motorcycle lubricant, BHPetrol Dash, we also
strive to create a platform
which allows local talents to
thrive in the motorcycle racing
arena. Cub Prix is a wellknown sport among small
engine motorcycles, which
are popular among young
Malaysians. A total of 10
rounds will take place at the
Malaysia Agro Exposition Park
Serdang circuit," he added.
BHPetrol Dash Tabuan Racing
Team advisor, YBhg. Dato’
Zolkapli Sulong, said that
despite being a new racing
team, they were represented
by two young experienced
riders. He also added that the
BHPetrol Dash Tabuan Racing
Team deserved respect from
competitors.
Meanwhile Izzat Rafiq, an 18-year old rider, previously
competed in the Wira class competition for two seasons.
Securing fifth place overall last season, Izzat won second place
at the podium finish. The young rider from Cheras, Selangor,
started racing in a competition category for a producer from
2012 to 2013, and in 2014, he was selected by an elite team to
compete in the Wira category.
For the Wira category this 2016 season, BHPetrol Dash Tabuan
Racing Team will be represented by a talented 16-year old
rider, Muhamad Arash Firdaus. Arash, a student from Sekolah

Great vacation destination tips by Boustead Travel

Mount Rigi
M
ount Rigi (also known as Queen
of the Mountains) is a mountain
ridge of the Alps, located in central
Switzerland. The whole ridge is
almost entirely surrounded by the
water of three different water bodies:
Lake Lucerne, Lake Zug and Lake
Lauerz. The range is in the Schwyzer
Alps, and is split between the regions
of Schwyz and Lucerne, although the
main summit, named Rigi Kulm, at
1,798 m above sea level, lies within
the region of Schwyz.
Over 200 years ago, scientists hiked
from the border of Lake Lucerne up
Mount Rigi in order to observe and
study the fascinating Swiss Alps.
Famous painters and poets followed,
and featured Mount Rigi and its
spectacular views overlooking Lake
Lucerne and the snow-covered
Swiss Alps in their works of art.
With an increasing number of hikers
climbing Mount Rigi, the first Swiss
mountain hotel on Rigi Kulm opened
in 1816. In 1871, after a construction
phase of almost two years, Europe’s
kept authentic Swiss beauty to enjoy the
relaxing and cozy atmosphere at the top
of Mount Rigi.

a steam engine. Even today, the majestic
steam locomotives are still in use for
special occasions or on fixed dates during
high tourist seasons in summer and
winter.
Two hundred years after the first Swiss
mountain hotel opened its doors, Mount
Rigi Railways had its best year ever and
attracted over 785,000 visitors in 2015.

Besides a network of hiking trails totalling
over 120 km, another highlight on Mount
Rigi is the cable car dinner experience,
available in the summer season. During
the two-hour journey in the evening,
guests can enjoy a delicious threecourse dinner with an amazing view of
the sunset and lights surrounding Lake
Lucerne. Mount Rigi is the only mountain
in central Switzerland which is included
in the Swiss Travel Pass throughout the
year.
