Hilde Heijnen
born June 1965

As an actress, Hilde is the ultimate combination of
professionalism and emotionality, with a great love for her
profession and an open mind to what is happening in the
world.
In 2014 Hilde works together with director Tom Shankland,
and actors James Nesbitt and Tcheky Karyo for a new original
limited drama series “The missing” from writers Harry and
Jack Williams. Hilde plays the part of Vivienne. The BBC,
in partnership with Starz, is co-producer. “The missing” is
produced by New Pictures and Company Pictures in association
with Two Brothers and Playground. It will air on BBC One in
the UK and STARZ in the U.S in the fall of 2014.
She played leading roles in over 40 plays, from - among
others - Shakespeare, Garcia Lorca, Strindberg, T.Williams,
Srbljanovics and Tom Lanoy. She started her film career with
a leading role internationally, alongside Catherine Deneuve
and Denis Lavant in “La partie d’echecs”, and later on in
“Olivetti 82” alongside Dirk Roofthooft.
Hilde played the part of “the Grand Actress” in “Parade’s End”, a new tvseries for
HBO/BBC2 directed by Susanna White (Nanny Mc Phee, Jane Eyre…) and adapted by Sir Tom
Stoppard (release 2013).
She played great roles in tvseries such as Sonja in Deadline” (directed by Maarten
Moerkerken), Gina in “180” (directed by Jakob Verbruggen (The Fall)), Catherine in “Wij
Alexander” directed by Rimko Haanstra (Amsterdam), Jakoba Vos in “In Flanders Fields”
directed by Jan Mathijs (release 2014), “Code 37”, Hanna in “The Rodenburgs”, “Vermist”,
“Vijfhoek”, “Wolven” etc…
Hilde created performances for the University of Antwerp, together with Tuur Florizoone
and Alain Pringels for the honory doctorates in 2012 of Luc Devroy, Bernard McGinn,
Peter J.Katzenstein, Harald zur Hauzen and doctoris honoris causa Franco Dragone; and
on october 15th of 2013 she created the performances for the 10th Anniversary of the
Antwerp University in the Opera House of Antwerp.
In 2014 Hilde will give again a two weeks Masterclass for the Masters in Audiovisual
Arts at the RITS, (department lead by Stijn Coninx).
