I was cruising through the mall the other day, and
stopped in at Goldworks to have a chat with Laurie. Laurie
is heading up the "Big Chill Challenge". What's the "Big
Chill Challenge"? you ask. Well folks....the food bank is in
need of a walk in freezer so that they can keep perishable
food such as frozen vegetables, meats and such. The total
cost to have a walk-in freezer is around $8000. So far,
Laurie tells me that they have raised close to half, thanks
to the generosity of some great local business's such as
Propak, McDonalds, Bow Valley Credit Union, Airdrie
Chrysler, Wingenback, Travel Masters, Order of Eastern
Star, Clayton Baily and of course....Goldworks. The
challenge is for local business's and residents throughout
Airdrie and the surrounding area, to donate $50.....or even
more if generosity so moves them. By many folks donating
a little, their generosity can be combined to fill a huge
need. If you would like to donate to this very worthy cause,
then please drop off your donation at Goldworks in
Towerlane Mall in Airdrie, or at the Airdrie Echo office.
No donation is too small and all donations are
appreciated. Please make checks payable to the Airdrie
Food Bank. Tax receipts will be mailed to you.
