N.H.C.B.A. 2014 STATE TOURNAMENT
RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. All participants in the 2014 New Hampshire Candlepin Bowling Championships must be League Bowlers of New
Hampshire Candlepin Bowling Association member establishments.
2. AVERAGE VERIFICATION AND IDENTIFICATION CARDS:
a. All bowlers must have an N.H.C.B.A. Membership Bowlers card to participate in tournament. Card must be shown at
tournament.
b. The Average for handicap events is your HIGHEST LEAGUE AVERAGE as of March 1, 2014 in any league bowled
in ANY NHCBA establishment. A minimum of 30 games is required for an acceptable average. YOU MUST BOWL in an
NHCBA Center to be eligible to bowl in the NH State Tournament.
c.The Bowlers Membership card must show the highest 3/1/2014 Average for every N.H.C.B.A. house bowled in. Averages must be verified and shown prior to each event.
FALSIFYING SCORES: Any Effort or action by a bowler, to falsify his/her scores, in order to create, manipulate or
lower his/her scoring average(s), shall be deemed “Falsifying Scores”, and therefore, the bowler may be disqualified
or deemed ineligible for league or tournament competition. Falsifying scores can be, but not limited to, switching bowling hands during competition, other than for legitimate injury reasons as covered by NHCBA, ICBA, or House league or
events rules, deliberately delivering a bad delivery or acting in any manner that is deemed intentional in order to alter
scores or scoring averages.
d. If during the season, you have bowled with temporary injuries or physical circumstances that caused a decrease in
your average or by switching hands during a game or games, your average may be reviewed by the tournament directors
and may be subject to adjustment. By doing so, your average is not considered a TRUE average and can be a cause
for disqualification from any NHCBA Tournament.

4. Handicap division events are handicapped at 100% to 130 averaged based on rules 2 and 3.
5. You may bowl In DOUBLES and TEAM events with bowlers from other NHCBA centers, providing they hold a current
NHCBA membership card.
6. A bowler must be 17 years of age or older to bowl in this tournament. Bowlers who are 17 years old lose their eligibility to bowl in youth events once they have bowled as an adult.
7. A separate Entry Blank must be made out for each event bowled, with all information
filled in and signed or entry form will be returned.
8. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT FULL PAYMENT. Partial payments on entries will
be returned. Personal checks accepted. However, returned checks - $50.00 Fee.
9. Re-entries will be allowed in DOUBLES, MIXED DOUBLES, MIXED TEAMS and TEAMS; with at least one new
bowler. The first score bowled counts for All-Events scores.

10. Send entries EARLY to get preferred date and time. Also be sure to make a second choice, some events fill up
quickly. If no second choice is made, the tournament directors have the right to assign a date and time.
Tournament directors reserve the right to add or drop events at their discretion. Lane assignments will be chosen by the
random draw method.
11. POSITIVELY NO POST ENTRIES
12. GENERAL RULES:
a. In case of default for any reason, entry fee will not be refunded.
b. In case of a tie in a money position, the money involved will be divided proportionately among those bowlers
that are tied.
c. Appropriate attire is MANDATORY. (Please: No Hats, Halters, Tank Tops)
d. Bowlers WILL be disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct. This includes but is not limited to foul and or
abusive language.
e. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to verify averages and requirements under rule #5 before
awarding prizes. Any misrepresentation shall result in disqualification.
f. All Singles and Doubles Events will be bowled with two bowlers per lane.
g. Eliminate all fractions when computing averages.
h. Entries will receive 1st choice in shift, unless otherwise notified.
i. All bowlers must be present at event and registered 15 minutes before scheduled starting time.
j. All decisions will be made by the tournament directors and are considered final.
k. All bowling balls must be checked and weighed before each shift.
Any and all questions should be directed to a staff member of Lakeside Lanes, or the Tournament Director during events.
N.H.C.B.A. Candlepin Handicap Bowling Champions

1. Entrants must bowl in every handicap event consisting of Mixed Teams, Mixed Doubles,
Teams Doubles and Singles for a total of 21 strings.
2. The 21 string totals will determine the final standings for the All-Events Winners.

Directions to Lakeside Lanes: take 93 North or South to Exit 7, (Route 101 East), sign will read
Portsmouth, Seacoast. From Exit 7, take Route 28 By-pass, Auburn-Hooksett Exit. At the lights, take a right, follow to the rotary, bearing right, 500 feet on the left side is Lakeside Lanes.
From Maine: Route 95 South to Route 101 West, stay on 101 West until you come to Exit 1. Sign will read,
Auburn-Hooksett, Route 28 By-pass. Take a left to the rotary, bear right, 500 feet on left side is Lakeside Lanes.
