THE SHOPPE WILL BE CLOSED JULY 4—HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
OUR CHRISTMAS FABRICS ARE ARRIVING…..
WATCH FOR THEM TO MAKE THEIR APPEARANCE
IN THE SHOPPE SOON!!!!
It’s not too early to start thinking about those holiday projects that you want to get
done this year, and the perfect time to start is now—when the fabric and pattern selections
are new and fresh! Not all of our holiday fabrics have arrived yet, and we don’t want to delay
your start on completing projects for the holiday season, so we’re getting everything in place
to get the holiday fabrics out on the shoppe floor and ready for you! More will be coming and
we’ll get them on the shoppe floor for you just as quickly as we can. It’s going to be a great
holiday season for quilting this year—
Winter Wishes by Benartex
Festive Holiday by Benartex
Holly Taylor’s Northern Cardinals by Moda
And more are on the way….. New Holiday batiks from Hoffman, Harvest by P&B Textiles, Buggy Barn’s
Bramble Berries by Henry Glass, and Whimsical’s Winterberry Lane fabrics! Watch for them in the
shoppe!
We still have lots of events and activities for you to participate in as well…..
July 23 is the Cotton Theory Class with Joyce Clark! This class promises to be great fun with a great
wall hanging project! If you haven’t experienced quilting the Cotton Theory way, don’t miss out on this great
opportunity to create your own double-sided project. The completed project can be used as a wall hanging or table topper, and the pattern also includes a pattern for a placemat set. Spend a full class day with Joyce Clark.
Lunch is on us and included as part of your class. Check for further details in the newsletter.
August 4 through August 7 is the “All Mixed Up” Shop Hop! Mark your calendar and set aside time to
participate in this great Shop Hop. Six shops in Southeast Wisconsin all joined together for your shopping fun
and convenience. We have a bus scheduled to depart from our Shoppe on Saturday, August 6! The bus is
only $30 if you register before July 10 and $35 after July 10. Your bus ticket includes lunch! Save $5 and register early— you will receive a ‘goody bag’ to get you started on the bus, there will also be games, prizes and refreshments to keep you energized and refreshed for your trip. My Sister’s Quilt Shoppe will also be open on
Sunday, August 7, from noon until 4:00 p.m. as part of the Shop Hop.
Our bus on August 6 will leave the Shoppe at 8:00 a.m. and return to the Shoppe at 5:30 p.m. We will
open the Shoppe at 7:00 a.m. that day so that you will have opportunity to shop before boarding the bus.
The Shop Hop has a spectacular prize list — including $300 Quilter’s Cash for one lucky winner! Each
shop will also have a gift basket prize and a fat quarter pack as part of the prize drawings—among other great
prizes!
Our QFL season is in full swing and our Step-Sister team members are busy working on projects and participating in other QFL activities. Our bus trip on June 23 was a
TREMENDOUS success and plans are already in place to do another bus trip during QFL
Season 2012.
The QFL meeting date schedule for July and August is a bit revamped to
accommodate vacations, etc., so be sure to mark your calendar—we don’t want any of our
Step-Sisters to miss out on the QFL activities or sales!
Remember to check the chalkboard—each week we post a new special
EXCLUSIVELY for QFL team players. You must be a QFL member—of any shop—to take
advantage of the special—all you need to do is show us your membership card and passport!
QFL members earn points for purchases, traveling to other shops, and other QFL activities. Judging by the number of travel slips we’ve had to record in our record book, our Step-Sisters are busy traveling this summer and
earning points toward great prizes. QFL activities, sewing for charity, completing special QFL Kwik Sew patterns,
- all help you earn points! Earn a travel slip for every visit or activity you participate in at the shoppe! And don’t
forget to bring those travel slips in so that we can record them on your stat page for our own in-shoppe prizes,
including the 100 Fat Quarters Grand Prize to be shared by the three Step-Sisters who accumulate the most
points! Mark your calendar—don’t miss the next meeting date (and we furnish the lunch/dinner!)

strips and you are well on your way! The class will focus on a lap size quilt, but there are several size variations available on the pattern. Take this class and learn how easily you can create
this masterpiece quilt. Great for beginning and experienced quilters alike! This class is two
sessions.
Class Fee—$30.00 plus materials.

want to learn to quilt, this class is for you! And if you are already a quilter, but want to take a class to reinforce your quilting

Nifty Notion of the Month
Do you often feel that you can never remember where you last set down your scissor when you are quilting? The retractable scissor holder may be just the Nifty Notion for you this month! With their colorful quilt
designs on the clip portion, you can attach the scissor holder to your blouse or shirt and hook your scissor on the
clip on the end of the retractable cord. Then, whenever you need your scissor, it will be right at your fingertips
at the end of the cord ready for you to use. The cord has plenty of length to use while quilting at your machine or
when you are sitting and doing hand sewing, so there’s never a problem with the scissor not being able to reach
where you need it to cut. Pick up a retractable scissor holder today—you’ll find it an invaluable quilting tool!

The 2012 Pillowcase Challenge
Needs YOUR Participation!
Read what some of our local students
have accomplished!
We’re extending our thank you to the Sheboygan Falls Middle School 8th Grade class for their contribution to
the 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge. 84 pillowcases were brought in by class representatives and their teacher, Diane
Woodworth. There were 102 students that participated in the class project to create the pillowcases, and at the
request of the class, after registering their donation with American Patchwork and Quilting, we delivered the 84 pillowcases to the Sharon Richardson Hospice Center for them to distribute to their residents.
American Patchwork and Quilting continues to need YOUR support for the 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge. Check
out your stash at home—we’ve all got a few fabrics we can part with for a good cause! And just in case you can’t find
any in your stash, we’ve assembled a selection of pillowcase kits in a variety of fabrics for your convenience. Stop in
and pick up one—or two—or three today! THERE’S A NEW SELECTION OF KITS AVAILABLE!
Thank you again to the Sheboygan Falls Middle School students for their hard work and contribution.
And remember—There’s no limit to what quilters can do once we put our hearts and hands to work! We have a free
pillowcase pattern available at the shoppe, or you can go online at www.allpeoplequilt.com, click on ’pillowcase challenge’
and select from over a dozen free pillowcase patterns provided by American Patchwork and Quilting. Just download
your favorite, pick a few fabrics from your stash and start sewing!
P.S.to our QFL Step-Sisters—you can earn QFL points for EVERY pillowcase you donate!
